Now that i read this, it's kind of ironic that zero was defated this why since. The reason zeros attacks did not work is because they are made from his own powers. In a way this "summoning infinite super robots" is literally koji using zeros powers in a more flexible way to bring imaginary ideas influenced/inspired by mazinger to life, instead of just using them as straight forward as Mazinger Zero. The funny thing is Zero would have one if he wasn't such a petty brat, since he would have realised it was koji generating those ghost via there link and just cut the link off before absorbing everything else.
Plus I guess it also like this, the machine can be as powerful as it wants but it cannot be completely without its pilot.

Okay Grendizer, ok the Getter machines, ok even Jeeg... but Voltes, Raideen, Daitarn, Gunbuster and Gundam RX 78 II was really too much in a Mazin story.

So I have a question. Playing the role of an anti mazinher fan here. Why is it that zero's attack didn't work on every giant robot in attendance? Koji specifically said that it doesn't work on things he can't recognize

First, yes. It applies to the silhouettes. Second, the power of the world’s non-Mazinger mecha imagination is ZERO’s ONLY weakness. Third, yes. If ZERO isn’t as petty as the average fanboy who prefers his fanfic and ONLY his fanfic rather than other fictions, he would’ve realized that he inspired everyone to imagine other non-Mazinger robots and summoned those silhouettes.

@@uzumazin5099 not really, koji explained a few chapters earlier that the photon energy was something that not even him, who has abilities from zero could fully understand, koji used his Zero abilities to morph photon energy into concepts, said concepts where all mechas, other mechas looked fuzzy because at that moment the existed only in its authors head. Koji refers to pjoton energy as the light of possibilites, Zero cannot harm anything created by its own power and enchanced by photon energy.
This exact phenomenon was used at the end of the Shin mazinger Zero, and koji explained that it wasnt becasue of mazingers bkack boxes, it was something else, photons can turn thoughts into reality, and thats what koji used to defeat gordon hell. He repeated the same process against Zero knowing that he cannot harm anything made out of photon energy, and Koji used it's powers to allow everyone to harm Zero before it became too powerful (remember that koji was sent to fight against that zero before he became a God in the distant future)
