I concur, I enjoyed the versatility of the weapons in 1 & 2 far more than infinite. I also wish some of the weapons in the Bioshock 2's multiplayer had made their way into the main game. While perhaps overpowered, the different kinds of ammo as well as upgrades granted the players far more tactical choices, freedom in how they wished to proceed. The visible upgrades were also a nice touch, giving players a visible sign their weapon was now more powerful. Hopefully, if there is a new bioshock game, they will use the original weapon styles (multiple ammo and visible upgrades), though perhaps they could have an option to turn off visible upgrades for those who don't want them.
@contriti_on no it's like asking if a truck is a vehicle. All revolvers are pistols, not all pistols are revolvers. All trucks are vehicles, not all vehicles are trucks
Tyler I agree with you almost completely, except for Bioshock 1 my fav has gotta be the Crossbow. The double barrel in 2 just makes me realize how underpowered the Bioshock 1 shotgun is in comparison. But the Bioshock 1 Crossbow has the same effect on the Bioshock 2 Harpoon launcher.
Bioshock 1's shotgun. My god. It's like dropping an anvil from the top of the empire state building every time you fire. Glorious. Infinite's Crank Gun is a close second though. Love that sound too.
This is such a well made video. I love the custom BioShock styled intermission images, and the way you point out exactly what the upgrades change visually, like an instructional film.
Cool video. My favorite weapon was the crossbow from Bioshock 1... I really didn't like that Infinite didn't include visual changes along with upgrades.
ArkhmInmate0801 omg the crossbow, definitely one of my favorites. I used to take down big daddies like it was nothing with that weapon. God the first one was amazing.
They probably didnt include that for the purpose of cutting down work and to retain visual clarity. Granting visual changes was possible when every weapon only had two or three upgrades, but when every weapon has four upgrades it is going to be really difficult to make visual changes without making the thing look cluttered with details. Just take a moment to imagine what the hand cannon would look like with two damage upgrades, a recoil decrease and a reload speed increase. The sleek design would be lost and it would become a mess of details. This issue is compounded by the fact that Infinite has a much larger aresnal of weapons than the previous games, which adds an immense amount of extra work for the developers.

I fell in love with all the shotguns in all three of the games but my favorite weapon would be the shotgun from bioshock2 especially upgraded heheh....and my least favorite weapon would probably be the machine gun in bioshock 2...it really wasnt that good to me
Galahad in a Hat I’m honestly surprised at how much I agree with your statement. When I’m not going a Drill Specialist play through (and by that I mean I don’t use Drill Specialist 90% of the time) I mainly use either the Rivet Gun or the beast shotgun. But I simply couldn’t be bothered with the machine gun. Even fully upgraded, I couldn’t find a realistic opportunity to make use of the ricochet functionality.
@@ZaZi-Zeta01 Ahhhhhh, see THAT'S the difference between our two play styles. YOU use the machine gun because you enjoy the feeling of not getting hit. Bioshock 1 had some really bullet sponge syndrome. Infinite is quite similar but only in harder difficulties and because the nature of the game, but at least you can feel when a bullet hit. Bioshock 2 is the best one of course, being a big daddy you feeling more powerful the longer the game goes on trivializes the shooting, but you can't beat the pacing of those fights.

All those BioShock weapons are so cool that I could wield them to collect ammo types for other enemies, upgrade them for additional effects, and show them my shooting skills in either Rapture or Columbia.

Walking inferno + Electric Flesh tonics can both be used to boost the damage of the weapon, which is great since the base damage of the weapon is so high to begin with. Headhunter tonic boosts this weapon like no other.

So in Bioshock Infinite, you have a handful of plasmids and firearms u can use. From the Hail Maker to the carbine to the trusty pistol. My build was close and far range with me using the shotgun and the carbine (rarely the pistol and machine gun). I had the season pass so i had a gear that increaded ammo in that gun by 75% or so which helped a lot cuz it was 4 shells to 7 shells. Honestly, Bioshock 1's shotgun is exactly like Doom 3's shotgun: terrible. Story-wise, I liked Bioshock 1 the best, but in regards to combat and weapons, Infinite is the best.

Although the downside is you can't collect loots from dead bodies. Machine gun is my go-to weapon for standard enemies. BioShock Infinite - machine gun (upgrades make the difference) and sniper rifle!! I tried to use the carbine, but I still like the machine gun better.
