Thanks for the tips. I think I'll need to look into the horizontal arm for the tripod. A few people have suggested I start a TH-cam channel for my drawings but I don't feel the need to record any audio of me speaking. I'll probably just film my drawing and add some royalty-free music. I don't need to be a "TH-cam celebrity" I just want to share my drawing process.

As usual, very informative. Keep in mind also, when you are describing your ideal lighting situation, with natural light, that natural light can be very strong even on a cloudy day, but a piece of lg. white cardboard mounted just out of camera range on the opposite side can provide "bounce" lighting for fill purposes; that helps resolve ( or "fill") the stark shadows that may result. It also looks as though the window you are seated next to is shaded, or translucent, rather than transparent, which is also very useful for diffusing strong natural light.

I do find that an awkward setup to be honest. Instable and it's in the way and you always get your work under an angle, never really straight. I'm using a similar setup with the overhead rail as Ian Barnard uses here, th-cam.com/video/Nxr4PcNXKQc/w-d-xo.html The only thing I changed was using a thinner 15mm rail and different clamps on the tripods for that rail. I'm also using a clamp with ball head so I can turn my camera however I want. For less than $60 I've got a very sturdy, stable setup. Works with a phone, but a much more heavy camera too.

    • @teohyc

I want to ask about the horizontal tripod attachment for down shooting. You said you did a full dedicated video about it but there is no link and I can’t find which video. Would you be able to provide that link?

Thanks so much for the simple tutorial on phone recording and introducing simple equipments to do the job. I really really need that. I been watching so many videos and I am still blurring over it. I am gonna try it. Thank again and looking forward to your next video.
