Such a brilliant description of magic loop. Makes complete sense.

I know this is an old video. I hope the lady gets this comment. I watched LOTS of videos on magic loop and you're video is the one that finally made sense to me! Thank you so much!

This is amazing, thank you very much! I have never bothered to knit in a loop because I wanted to avoid knitting with 4 needles. I am going to try the magic loop asap.

I forgot to say that yours is the first magic loop tutorial that showed the binding off with that last stitch left on the back needle! When I'd been trying before yours, the first time I totally messed up, then I managed but made it more difficult for myself by pulling that back needle with the single stitch out all the way and the stitch then was very loose on the cable. Got better as I've done more but yours just gave me that epiphany moment as you just pulled the needle right next to the front needle and it seemed so normal, lol! Thanks. I hope to see more Magic Loop videos to help me as I slowly advance. I'd love to do a sweater top down ML but don't have the courage yet

I'm so happy seeing a video on Magic Loop. After only have learned and done straight needle knitting it seems forever, I was able to teach myself my first circular knitting and chose Magic Loop method. I don't see many videos with it or knitting patterns and sometimes I'm not sure if it matters or not when a pattern uses 4 dpns if I just divide them in half for half on each of my needles. Is there a good way to do that? Sometimes they'll have more on one dpn and then shorter amount on the other two for different parts of a small project and I'm not sure. Still learning new things on it but I've done fingerless gloves and thumbs with the thumb gusset with ML. Thanks!

Hi Cathy! When converting patterns from using DPNs to Magic Loop, I will sometimes place stitch markers to alert me to where the DPNs were if their placement is critical to the pattern. Then you can continue on as your normally would using this handy technique!

Thanks, good to know! I love Magic Loop. I'm so glad I decided to choose that as the way to finally learn doing circular from videos :)

Really like this, my question is how do I use yarn over if it falls at the beginning or the end of the needle?

Hi Ann - great question! A yarn over on magic loop isn't out of the question. If you find yourself needing to yarn over at the end of your section of cording, try setting up for the other side first, then yarning over. It may help to slip a stitch marker over your yarn over to remind yourself to work it as a normal stitch in the next row (if that's what your pattern instructs!) Happy knitting - and let us know if you need further help!

Thanks for the excellent video. I have 1 question
Could you tell me how to avoid ladders, or there won't be any ladders? Thank you.

Thanks for writing in! The beauty of the magic loop method is that is it less likely to cause ladder issues that are more common with double pointed needles. Hope this helps!

Excellent video. Please, can you tell me how can I remember when the round is completed? Have I to use a marker? If so, where have I to place it?

Place the marker one-in from the last stitch on whichever side contains your first stitch. I haven't tried magic loop yet, but seems right.
