- More filler, wooooo!
Puyo Puyo on the Game Gear has an excellent soundtrack for the system. Mean Bean Machine... kinda doesn't. So I wanted to try making a better one, and I think I succeeded :P
Note that I mostly only covered the tracks that are already in the Game Gear version.
Original composers: Masayuki Nagao, Masanori Hikichi, & David Javelosa

i love this so much i want to illegally download it using a third party website
I'm super glad this's finally gotten you the appreciation you deserve. It's really doing the rounds!
Thank you, that means a lot :]
Well done, i really enjoyed your arrangement here
Very good, better than the original port. My favorite arrangement is the ending theme
dude. you've GOT to do the multi-player theme. it goes SO HARD. best song in the game hands DOWN and I'm so upset it's not here.
this is still really good so I'm gonna subscribe but THAT DOESN'T MEAN I'M HAPPY ABOUT IT 😭😭😭😂😂😂
Sounds better than the official
That was the plan :P Thank you! ^^
so good
damn son
i really dig the noise kick drum. very good work here.
Nice rearrangement of the Game Gear soundtrack!😄🤩😎👌
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is the only 8-bit port that shares the OST with the Genesis original (Sonic 1 and Sonic Spinball have different soundtracks, while Sonic 2 8-bit is a completely different game altogether).
Sonic 1 had green hill and some jingles, at least
@@malachigv I think Sonic Spinball had the title screen, but that's it. But other than those ones, the soundtrack is completely different.
I would definitely buy the Game Gear/Master System version of this game (the MS version was only released in Europe) if you had made this soundtrack back in 1994.
Game Gear inspired songs are kinda cool and under rated.
I'm pretty sure the Game Gear has no stereo support since the soundchip is a mono soundchip.
Edit: Apparently, the Game Gear used a stereo variant of the SN76489.
The Game Gear has a stereo support. I think you're confusing it for the Master System (which indeed only has a mono soundchip).
@@HarisCountrys But that would mean that the Game Gear either has two SN76489, or the Game Gear has another chip that doubles the mono output into stereo output.
EDIT: Nevermind, I checked and it turns out that the Game Gear used a stereo SN76489 variant.
Yeah that's right. The stereo "mod" to the chip is an 8-bit mask that lets you hard enable/disable each of the 4 channels for Left/Right output. It does mean there is no actual transitional panning, just hard left, hard right or centre.
can you do exercise mode furnace game gear arrangement?
I *might,* but it would feel a bit redundant since Puyo Puyo on the Game Gear already includes that track and it's probably better than what I could make anyway. :P
These are great, especially the stage themes which were so monotonous in the game itself compared to their wonderfully catchy 16 bit counterparts.
8 bit Mean Bean is an aesthetic trash bin (besides adding an original background for the final levels). Even stuff they had ready made for them in the 8 bit Puyo was taken out, like the victory fireworks and the Sticker and Final themes for Exercise and VS modes. I will say the game's version of Sunset was surprisingly good though, especially considering it wasn't in the 8 bit Puyo from what I know.
Thank you! Yeah those original 8-bit stage themes could get really grating after a short while; I don't get why they were pitch-shifted up so much when the bassline could already fit snugly in the Game Gear's mediocre frequency range just one octave higher, and the very weak percussion along with basically every sound effect playing on the noise channel doesn't help matters.
Sunset was indeed absent from Game Gear Puyo, and the version in Mean Bean is definitely one of the best tracks in the game. ...That isn't really saying much, but still :P
I can't tell if it's 8 channels or Left and Right audio.
Left and Right :]
WHY DOES THE BASSLINE SOUND LIKE SPAMTON
