🇬🇧 If I remember correctly, the late Queen Elizabeth suggested that Catherine wear more broaches , so as to look more princessy. So , it's my opinion that Catherine isn't really interested in jewellery. Early photos of Catherine don't show her wearing jewellery very much.
Kate is her own woman. Let's not forget she has her own mother, not Diana. She has to create her own style not copy Diana 90% of the time & be photographed in the same scenarios as Diana did e,g dresses Diana wore after birth of her children, dresses Diana wore at some engagements). Its all well & good keeping Diana's memory in clothes, styles & jewellery, but it seems to be enforced by RF gang of stylists or even as far as to say, William wants to see his wife 'revamp' his mother's styles (Bates of the Psycho movie comes to mind).
I think it's more that they have similar figures so the same style of clothes will suit them both. If Catherine was more like Beatrice or Zara with her body shape/height then the same clothes styles WOULDN'T suit her. There are only so many styles you can wear unless you go for ones that are wear once and get rid of because they are so outrageous either in colour or design. Catherine rewears her items time and again and the only way to do that is with classic styles - same as Charles and Anne are wearing clothes from the 60s/70s I could see Catherine wearing clothes from the 20teens in 2050, because she choose classic styles that can easily be changed with small alternations or additions in the form of accessories. I've also noticed that many of the clothes they claim are ''in homage to Diana'' [same applies to many they claim Megsy wears copying Diana] are actually NOTHING like the original. There are only so many colours and basic patterns so you are inevitably going to get similarities, but wearing similar colours eg beige and cream, pale pink, a black hat, green and black dress/accessories does NOT mean you are copying Diana but merely choosing from a limited range of colours (ignoring all the different hues within a colour there are really only variations on red, blue, green, yellow, black, white, purples/mauves and browns. And in that group you are ALWAYS going to end up with a combination that ''mimics/pays homage to'' Diana. But she also wears items similar to ones I've seen Anne and Sophie wear but strange they NEVER claim either of them are wearing clothing copying/paying homage to them. Only ever Diana and I'm beginning to find it annoying. I suspect Catherine might be feeling the same way too. She's her own woman and well able to make her own choices, she DOESN'T need to copy Diana and there is no way anyone would expect her to, not even William. Plus she's prettier, much prettier, than Diana ever was. Better taste as well for that matter.

To be honest, I'd say she has more sense and in fairness, who would want to be constantly compared to a woman who is either a virtual saint on a pedestal (she wasn't in reality unfortunately and William would know that very well indeed) or who has a reputation for sleeping around, stalking men who turned her down, breaking up marriages, manipulating the media and having one face in public and a totally different = and not nice - one in private.
