Honestly I think Ryan might've been my favorite character (outside Bess/George/Hardy's) from all the Nancy games so far. "A bad guys wants to kill me, I'm outta here" is just so relatable and she was the right blend of quirky, informative and fun.
Ooh, edited version! I left my traditional tidbit comment on the second part of the live stream since I wasn't sure if there would be a full game upload like this. I'll put the same info here for anyone who didn't watch the stream: - The Aggregation game is made by Keenecom, as in Carolyn Keene (pen name of the ND author). - The slider puzzle you do on the gate in Ireland is art in the office. - If you try to just put some water in a bottle and bring it with you, somehow it explodes. Apparently water is very volatile in the ND universe. - When you look at Ryan's threat notes, you can see Lukas's cow game by the couch. - With all the day/night switching, Nancy spent like an entire month here during my playthrough, heh. - The note things in the air vents are purely for helping you figure out where you are because otherwise all the vent walls would look identical. - You can steal gummy bears from Ryan instead of getting mints for her! Rude. (It is a bit tricky to pull off, though. I got it to work in my recent playthrough but on previous playthroughs it hasn't let me do it.) - If you talk to Gray after seeing the true security video, he'll give you his backstory with Niko. - You can call your contacts after seeing the video if you do it from the secret room. Somehow, nobody tells you to call the cops and just wait in the safety of the room. But also, Dierdre admits that she told Victor that you totally suck and accuse the wrong people all the time... which is why Victor hired you. He assumed you'd mess up and get somebody arrested and he would look good for hiring someone to investigate. - When I first played this game, I suspected the baddie immediately because of the intro. They don't usually bother modeling a person talking like that if they're just a phone contact, y'know? - The outtakes for this one are super funny. There's a whole "gummy bear theater" segment where Ryan does little puppet show things with her bears.
_That_ makes more sense. I always feel cheated in a detective story if the person who hires the detective turns out to be the culprit. But if it's in the story that he believed Nancy would get the wrong person I guess it's... less annoying.
I also immediately assumed it was Victor, because it's such an obvious cliché that the business partner of someone very intelligent murders and then hires people to make themselves seem a less likely suspect. *especially* when that person then continues to point their finger at someone who's supposed to look obvious (Ryan)
Yes! I remember playing this game when it first came out long long time ago and always remembered stealing the gummy bears. I was so surprised when I didn’t have to do that literally yesterday (decided to play again). I thought it was a false memory. Have no idea how I managed to do it the first time lol.
The ADHD in how Gab was 2 switches away from solving the puzzle and proceeded to FLIP ALL THE SWITCHES AGAIN was so PAINFULLY RELATABLE THAT I am upset. Because two seconds before she did that I was like “I’m so glad she hasn’t flipped all the done switches like my dumbass would-“ The urge to re-scramble a puzzle just to properly figure it out hurts me but I do it every time 😢😭

I played the OLD Nancy drew games on pc back in the day. It’s crazy how far they have come! They are over 20 years old the ones I played. But Nancy drew NEVER gets old!
Oh yeah, Edison's use of DC power would have been insanely costly; generators basically EVERY city block, the cables would have had to be enormous, the electric chair is basically his only actual invention as well.

Can't help but jump in with a little tidbit of info about the invention of the lightning rod. A Czech inventor Prokop Diviš invented and built a lightning rod 6 years prior to Benjamin Franklin! The reason Franklin is known as the inventor is because Diviš's lightning rod was much less practical and much more expensive. Franklin's version spread around the world while (as far as i know) Diviš's never left the country.

Can I recemmend a game? Its called keepsake, its an older game but loads of trick puzzles. Its about a school of magic, but all the students are gone and you are basically trying to find out what happened to everyone while being assisted by a dragon, afraid of heights. I hope you at least check it out. 😢 the graphics are also beautiful for being such an old game
It would be really cool if Evelien got a hold of Stay tuned for danger nad/or the og secrets can kill and got them to work on the pc; those are technically the only ones she hasn't played from the earlier years
As someone who’s been obsessed with Tesla since I was little I am happy this game called out Thomas Edison for the jerk he is. Tesla was an inventor who actually wanted to help people. Edison was a business man who stole everyone’s ideas just to make money off them.

Simple summary of Nikola Tesla vs Thomas Edison Tesla is an inventor who wanted to discover something and create something to help out people for greater good at almost free. Edison had the knowledge but he took works of others then further research some of the works only to claim it his own while selling it as a business for money instead. IIRC he had tons of network so he can easily make a fortune while pressuring Tesla's work (funding). There are also some bits here and there which are disorganized and made up as "history are always recorded by the winners" so you'll see more info and praises of Edison and less actual info on Tesla's work recorded.
I mean, the two aren't mutually exclusive. I've known plenty of people like that who aren't rude, and plenty who are. You can be direct, honest, and logical and still not be mean. It seems like the writers just favor making those kind of characters meaner than the others. 🤷
Nancy is extremely direct, honest and logical and people rarely call her mean lol. I don't think that's the problem. Mason is just condescending as hell and clearly doesn't care about other people's feelings or how his words affect others.
