Hello everybody. As a citizen of Niš, all I can say is thank you for the video and thank you for showing my city in the best possible way. The only thing I would might metter is that you were trying to compare Belgrade with Nish in some parts. Well it is uncompareble. Niš is a way of life, a unique feeling of freedom, and if you rest on some cafe for a couple of hours soon you will meet all the friends you know in this wonderful city. Food and hospitality is our trade mark.
hey man, i know what you mean, Nis is completely different in every way. The reason I was comparing was for 2 reasons. a - I had spent a lot of time in Belgrade so it was natural to compare. b - for other foreigners who only go to Belgrade, I wanted to highlight the differences and my first impressions. Food and hospitality I agree! I ended up staying for over 3 weeks when I was only meant to be there for 1 week! I'm looking forward to coming back to Nis, loved it. Thanks for your comment brate!
Once again a wonderful put together, interesting and lovely video ! Enjoyed watching it a lot. :) Havent seen a person who travels so much and does such informative content. He deserves SO much more subscribers ! Will share those videos with friends :)
Cool video :) I like how it was informative and spontaneous at the same time, you gave background info on the things you've seen. One thing though, your pick for a pljeskavica was not the best, I usually avoid food places near bus stations, as they're usually the worst.
I find the opposite! The one I had the day before in the centre was so awful I had to throw it! I ate at the bus station place when I arrived, the bread was more like cevapi bread if you know what I mean instead of the bread in this video. The point was to show the affordable places locals eat. 100rsd is ridiculously cheap!
Chegar - Historic site - Huge battle. Turks were winning. Our general shot at the gunpowder storage and wiped out the entire enemy army (together with his own army, but we won. We always win.) Niska Banja - That is on the outskirts of Nish. Beautiful nature, peaceful, nice fountain, fresh air. Like a mountain resort. Those two bronze guys you were sitting with are Kalca (a funny historic figure, great liar, a hunter... he basically liked to overblow his hunting stories) and Stevan Sremac (the writer who collected all the stories from 19th century). And yeah, there is also a dog with them, Chapa. That is Kalca's little (fearless) dog. He fought with bears and wolves.... yeah. If I am not mistaken that ruined building you were in was a rubber factory over 40 years ago. It was moved to a far east part of the city, near the river of Morava. It was called "Vulkan".
Wow there is actually alot to see. Im a bit dissapointed you didn't ride the Noddy train🤣. The Al fresco dining areas do they come alive at night or are they affected by the current situation? Im thinking given its Summer that under normal circumstances that it would normally have alot of Tourists. You pack alot into your videos that gives us a really good feel for the location. Im a corona Karen sans mask for me. 👍
You're hilarious. One thing I've noticed about Ниш, is the fact that there's a street called Dr. Something-or-other, and there are about a million Аротекаs on it, and almost every building is covered in graffiti. I love it. I feel it's an excellent destination for any "Tripster".
Please help, i have a question Hey I just discovered your channel, and I am an English teacher too, I'm actually going to be traveling through Belarus next month, And just watched your video about extending your Visa in Belarus My question is though did you have to get a visa to enter Belarus,? because I know it's Visa free for 30days can I just go Visa free and then extend from Visa free ?
Hi, no visa to enter Belarus for 30 days, you can extend to 90 days which costs around £55 plus the cost of translating medical docs. As far as I know it's 90 days max per year
One of the IMPORTANT facts for you foreigners visiting Serbia! Protest in Serbia are NOT just about re-inforced curfew its about The Dictatorship regime in Serbia! The Curfew was just the trigger!
You should have visit the Summer Residantial Rallace of the roman emperor Constantine The Great called Mediana.Might be the oldest artifacts and findings of Christianity can be seen there
im from Serbia, honestly i dont know how could you like anything that you saw there better go to Rome or Athens and see Colloseum, Pantheon, Parthenon and so on, i mean they are also in ruins like everything here, but at least they are 2000 years older xD only germans preserve their history and building and castles all look shiny and new how they should...
@@davidostrowski679 "Almost 10 years ago, when I returned to Serbia, I was shocked at how much that ring of auto-chauvinism felt. I had to justify to strangers why I came back, who would interrupt me to explain how things are just awesome in Western countries as if I hadn’t lived there a quarter of a century. Well, such people would not know how to live anywhere. "
@@burnallempires3595 i live in australia, was born in sarajevo, my mum is from slovenia and dad from babusnica (near pirot, 'near' nish). i will never get used to australia. i don't belong here and i never will. pirot/babusnica region, from my childhood memories, was very poor even back then - there was no investment in the region, nothing. i don't think anything changed over the last 3-4 decades, which is really not ok. having said that, people from that region are probably the nicest people on earth. i remember one summer traveling with my parents from nis to belgrade by bus , 5 or 6 hours drive - the whole bus was laughing all the way to belgrade. that was the trip of my life. i'm just sad that serbian people have been maltreated again and again by the world community. the insults and injuries never seem to stop. no one deserves to be treated that badly - serbian people in particular. btw, my mum used to say: if you don't respect yourself - no one else will.

Oh also the next video has a burek place that's supposedly 'the best' in Niš, recommended by Igor from the last video. We'll see!
Cool, for burek it is Anton's burek near the hospital

Amazing history!

@@MarcoAlba1 Only three were born in Nis/Naissus.The most important was Constantine The Great

I'm used to going into banks with a mask on, so it's not a big deal. Cashfree/Contactless payments killed my business!
if you come to Novi Sad, you should try the best burek in Serbia, the bakery is called Burek plus and is located near the Novi Sad fair.
