    Everything you say is such a reality. The easier we try to make our relationships the worst they get and we end up being taken for granted and ultimately broken up with! We need to stop focusing on the relationship and our significant other, 90% percent of the time. We need to have boundaries, work together and allow them to put in their efforts as well!

    This is one of your best videos. I set boundaries with my DA and she said I can't do that. I said OK but I have needs too and if they are not met or at least tried to be met I cannot see a future in the relationship. She was very upset at first but began to understand that I had a right to set boundaries. She also began to realize what a great relationship we had and how we both had contributed to the relationship. It is still not easy but I feel much better about myself.

      What boundaries did you set for her?

    Thank you, yes I agree with everything you're saying. It's not about running after someone in order to be depending on them. It's about finding yourself again after you lost yourself while chasing after someone else's approval. You don't need anyone else's approval. Be yourself, value yourself and let the right person come to you. If the person you're dealing with still cares about you then they will naturally come back to you and respect you more.
    Be yourself, find yourself, do your own thing, increase your own self-worth and value and stay strong and positive and what will be will be. If it wasn't meant to be, then let that be also.
    Let go of the need to be attached to something that didn't work and open the possibility of allowing what does actually work, naturally enter your life because you allow it to.. in the process find your own self-worth, so you have to more to bring to a relationship in the future also. So that way you create a win-win situation all round. Respect others, respect yourself. Find your own inner happiness, and in the end everyone will be happy.
    After your video Alexis, I was literally thinking, it's like we live in a world nowadays where relationships have become so easy that they also become too easy to dismiss at the same time, so nobody values them any more. Evidently if you are more scarse or more rare and more unique then you naturally increase that value.

    I feel this is one of the best life lessons there is. Because of the background I come from we were taught to be servers. It took years to learn what it meant to value myself because. I thought setting strong boundaries was against serving others. Now to be able to help my children see the importance of requiring even those we love to respect us by learning how to respect ourselves. Thank you so much for your service to others!!!

    I'm not sure what advice for people you meet on dating apps
    The moment you set a minimum boundary, they are gone

    I stood for what my beliefs are.. my ex has a ‘problem drinking’ it’s lead to many years of pain before I came on scene I had a problem with it from day 1 but the stone gathered speed and momentum.. he ran into trouble for the third time and I thought he wanted change however it was forced on him not became he wanted to.. I carried him in my shoulders as I was climbing the ladder which has nearly killed me.. his actions and words didn’t match

    Do ppl look for the weakness in others in order to feel superior? Is that the reason why they look for a weakness?

    Hi Alexis, I have a question. Me and my DA ex broke up two months ago after 2.5 years because we had a toxic relationship (I have an anxious attachment style) that ended because he told me that if he has not cheated on me with camgirls is because it's too expensive (I think he has a porn addiction) . I was shocked and we had a fight and he left me. We work together and now he chases me,he asks me how I am,what i am doing,ecc. And he talks to me like nothing bad happened even if he has never apologized. I don't like this,should I tell him or should I keep seeing what he really wants from me acting like this?

    • @liliaaaaaaaa
      @liliaaaaaaaa ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not a counsellor, but I can tell you something, if you don't stick up for yourself, he'll just continue doing what he does and then acting like nothing happened. If you don't stand up for your beliefs and your morals and tell him what he has to do to make it up to you then he won't change. So you have to be strong too, and make him respect you and tell him what you want from him to make it right by you, otherwise he'll just exploit your anxiety as your weakness and vulnerability. Calm your own anxiety and be strong in yourself, and let him run to you. It'll be the best present you can give yourself and your relationship.

    Hi Alexis, how are you? I’ve been watching your YT for over 2 months now. I have a Q…
    I’ve implemented NC (60+ days) EXCEPT my EX (a DA) lives a block away from me (downtown sea of people), but we keep running into each other. Last 2 encounters, we just waved at each other and I walked on by. It keeps my NC interrupted. I moved on already and dating again, but part of me still want her. I don’t want to change my lifestyle bec of her. Any input?

      There is no harm talking with her. Maybe you have no chance and you are still unconsciously contemplating getting back with her (and so you date without really any chance of success)
