I have brain cancer.

  • An introduction to the new reality of my life with brain cancer (Stage 4 astrocytoma).
    EMAIL : storyofjanesbrain@gmail.com
    I am fighting this from my end with an extremely low carbohydrate healthy ketogenic diet, exercise, and minimising stress.
    If anyone has any helpful tips or success stories related to this approach, please comment or send me an email.
    AUG 2 2023 - Diagnosed with brain tumor
    AUG 4 2023 - Surgery to remove brain tumor
    SEP 14 2023 to OCT 30 - Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy
    OCT … - 4 weeks without treatment, followed by an MRI
    DATE - DATE - Six months of taking a stronger chemotherapy pill five days per month
    On August 2nd 2023, after experiencing increasingly severe symptoms, I was diagnosed with a grade 4 astrocytoma brain tumor.
    On August 4th I had surgery to remove the tumour. They believe they removed ninety-five percent of it, so I will need chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
    For six weeks, from September 14, I will undergo five-days-a-week of precision radiation treatment at the same time as a chemo pill. This will be followed by four weeks of no treatment. Then I will have an MRI, before resuming six months of further treatment. I will be taking a chemo pill for five days each month. This pill will be three times stronger than the one I took during radiation.
    I will be documenting the whole thing here, so if you know anyone who might get something out of it, please share my videos.

    All the best for you. I read that fasting for 8 hrs before and after chemo can help. And adding melatonin to the chemo.

    • @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory
      @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @swyllie I have read that too, regarding fasting. My problem is, I take chemo pills daily, in the evening. I fast afterward (I'm asleep, which helps), but before would be tricky. This advice might just be for people who have less chemo sessions.
      Or maybe I'm just not being hardcore enough...

      Ah yes! Why did we end up with this disease?!? I am indeed grateful for family and friends. Feels like they are doing all of the heavy lifting sometimes. Living in the now for me is actually easier with a cancer diagnosis. It’s something, I guess. My thoughts are with you re the radiation. I hope you have few side effects, and that it gets less scary as your treatment progresses. Love and positive vibes to you my friend.

      @@JaneWhiteheadBrainStory oh and if you can ask the grade it would be nice (grade 1 to 4, Astrocytoma IDH mutant) and the same for wildtype). Oligodendrogliomas have 1 to 3 grades. Best for your treatment!!

    • @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory
      @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ganer77 I have a grade 4 astrocytoma. I do know that much. Stage 4 is bad, but an astrocytoma is not "the bad one" - a gioblastoma - according to the doctors. I made the mistake of googling all this. Never again! Choosing to go with what the docs say at this point. They haven't been phased about sparing me from bad news yet.

    I hope you are well.
    My wife was recently diagnosed with Glioblastoma grade 4.
    Unfortunately, the standard treatment Chemo and Radiotherapy are not effective.
    But, there are alternative treatments such as Ketogenic diet and medical cannabis that are effective treatments.
    Avoid Sugar (Glucose), Carbs and Milk.

    • @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory
      @JaneWhiteheadBrainStory  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with you entirely, and I hope she embarks on a keto (very low carb) diet, both as a tumour management strategy, and something to do that gives her a sense of empowerment and control over her own health. In my case these two things feel like they have equal power in my fight against the tumour.
      I am sorry about the late reply. I only just noticed your message. It was not approved by TH-cam. I have approved it now, so it’s public. My prayers and love to your wife.
