I have scowered the net and even bought Logic Pro X for dummies, 3 weeks into my Logic Journey, and 3mins into this video, this is the best, clearest, straight forwardest clip i've seen.

I've been searching so long for someone to explain how to gauge db levels when recording. SO LONG!!! lol! This tutorial is gold.

I recently bought a copy of Logic Pro. Getting started on it is untenably complicated.
Considering this TH-cam video. By the 8-minute mark, we are well on our way to a deep dive. We have gone through a dozen setup menus, making critical and non-critical choices alike, in anticipation of putting musical instrument to microphone to Logic.
Compare to an Audacity startup for beginners: 1) OPEN Audacity 2) AUDIO SETUP - PLAYBACK DEVICE - SELECT 3) AUDIO SETUP - RECORDING DEVICE - SELECT 4) RECORD (you are now recording) 5) RECORDING LEVEL DISPLAY, adjust input device volume or gain as needed to achieve -15 to -10db 6) VIEW - SHOW CLIPPING - ON (nice to see) 7) STOP when done recording 8) FILE - SAVE PROJECT 9) FILE - EXPORT FILE AS AN MP3. (Easy)
Yours is clearly one of the better Beginning Logic videos, but what I wanted was to get to the end of recording a 3-minute song and saving it QUICKLY - by the 10-minute mark, say. THEN, I would have been ready to go back and begin tweaking. Alternative TH-cam video recommendations welcome.

Wow, you really covered some things I've been trying to find having watched a plethora of other videos, even via groove 3 tuts. Among the sought after knowledge was the bit about software monitoring vs. input monitoring. It alleviated a headache I've even tried to remedy for weeks. Very grateful. Thanks!

i dont understand how this channel and video isn't the most popular in the recording community

  • @timbeaton5045
    @timbeaton5045 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Two points... in the early section on software monitoring, it is worth pointing out that even if you assign a reverb for, say, a vocalist, that any effect that you insert is not baked into the recording. The audio goes straight into the channel, WITHOUT adding any effects. So if you used a guitar amp simulator, the actual recorded sound is straight out of the audio interface. Any effects assigned to a track are only audible in the PLAYBACK of that track's audio. A subtle point, but worth making.
Also, in Preferences>General>Editing, you can use the "Right Mouse Button is assignable... to set as a third tool. So that you can have three tools available, Left button, CMD Left button, and Right Button.

Logic of 'naughty' isn't 'not-ai', but 'not-naughty' is. Regarding how logic of compliment using a single ai can give a full diction of logic about one stereotype. Thus, logic pro x with 'not' brands, not-ai brands, not-dictionary-ai; it's humor about saying that everything is in the same pool.
Thus the logic pro x for 'not-ai' could be everything about anything of artificial intelligence business relations. Potentially, using Logic pro x only for 'compliment'/ 'not-ai'/ 'negation' could be the only business needed. With 'not-meat' the vegan trademark business could prove that 'not-vegan' is an internal software relation program that is simply saying 'not-ai' is running a logic search filter for 'vegan'; which, humorously, could mean that 'not-vegan' (and it's ai) is the most vegan-vegan. Because of how redundant business is when it's like 'you know what it is, and are sharing it, but do you know what it's not?' because of how sale's tactic for something like fem-ai/ feminism could make everything feminist even if it's not purposeful. Thus, everything being 'logic' could be interesting. Like, is logic sines, and 'not-logic' cosines?
Regarding how a liar isn't a not-liar. The humor when dealing with data collections and finance and records collections could make an entire architecture of stereotype and not-stereotype define parameters including all associations plausible.
Thus, 'not-illegal-ai' is probably a humorous subject when it comes to logic pro x and filtering/ censorship.
The dichotomy is like making an aeropay Wikipedia community Red Cross rebranding through Reddit to have an ai which is both the 'not-ai' and just 'ai'.
In Arabic, the theology and opinion of belief That there is such thing as 'not', as a or symbol is easily overlooked.
It is more like a comedy where they use 'god' for being good and 'gosh' for being better, and whisper 'not-gosh' while shouting 'not-god'. Like it's a one-way force of logical reasoning and contact. Like, the definition couldn't truly be ever believed nor understood to just be 'not-arabic'. Arabic-ai and not-arabic-ai.
    Logic of Also, not-ai-arabic and not-ai-arabic-ai... (Ai-arabic, and ai-arabic-ai...).
The logic of humor being like a generator/ developer of computer systems having childish arguments where everything is only embedding in private dissociated peer-to-peer networking...
When theology limits science to a truth of religion like 'globe'/ 'size of Earth', 'mars-mirage space station making a projector laser nitrogen sheath across the sky through nuclear power ', etc. like, the truth of logic pro x would have different settings for interface with different brands and businesses.
When bank of America is God and another version of God is better but Gosh is the best of the better-better... (Redundancy about who to bank with and who to prefer to speak). Just one dollar, OneRep.

Wow, awesome! I haven’t watched the whole video yet, so maybe this question will be answered. But if not, how do I playback or export a song that starts *with* a pre-roll? Like no acoustic song start exactly on one, right? Doesn’t make sense to me. 🤔 I mean, sure, I can insert silence in the beginning and drag the regions out to the left before exporting...

Hopefully you can help.. The problem I’ve been having is the audio coming in SO low when I’m recording my vocals. Also, I’m using a Yamaha mixer as my interface with my keyboard plugged into it. It seems as if it records a double when I have the music tracks playing when I only want my vocals on that track. Hopefully that makes sense. When I’ve recorded music or when I have an audio track playing to sing along to, it includes that audio into the vocal track. Please help!

My focus is only on singing and recording the vocals... I somehow did not find this tutorial useful because when I am in my recording booth with Logic Pro, Preamp and the mic, I do not record vocals in loop. I simply go with one take, analyse how I did it, then either want to undo the take and go for the next take with more precision... If I like the take or part of the take, I simply want to know the short cut to keep the take aside and make the appln ready for next take on main audio track i am recording. But I dont see that sort of information available in the video

Thanks for the great video. Quick question regarding comping - let's say that I've gone through takes and am pretty pleased with my comping of multiple takes. But if I then record over these comps, then the new take automatically replaces the comped takes as my primary take. Is there a way to turn off this feature so my new take doesn't replace the comps?

  • @IMRANnet

Sorry, I must be missing something, but did you show how two synths both connected by USB to the MacBook Pro can be played simultaneously to record their audio on two separate audio tracks?
I create Audio Track 1 and get Input from Synth 1, I hear it in LPX and can record it. Now I add Audio Track 2 and get input from Synth 2. I hear it in LXP and can record it. BUT, adding that second track for Synth 2 forces the first audio track's input to switch from Synth 1 to Synth 2 and makes that track silent no matter which keyboard is played.
Surely there must be a way to do real time simultaneous multitrack recording for two synths connected to LPX by USB -- without needing to buy extra hardware or interfaces. Maybe you can help and include a new post about that audio recording situation to your stream. Thanks.
