Arrested over 20 times before he turned 18, Goldie's hockey coaches would pick him up from jail to take him to hockey and back. I watched Billy fight Guelph tough guy Bill Kestell in a wild tier two junior game between Thunder Bay and Guelph. Both teams had talent and toughness and fans knew there was going to be trouble that night. It was quite a fight and that seemed to calm things down and let them play hockey.
I didn't know Stewy played too. I just remember him as a ref. A scrappy player too. What a trip...
