Nice video! I've got a 96inch landpride and it's amazing how much the top-link adjustment makes a difference in the finish. I've found with each pass im adjusting it off, but ive got pretty much all gravel/sand mix on my 1/4 mile driveway
I maintain a 3/4 mile limestone gravel lane with a Landpride box grader. I have a JD5045 with a hydraulic top link. I alternate with a neighbor that has a Woods land plane/grader. He can't do it unless the gravel is dusty dry or he gets clumps that roll over the blades and leave a pattern of gravel mounds that are about as bad as washboard. I've never heard that land planes can't be used on moist gravel. Last week I rough graded it and he was supposed to fine grade it. Made such a mess I had to go back over it and fine grade it with my box. It wasn't that wet. Just enough to keep the dust down. Any ideas what he might be doing wrong? Does this come down to top link adjustment?
Sounds like y'all have a lot of clay in your gravel. Maybe he can run over it and make the clumps and come back the next day and run over it again when the clumps are dried out. I've got my blades set about 1/2 below the side runners. Maybe he has the blades set to deep.

I agree. It takes a lot of adjustment. Have you ever thought about getting a hydraulic center link?

Great project.
Thank you!
I am buying a 75hp 4wd. Do you think the additional traction of the 4wd will be sufficient to overcome the 80hp hurtle? Thank you
Honestly I don't know, but you could always get a 7' or 6' wide unit and I'm sure it would be fine
Looks like the road is to dry...works much better after rain
It does work the best a couple days after a rain. Around here though it either rains 5 inches or none for 2 months
Are you running the 3 pt in float position or fixed?
It's fixed
@@LewisRenovation um...pretty sure you mean float.
The circles were definitely aliens
Is that why my family's been acting strange?
@@LewisRenovation LOL!
How far below the side boards are your blades set?
Blades are about 1/2" lower than the rails
Is that an 8 footer?
Yes, 8 feet wide
What part of the country are you located?
Central Texas near Temple. How about you?
@@LewisRenovation Lancaster County, PA. I just bought a 7’ Woods grading scraper for our 1/3 of a mile farm lane.
Hope you enjoy the implement. It's a great tool for long roads
