Yes, I watched several videos about, you need to be careful by choosing the notary, and in any case do it over a notary.

I'm too old to want to buy anything (69) but am thinking of maybe finding someone that has a couple of hectares and would lease me a corner plot to build a small home bit by bit. I have a steady and healthy retirement income to build with and could just draw on it as needed. When I pass in 10-15 years they inherit the house. Think anyone might go for that?

Hi there. I think such an arrangement could work well. It could work well for both parties because one of the issues can be that property owners sometimes feel uncertain about leaving their property unattended. If someone owned a reasonable piece of land it would be good to have someone else living on the same section. This is not to suggest there's anything particularly dangerous but an unattended property can be vulnerable to opportunistic thieves (wherever you live). If you like please email us as we might be interested in such an arrangement.

@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay Yes, I will. I'm looking at temporary residence in Asuncion while looking around for a more permanent location. I've researched your area Piribebuy, Caapupe, Altos, and others but only by riding around and speaking with residents can one really decide. Things in the Northern Hemisphere are deteriorating daily and many are considering relocation, and even though I like Guatemala I don't think I will return for many reasons. I also have some interesting ideas for business that due to Paraguay's low electricity costs (.05 cents per Kwh) could be highly viable. I'll keep in touch, keep up the posts, always interesting!

It's just a name. But compared to many places Paraguay is very good value in many respects.
