    Damn good video.
    I am seriously looking at my own "fear of success." What I am seeing is it is not a fear of success but rather a fear of loss of connection. IE as a child I was told to be a certain way which was to be less than my potential. To fulfill that potential means fear of loss of approval of the very same people who don't want me to achieve my potential!
    I think just being able to SEE what's going on IS the solution. Or rather, the solution presents itself automatically once you can actually clearly and accurately SEE what is.

    It's not the "success" that people are afraid of. It's the responsibility that comes with it and not feeling like they can live up to or handle that responsibility

      It's basically the fear of change. It's the lack of comfort that comes with adapting to new situations and the change that's needed to keep up with that.

    I've been saying " I fear success" for so long. I needed this video because now I understand it isn't success I fear. It's the things that come WITH it that I fear! The responsibilities. The lack of privacy (As someone who's dealt/deals with anxiety disorders, depression etc the thought of having my personal business out there like that completely terrifies me) yet at the some time it elates me. I get happy thinking about it. Then I get sad thinking about it too. Such a dilemma! I have so much to think & journal about. Thanks for the video Teal!

    I have legit fear of SUCCESS. I have inner feeling that if I am successful I feel I DONT “DESERVE” IT. The stupid, not good enough person like me don’t deserve to be recognized, admired and respected. Even the word make me shiver.

    • @katriana_young
      @katriana_young 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's still not fear of the actual success. It's rooted in poor self-concept and some unfortunate life experiences that told you that you have to "deserve" or earn praise, acknowledgement, love, or acceptance. That you specifically are not worthy of success, standing out, being in charge, being a leader, etc. I too had this wound for the longest...so I know you can also heal it. Just be aware that sometimes our healing happens in layers...so even when we feel like there's more to let go of, it's important to acknowledge what you've accomplished up until this point.

    We are never afraid of/want/angry about the thing we think we are afraid of/want/angry about. There's always a thing behind the thing. Therefore just as much we are not afraid of success, we are not afraid of failure but of the consequences that we THINK failure may entail. Similarly, we don't want success but the benefits that success entails, mostly confirmation that we are worthy.

  • @nabilinho
    @nabilinho ปีที่แล้ว +12

    What people really fear is not success but failure and rejection which inevitably occurs along the way when you're truly committed to succeed. And this failure is what people fear because it re-emphasizes your unworthiness that you've been programmed to believe about yourself throughout your formative years. It triggers the most inflamed part of your ego. This is the real fear.

      I think your theory relates more to relationships, new or being loved/accepted by others in our existing relationships. Success can be about achieving something that is not social in nature. Like a quantum or scientific discovery which has no connection to being rejected or accepted by others.

    Thank you for this. I have always felt that I'm not afraid of success, but rather, I am afraid of my success being taken away. When I was growing up, my mother did everything in her power to sabotage my joy. As a result, I have shied away from doing anything and everything that brings me joy. And what I do manage to do, I keep hidden. After many years of shadow work, I am finally free to be me.

    Lately Ive been stuck with unfinished songs even though Ive just sworn that I want to pursue my music career. Not only that made me feel stuck and unsatisfied with my songs, I don't get to clean my house fully. Basically, I have the fear of not finishing an album, or to simply put it, a task 🥲 I'm afraid that once I publish a song, I won't be able to make another.. and that's showing some early signs with what I have to tidy up in my own surroundings. So if I want to finish an album, I need to learn how to finish chores and other work, too (in my case, art commissions). 🙏🏻

    I would think that's obvious... Success requires hard work, striving, and responsibility... No one says that they are afraid of the feeling of completing a goal/succeeding; they are afraid of the hard work and obstacles that they will inevitably encounter on the way to success, and the challenges they will face to maintain that same level of success. This is so obvious I can't believe a video is necessary to explain it. It's a fear of failure

    I listened very closely to the Tree example and I completely agree with the point of the video. To me -as I now think and feel of it- is that in the end, the presence or absence of a "snake" under a "tree" is entirely subjective and irrelevant. This is because in a time and in a place as with all things one has gone through "snakes" under "trees" and Choses (choice is very important) to either ignore them, put them under the rag, kill the "snake" or even disregard their "being" altogether. The Real question to me is whether these "snakes" are considered parts of opportunity for Growth or Not, and even further how can we even accept and furthermore Transmute (important word and concept) the lessons that are hidden behind or even Create our own lessons If and When necessary.Interpretation is all that is needed but that is an upper level of Awareness which is an upper level of something else etc etc.Love your videos, keep up!

Complementing each other. 😍❤️☀️🌻 So hope this helps anyone who is currently trying to work on redefining their relationship with themselves and success. All the best 😍❤️☀️🌻

    Fear of success is real, though it’s an umbrella term and you have to assess the reasons behind your fear of success. It’s often because it means change, and the subconscious fears change. Because it means it no longer belongs to the tribe it’s familiar with. If you look at your perceived tribe, it can give you a lot of insights into your success and failures.

    I believe in a healthy society we would in many more places support people on their way and they would have role models not in the media but sitting next to them, being present and supportive, offering advice about things a beginner cannot anticipate, helping them develop into who they are becoming.
    The fear today is often about pioneering, being left out, having to have new skillsets that nobody prepares you for, having nobody to help you when new level problems come etc.
    Being left out and critisized instead of supported.
    We need to support each other and look for support and accept support wherever it is possible and needed.
    We need successful, healthy, confident, kind people, with a supporting network
    There are in reality only few things that we need really adventurous pioneers for and these kind of people are born and will do that part with joy and excitement.
    But 99% of "success" is too hard and lonely and adventurous nowadays, while we have to play by all kinds of complicated rules outside of ourselves.

    Teal please, please do a video on the menopause. Its a huge issue that has repercussions for every woman and often men. We don't have the support to understand and deal with it, all we have is the inconsistant veiws and opinions of others. I feel the big M effects us not only just on a physical level but effects our woman hood too. Men respond differently as does society. Please release a video on this as it will provide, safety, self acceptance and Queenhood in woman. Also give us the power to essentially be our selves where ever we are in life. I hope you see this as I know many comments go un-noticed.
    But fingers crossed you do as always give your valuable insight that will benefit us all. Much love from the UK, Miss Stevie Watson 💗💗💗💗

    Thank you teal I love you. And I watched the horrible series and I still love you lol. Of course. At this point I am surprised you are not laughing your ass off every time you deliver one of these videos. I know I would be with the knowledge that I have. And with the knowledge that you have and you're not doing this, is a miracle. I love that you smile and smirk at the very obvious. I'm so grateful for your videos. I'm finally in a position where soon I will be able to show you that gratitude financially. But your offer of free content over these decades has got me through divorces and spiritual conundrums and everything in between. Thank you I love you dearly

    Seems like for some people success was associated with loss at some point in their life. Probably childhood. Parents are jealous of their kids sometimes.

    Yea, I always found that phrase odd. The fear is of failure. You don't try to succeed, you don't try, because of fear of failure.

    If someone has a fear of success, and success is defined as achieving what you want, they must be trembling each time they are going out for a cup of tea and manage to get a cup of tea 🍵😖😂

      Interesting though. When I was younger I suffered extremely anxiety and had constant panic attacks doing every day "normal" things...then I started to drink every day to just get through the every day activities....I think with these "comments sections" we ALL can contribute some good thoughts and we can Finally "connect the dots" in our personal Journeys.

    I have been a true blessing for me as I am seeing the truth about the why, how, and what I have been created to do and be in my present lifetime and I am very grateful that I have been guided to you and your insights and wisdom you have given me in my journey and I find it interesting that I first came across you was many years ago and I think you were part of a project named avalon or something like that... I remember that you really impressed me with your wisdom and the way that you explained what you were doing and how we have to be open to get the best possible way for us and the way we are the factor that is the only limit we have to choose to release it to receive the better things that we have been blocking from our lives.

    My underlying fear was loss of connection. The pandemic showed me that none of them gave a sh!t about me anyway, so that fear was utterly pointless LOL

    0:54 sorry only got this far before needing to say that I fear success! I fear success a lot. But I also am aware of the negative consequences that I have received from having any kind of success in the past and I can understand how this would create such a fear! So yeah. It’s real. It’s very real

    So I'm gonna be honest I loved this video but it made me frustrated because unlike most of your videos you did not give advice on how to resolve this. Step by step like you usually do. Any way I got a scare around money and not having the property ans resources I need today. It really shook me and left me unsettled. I realised I was trying to suppress the feeling so I went into it and it lead me back through several experiences in my life and finally to the root where I got to resolve and love the little girl self of me that was still in a lot of pain. And it flused to the surface a core belife that I was unaware of. It was a beautiful experience and very emotional and healing. I'll keep you posted wether there is a change in my circumstances. Even if there is not I still found an opportunity to live more of me xxxx

    My fear is that #1 and #6 and #9. I want to study math to solve a Clay Math problem, but the piggy-back is keeping up the effort of solving the problem(s), I think I'll lose my freedom to contemplate reality, and I think if I give up on the research, I will have let myself and others down.
