Another live version of this song was sung on the WishBUS in Hollywood on October 20th, 2024, and they've released their music video on the WishUSA channel yesterday. Aside from the fact that she sang this song, along with 7 other brand new songs, for the first time in a studio back in 2022, Republic Records put them on a shelf for over two years. Maybe this is the reason she decided to buy herself out-I'm not sure-but obviously, the contract she had with them didn't match up to what she wanted to do. There was an audio version of the jazzy version that was about a month old; however, in the last couple of days, a new music video has been released with that same audio track, and it's of Angelina Jordan in a long white dress, barefoot, sitting in front of a piano being played by Toby Gad-in a desert scene in Southern California. Every song she sings, including “Bad Valentine," sounds different because she’s known as the girl with 1,000 voices. She changes things based on emotion. This jazzy version of “Bad Valentine” has a totally different key; it’s completely slowed down, and it shows Angelina Jordan and her mastery of her jazz roots in this, and after 2 years, it's become such a sad and melancholic song that’s actually, what I consider, a masterpiece. ❤️

Reportedly, when AJ signed with Republicans Records/UMG she was their “highest priority muscician” but agreed to hold off until she completed High School (earlier this year.) Recounted many times, Toby and Angelina had written and recorded 6-8 new songs which ,although lauded by the executives, were NOT included on AJ’s EP (Old Enough) and sounds like RR continued to sit on their hands- hence buying out her contract (and prior recordings).
When you see Angelina live, it is an experience that you will never forget! I had the pleasure of attending her Vegas show and it was hands down the best concert I've ever been to, as far as pure music is concerned. The funny thing is, this is probably the only time you will hear this version as next time she sings it live she will change it up. She can't help herself, if she thinks of a new wrinkle to the song she will go with it. Also this is not the jazzy version. She slows it down, modifies the melody does ad libs & adds a ton of emotion. It's her best work, to date, IMO. It's a vocal Masterpiece that some have said has reached #1 in Europe. She is known for re-imagining iconic songs from the past, like Bohemian Rhapsody or Billie Jean, but this is the 1st time she has re-imagined her own original. Just her, Toby Gad on piano, a violinist and cellist. PS : NEWS FOR YOU JOHNNY : Angelina is no longer on the artist singer list of Republik Records 🤷♂️ as a younger artist singer 😲! Angelina's team bought Angelina from Republik Records for a few million! because RR didn't promote Angelina enough! Now we'll see if Angelina continues with Toby "Kite Music" or another record label 🤷♂️! My concern and speculation (no proof of course) is that RR attributed to AJ and her team some violation of the contract and the fee is a "plea bargaining" agreement to avoid consequences, possibly and hopefully because there is a new label to support financially the Fee!
