- Howzit gang, sorry for the delay tonight in releasing this vid. Many obstacles was tryna keep a Bruddah from getting this vid to the people! Anyways on this day Myself, Fishdroppah and my son head out to a easy "pull to the side of the road" kinda spot in East Oahu. Beautiful crystal clear waters there. We drop the lines in and Fishdroppah gets much action--small kine---while I get much great footage on the fishcam. Also an unexpected visitor pops in on my fishcam! oh and much comedy as we have some peeps that wanna use my poles as a backdrop for their insta-modeling career 😖. Just a great day overall. Give you a tip I got from my father-in-law from Maui we were fishing for Onaga. Large fish jumping in boat I got fish spines in the hand ! Dad pulls out a rusted cap container blue glass jar tells me to rub it into the pokes instant pain relief what was that ointment ? Vicks VapoRub the Maui cure all ! Always carry Small jar in your fishing bag ! It stops the pain and burning

Brah! Watching this video reminded me of when I was a little kid, and my dad used to take me fishing. This was in the mid/late 70's. I would be so excited to go, but then, when we got to the beach, I would only be getting scolding the entire time by my dad. "Ehhh! Watch where you cast your line! You almost wen tangle dat other guy's line!", "Ehhh! Boy! Before you cast, look behind you to make sure nobody passing by!"; "Ehhh! Throw your rubbish away before da ting fly in da water!", "Ehhhh boy! No put the fishing rod on the ground, b4 someone step on 'em and broke da tip off!", "Ehhh! Portagee! Watch the reel, you stay get 'em in the sand!!", "Ehhh! Lolo! Dust all the sand off of your feet b4 you come inside da car!" At that time, it made me kinda dislike going fishing with him because I was constantly getting corrected by him.
But now that I am an old man, I now understand that my dad was truly teaching me how to be respectful of the ocean, of other fisherman, respectful of my equipment, and just teaching me how to have basic common sense. I can tell Rhino was taught in the same way as I was because I can tell by the way he also teaches his son. Makes sense because me and Rhino is probably about the same age, so I'm guessing both of our fathers were from the same generation as well. No nonsense that generation. My dad used to straight up call me "dummy" when I deserved it. Actually way worse than that. When I would put my rubbish down and forget to clean it up, he would tell me, "Ehh, don't be an assh%*e and leave you rubbish." I have a son too, and now I do the same as my dad did to me. I think he often gets sick of me always telling him what to do, but I gotta teach him. And I hope one day, many years from now, he will also look back and realize why I did what I did.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3y yeah Bruddah C-i believe that part of the reason a lot of the new generation are either very disrespectful or very self-involved is a direct reflection of their parents-some may think I’m a little harsh with the kids, or why would I post certain scenes of me bossing em around--it’s all by design-I really can be a softy with my kids most times but I really hope that other Lawai’a who watch my vids can see it’s ok to be firm and at times a little bit harsh-and maybe find a middle ground with their own kids. My son is really smart and introspective and he understands the father/son dynamic we have…I am truly blessed-💯-good thing he takes after his mom 😂🤙🏽🤙🏽
