The 1,000 planets is definitely unnecessary for most players. It’s nice having lots of options for building a home somewhere and it will be useful for mods but I totally feel you. I don’t have much of any reason to explore all these places
I think this game fell victim to the 8 year development cycle so it is has been overthought. Sometimes less is more and in this case one dev said, "We have everything but the kitchen sink in this game." Only to have another dev reply, "Think we have two extra sinks we can throw in". Hopefully TES6 implements more of a "Kiss System" (Keep It Simple Stupid) than what Starfield offers. Because I am 3.5 hours in and seems to be a bit of a grind just learning everything. I have not had a "step out moment" to speak of. In Skyrim I had two. One when you leave the cave at Helgen. The second was when I left Riverwood to go to Whiterun. Walking down the road next to the waterfalls and all of a sudden the valley opens up, I stopped my character and simply looked.
I’m very excited to see how they take their new tech and use it for ES6. Something in a confined map space but with modern tech oooo man it gets me pumped
About 30 hours in, and your review nailed it! There are systems that are boring and incomplete, but there are also systems that are badass. I'm so excited for the mods on Xbox. Mods made Skyrim and Fallout an entire new experience that had me hooked for year's.
I do love the game and my background has only come up a few times but I'm only 10 hours into it I will say that what no one has talked about is that there are magazines that increase your stats much like fallout 4 did if you see a brightly colored detailed magazine collect it! The lighting wasn't an issue for me I'm on Xbox I actually felt it could have been a bit darker but there's no settings to change that strangely
Good review. I agree about the lighting , it is dark.. I picked up a shotgun pistol , one shot one kill gun. It rocks , I like it better than the auto guns.. to many rounds to drop an enemy. With that being said , I don't have hit perks built yet. Going to spend along time on this game.
Loving this review and the game is amazing already some flaws but def enjoying it and love exploring and just finding good loot and the story is really taking off after about 11 hrs in I’m at level 12
I assume backgrounds are like starting skills in Skyrim. You can either A) level up whatever skills you want, a jack of all trades B) only level those chosen skills making you have hyper specialised characters with inherent strengths and weaknesses for added roleplay fun.
Hey man. I think you are one of the best YT gaming video makers here. I know you are on pc but my question for you is, do you think it would be difficult for Bethesda to add a DEAD ZONE stick setting for Xbox? They are really really big deadzones so every time I look anywhere it’s not smooth and very janky. It really bothers me and I’ve spent hours in settings trying to find a good setting. But I can’t.
Thanks Preston! I’d say the best way is adjusting the dead zones through the Xbox accessories app. I’ve had an elite controller forever and have those settings adjusted already but can’t recall if you can do that on a standard controller. I’d say give it a shot though, may just be an easy fix:)
A few small things im not a fan of but they are minor irtitants compared to the rest of the game that is excellent. I have had one quest killing bug though. In the quest ground pounders the star system the mission is in has dissipeared of the star map
@wirthypickle it certainly is. I can't even go to the system anymore, which is the most irritating, and setting course to the mission doesn't work either as it seems the game doesn't believe the system actually exists anymore.
When it comes to collecting resources Shoot the asteroids you heard me correctly Shoot the asteroids. It's just like destroying a space ship you collect the loot. Destroy the asteroids and collect the materials goes in the hold of your ship, easy peasy. An asteroid is just a small planet that you can't land on but, you destroy it.
i've played 0 hours and this is a POS game on so many levels. Nothing in the game interested me that hasn't been done in games 10+ years old. Poorly optimized is the biggest issue. For every 10 hours, there's 5 minute of action.
"the best bang for your buck in gaming right now" thats a joke right? we all know that baldurs gate 3 release a month early and is SHITTING on this game. dont get me wrong im having fun in starfield. but thats just a false statement
Simply a matter of opinion, hence my impressions of the game. I’m not the biggest fan of BG3 and know plenty of others that feel the same. Starfield is catered to a wider audience and has enough content for hundreds to thousands of hours. You may disagree and that’s fine, but that doesn’t make my opinion false.
@wirthypickle yea but as a news source on TH-cam that is not an objective statement. starfield is a DOWNGRADE no matter how you look at it. it's a shame really. you can't release a space game this poor with other space games our there being way more expansive. it's 2023 not 2010. the same engine and game play loop isn't enough
Let's hear it! Will you be buying Starfield?
I'm already playing it, but I will be buying it.

Why this big games didn't have a fuc*ing map ??? Because it's world auto generated random world, that's why no map ???

Hopefully Xbox will get their mod support early next year but we will see!

Great thoughts, I agree the magazines are definitely a good addition!

Nice! All the shotguns I’ve found aren’t good:/
Appparently this game doesn’t do hdr.
VSR on also makes it seem darker.
@@wirthypickle it might be something different than a shotgun. I dk.. but it's one shot one kill and at my low level it's my new favorite
@@wirthypickle . modified regulator.. powerful gun.

@@wirthypickle heck yeah same especially after I finish it and they add mod support imagine Star Wars mods or some crazy stuff

@Ragehaven 😮no way…
@wirthypickle unfortunately very much yes way. Was a really good mission as well. Helping heal the bad blood between the UC and FC
10 hours in so far.. it's huge huge huge!!!!

Ooo I haven’t tried that!
I spent 10 hours in awe playing before I even got to constellation lol. 10/10 to me
so are we able to make our own businesses then ?
From what I’ve experienced no, aside from outpost resource collecting and manufacturing:)

I won’t buy it its free on game pass already! 😌
