    • @FrankieBlueEyes
      @FrankieBlueEyes 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @WillSavage I'm not disputing that he was a great player. He was the 4th best player of his era. My only contention is that he is often included as part of a "Big 4," when really it was a "Big 3." He was a distant 4th. And that's not a criticism, and there is no shame in that. It's just facts. Unfortunately for him, arguably the 3 greatest players of all time had parts of their primes during his time as a player.

    • @WillSavage
      @WillSavage 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FrankieBlueEyes your intial comment was not so nuanced, it was a visceral reaction to somebody crediting AM. Your need to immediately blurt out that he lost a lot of them was completely pointless, everyone knows he doesn't have a winning record against them but you still felt the need to write it for some reason.

    All the best for your post-tennis life Andy, loved watching you from afar as a Brit living in Switzerland. To achieve the following in the era of the big 3 is completely insane:
    3 GS
    2 Olympic Golds
    11 GS finals
    10 GS semi finals
    1 ATP tour finals title
    14 Masters 1000 titles
    Year-end No1 ranking (only other guy to do this other than the big 3 between 2004 and 2021)
    He was absolutely the best of the rest, yes he was clear of Del Potro and Wawrinka. The big 3 would always want to avoid him in the big tournaments, always. He's also beaten the big 3 a combined 29 times, way more than anyone else.
    Big love to you Andy.

      Andy won 12/16 big trophies fed 13/16. I think wav won 6/16. People that only look at slams love to suggest Andy was just a challenger alongside wawrinka but looks at the full tennis calendar 2008-2016 Andy was far more comparable to big three and thats why there was 'big four' for so long as people expected Andy to not get injured and accrue more slams, he was also constantly winning / taking trophies off the big three. Wawrinka just had 3 crazy anomaly slams
