- In this video, I go against popular opinion (and the terrible reviews) of installing ditch lights on my FJ Cruiser using a mounting bracket from Amazon.

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert, nor claim to be. I’m not responsible for how you modify your rig…and sometimes I wish I wasn’t responsible for how I have rigged mine ;) so RIG at your own RISK!
Thank you! Man I wish you filmed how you installed your roof bar lights! I think I watches all your vids today lolz
Thanks dude! I am going to be doing a re-wire video soon. I do not like the way they are wired currently…stay tuned
Like the small mods and refreshes that make it “new to you again”.
You commented on the high spacing for the ditch lights over the hood. I’ve had success stacking thick large washers to create a custom spacer size or height. Maybe a way to adjust it down that road but thought I’d share that tip!
Keep the vids coming!!
Thanks for the comment! I’m thinking about revisiting this and bending down the one trim clip of the plastic panel right below the windshield that the wipers go through. Once everything is locked in place, I don’t see a need for 2 points of clips…we will see
Excellent video!! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Привет друзья, кто-нибудь может дать ссылку чтобы заказать эти детали крепежа?
I used Google to translate, so the English might be off. Which “fasteners” specifically are you referring to? The mount for the lights are linked in Amazon and are easily searchable. If you have any more questions you can comment here or send an email to me.
Colby,
I keep all/most of the packing foam I aquire,(🤪I know, need help 🤪). I have a few dense black pieces that could be cut to fit & glued up to wedge into the gaps between the cowl & lights to fill & cushion, alternately I've also cut those dark grey/ black anti-fatigue mats to cushion & gap fill on my FJ (I used the mat edge trim pieces on my snorkel 'cuz I didn't want to drill into the "A" pillar, I just use silicone adhesive to attach)

This is a good idea. I tend to hoard random things as well! Do you like your snorkel?
Colby, Thanks man. i really wanna the cowl light for a while but i am afraid i have to mod the brackets. checking your video make me figure out that i can buy longer bolt and washers. thats a great idea, man
If I did it again, I would consider bending one of the clip tabs on the window shield hood trim, and see if that gives me the half inch of clearance. Then, hopefully, the cowl would be pretty secure missing one of the four clips and the bracket holding it down…we’ll see, thanks for the comment!
