I've just started an art channel and I've been using a cheap stand up tripod. I put it on it's side with the legs collapsed on a stack of boxes. Then I put a 1kg bag of animal feed on the legs as a counter weight. Then I mount my phone. I've filmed a few videos like this and it's quite effective but I'd like the all in one stand with the light for the sake of space saving. Thanks for the video.
Thanj you for this. I don't even take pictures of myself or others all that often, so was hoping for some tips for tripods and this was great for that. I love that last one, since it has the camera and light built into it.
Thank you. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this. I've heard that it is a good idea to connect the phone that is doing the recording to a secondary tablet so that you can watch the tablet and monitor what you are filming as you're filming. Do you know anything about how to do that?.
The one thing I can't locate online is whether you need a separate monitor to film your videos if you're using your phone; I'm new to this, so I keep thinking you need to see what you're filming to know you're still in range and/or the image is clear.
The camera or back of your phone is facing down. And you are looking at the face of the phone so you can see exactly what you are filming. If you haven’t done it already, search for a video of somebody actually taking the video, showing step-by-step.
@@geegee9991 but that seems odd if it's an overhead shot and you're sitting. If the phone/camera is facing down how can you see? You would have to stand....that's the visual I'm getting. I will try to look up more info....thx
@@yolandal2176 You do need another monitor to make sure you're still in frame; I follow other creators and they've mentioned it before. Doesn't make sense to film for hours and not be able to see what you're doing; you could end up filming a blurred video.
I saw reviews on the first one saying it wasn’t strong enough so I didn’t get it. I think I’m going to stick to the one I have which is the second one!
Hey Jennifer , This was gr8 ! Please could you make a video on how you contact your clients ? Whether you cold call ,cold mail? (And the next question might seem silly 😅) Whether you provide ur contact no,personal email id to ur client ,or you have a diff number & ID for so ? Do u connect with them for conversations on skype or on whatsapp, or signal ,telegram, google meet ,zoom ,Google duo ? Keep uploading such great content😊 and plz do cover this doubt in ur videos too cuz many of the newbies have such doubts!
My tripod has my camera facing down and I struggle to get my videos to record landscape, it always reverts to portrait while I am attaching it. Do you know how I fix this?
hi, could you comment on whether the base in the third one remains visible in the shot when shooting overhead, especially when it is raised a bit further up?
You should be able to extend it upwards as far as possible and then there is a hinge that extends the device outwards to the left. Also try to make sure you position your phone correctly so that it isnt looking at the base. The brand you got should include a guide so you can see what I mean!
It's better to film with a secondary ring light or light off to the side to avoid glare and film at day time near a window to take advantage of natural light.

That's an amazing idea (about the animal feed as a counter weight). It just shows you that you don't need anything fancy to get started!
Thank you so much! Ive been skeptical abt some models and was curious as to which one would be best. The second one is my favorite !
Glad I could help!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge about different overhead tripods! I'm going to be starting an art channel soon. God bless

The last one is the best. ❤

@@Sammy_47 Thank you. I am searching this information and more right now. I have not seen any yt creator mention this. I thought it was just me.

Would the 3rd one flip over if you have a heavy phone?
Thank you for this video, the one with the light seems cool
Great video. Thank you. When you use overhead tripods the phone looks like it is high up. How do you see what you are doing? Can you see your hands?
Hi Jennifer, which would you recommend for sewing tutorials and pattern drafting?
tysm for the cheap options! i wouldve settled for a 34$ one were it not for this video
Mostly all my videos I made this way only using a ring tri pod with a flexible attachment...just bought a new system try for table tops.

Can you recommend any of these for filming videos of me knitting? Would like to see through the camera when I knit
Thank you!! Yes!! It’s was perfect!
You are so welcome!! 🥰
So with the second one , it only works for portrait and not landscape ?

Perfect video thank you for this

I have it. Tbh it slants over because my phone is too heavy for it. Because it slants the bottom does show a little bit
Thank you for sharing.. very informative video 🌸🌺🌼

What's the best overhead phone mount for recording while reading?
Will any of these hold an iPad?
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you.
2:21 - How can we crop a video as you said here?
Plz can you talk about hiresine sites is it real or fake?
I've never heard of it, but based on what TrustPilot says, it seems to be untrustworthy.
Can you make a video on how to get your first order on fivver please
Love from Pakistan ❤️❤️❤️
thanks
How do you record overhead shots with your phone and a ring light without glare or reflection?
It's better to film with a secondary ring light or light off to the side to avoid glare and film at day time near a window to take advantage of natural light.
Good one
how does the last option allow the phone to be horizontal?
It clips on to it and the pole swivels!
The legs keep getting in the shot on my tripod
Make video on rev captioning job how to accept job
