    • @alesksander
      @alesksander 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm i imagine total rethink of rider position WOULD BE FIRST THING TO CONSIDER. Anyway at current form. There is hard to do much more. I think. At current lean angles downforce is hard to compensate with rider blockage. Aprilia moustache FW wing is quite smart. That Design at cornering with could provide quite downforce trough CofG if designed correctly. But its hard for rider to nail exact lean angle to get maximum effect to not get yeeted to the ground or into sky. I think rider is limitation at handling such aero devices and centripetal forces. So naturally i think they cannot add aero for sake of it indefinitely. Tho i can be wrong. Fun tho. It prototype series why not. Just add budget cap and leave it be.

    The FIM/Dorna need to stop this now, its getting stupid and it will ruin the sport. Just look at F1, they need systems in place to allow following cars to be able to overtake. MotoGP riders are already complaining about issues and if any part gets broken off, makes the bikes very difficult to ride. I hate these devices, they may well make the bikes faster, but does the sport really need it? In my opinion, the bikes look ugly as sin.

    • @BSport320
      @BSport320  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The more bikes rely on downforce in a corner, the more they can lose if they follow another bike.
      On the other hand increased turbulence on the straight can help them to follow better.
      So with these bikes following becomes harder in corners but could become easier on the straights.

    To put on the ground all 300hp of a 250kg bike (with the driver and gas) is very tricky, especially when the eletronics cut the power to prevent the wheel from spinning. Instead of a back wing, that goes up and down with the suspension, I would choose a more stable location: the hub of the back wheel. Not a moustache like wing, but a longitudinal one to keep it from touching the ground on curves. Another curious solution, was on the swing arm. Because on curves, when the power is more needed, the angle of the wing would be greater as the suspension is compressed at his maximum with the centrifugal force. At the attention of Albesiano.

    If you manage to put all 300hp on the ground through aerodynamics, you will have to deal with the inevitable (and violent) wheelies. You can opt for front ailerons, for eletronics (by actioning the back brake), or leave it to the pilots. Anyway it is a tricky compromise, and a big chalenge for the engineers.

    I'm a bit puzzled around this. At high lean angles, and I guess at high throttle exit, or at entry braking areas, loading tyres 'more' seems like it will at some point create a circumstance where the rubber patch gets overloaded. Or increased load over race distance has a higher wear rate on the tyre. It will be interesting how this plays out.

      Could you explain why you and the F1 technician think aero development will kill MotoGP?
      Bear in mind I have no idea about anything to do with MotoGP.

      @@charliemolda297 well it's a bit like F1 in that regard the bikes are becoming more relent on aero grip instead of mechanical and thus if bike is not getting clean air it won't be able to follow very well. And not being able to follow means that you don't get close racing.

      @@charliemolda297 Because it will lead to exploding costs and faster = more dangerous racing with less wheel to wheel action. MotoGP bikes are already too fast for some tracks and overtaking under braking is already a huge problem compared to a few years ago.

      It is hard to believe that the relatively small wings and bits can have much effect on lap times and I have to believe that riders will be concerned about safety when one of these aero bits seriously injures someone.

    I'm not convinced that aero made F1 better. It certainly wasn't good for close racing. Will MotoGP become better with less close racing?
