Wow they came out amazingly
I love these wagons, sadly they don't fit with my period which is such a shame considering their cost is a patch on most other new wagons. Good on Oxford for putting out decent wagons at a decent price.
Here's a few little tips on plank wagons, paint some panels in different colours as this was very common not only on these but also on other planked wagons.
The humbrol weathering powder range is by far one of the best out there, it was my main go to product when I started weathering years back.
Top tip if you have the full range of colours is get mixing, mix up a variety of shades and it'll give you a bigger colour pallet to work with.
I just use a mix of brown and black paint and brush it around with a paint brush for locos and rolling stock
I’ll defo try this out though , cheers!
awesome video Jenny
Great video! Thanks for posting. Ned
Excellent results = I use the Life Colour Weathering wood paints on the deck to give a nice wood look before adding washes and powders .
Cheers kev
Wow Jennifer nice video you done. Thanks for sharing David.
Wonderful video again Jenny
Great results from what you have made an easy to follow guide, great thanks
Good work Jen 👍
They look smart now. 😉
A really nice job 😉
I think that I will do this on my pilchard wagons when they arrive from Hattons
I didn’t notice, but do you wait for the black wash to dry before applying the weathering powders?
Yes, if you apply powders to a wet surface they act like a paint - which is sometimes really useful!
Best to apply powders when the surface is tacky NOT wet as the powders grab really nicely that way 👍
