Pauter engines are awesome but they start at like $25,000. I would be interested in seeing what the 3.3 engine in this bug would do set up with dual carbs. Like the largest webers. I used to be amazed with turbo power but as I am getting older I am getting more in to "all motor" builds. Like 200hp with no forced induction or power adders.. This bug is cool good for him.!!
I have a 67 with a 2276cc mild cam dual big port,big valve heads, 44mm Weber carbs, and I drive it on the street. Sounds stock at idle. I Cruise to the beach and to small cruise ins. Not a Dailey driver. Me and my father restored it when I was 18 years old, 32 years ago lol. It will Run 13.20s. I love VW's!! Also live the big muscle cars without a doubt. But I could never part with my bug. Would like to do a turbo though.
I would love to see an in depth breakdown of this car... never heard of such a crazy animal I wonder what size Pauter engine he's running and how it's built

@@ajseuol1864 I have a 2332 it's using CB performance heads and I've got 48 mm Weber's on it...I love a good flat four they sound wicked once you get the compression up a bit and feed them well
@@thedubwhisperer2157 with a type 1 block? you cant go more than a 94mm bore even with smaller head studs, and you cant get more than an 84mm crank either. The type 4 / porsche 914 motor can go that big, but no a stock beetle block cant go that big
@@r.a.p.k.models4160 how is a front engine air cooled? I've never seen an air cooked vw that's converted to a front engine.... not that it's not possible but why go air cooked if you're going through the trouble of relocating the motor and transmission?

This beetle was in the current issue of Hot VW’s and I was suprised to find it has a front engine layout with Pauter pieces throughout. Cool as hell!

It's a built 2180 but he's using Porsche piston return springs. That's why it sounds like that
