Attended my first Alabama Concert at age 8 I’m now 42 years old and over 100 shows later multiple June Jams and literally moved to Fort Payne Alabama later! These guys will always be family to me and the music will never die! I will do anything to protect there legacy! !!!
I have been listening to Alabama for many years!! My mama and daddy saw yaw in Myrtle Beach at the Bowery I wasn’t old enough to get in but I have had the honor to see yaw in Charlotte NC 2xs once with my good friend and we waited to get yaws autographs and let me just say it was worth it because I even got a peck (kiss) from Randy I have had to move around several times and I really don’t know if I still have yaws autographs!! I saw Jeff standing over to the side before the concert I tried to get him to let me backstage I said we could be kin my last name is (was cook) he said I’m sorry but I really can’t do that and I respected him for that if he let everyone who said that they might be kin to him that might be a lot of people!! But the concert was awesome!! Ohh I live in Myrtle Beach now and with the ccmf Carolina Country Music Festival being there in June every year I haven’t been to any of the concerts just can’t afford it!! You guys are amazing singers my son really loves yaws music too!!

ROLL ON! THE GREATEST MUSIC EVER MADE IS ALABAMA MUSIC! TRUE MUSIC FOR THE SOUL!!!!!! ALWAYS AND FOREVER ALABAMA MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE AND WE WILL ALWAYS KEEP THE FIRES BURNING!
I don’t see this as sad like sone comments say, I see this musicians still doing what they love to do, play and sing together. Everyone misses Jeff, no one more than these guys his family. I think he’d be happy they are still doing what they’ve done for years, make great music!
I agree with the "Jeff would love this" comments. The boys are doing what they started out to do- do what they love as long as they can, and "Pass It On Down" while they are doing it.
A band who's music will truly never die. My grandparents were born and raised in Fort Payne, Alabama. Knew all these guys and their families. Great individuals!
I went to see them in Ottawa last night, 24th Aug 23. Sure Randy has definitely lost a step, and seems to struggle at times, but Teddy still seems spry. The backing band is fantastic especially the female fiddle player, she rocks. Still nice to see them playing.
My band opened for Alabama back on April 15, 1981 in Denison, Tx. Got to talk to them for a long time and got autographs and pictures. They were a nice group of guys. RIP Jeff.
This generation doesn't realize that Alabama was the first Country super group no other country act was selling out large venues and crossing over to other radio markets till they came along.

That's for sure.....they were together a very long time....nothing lasts forever. I was in a country band that did alot of Alabama cover songs.....Randy looks bored. Also it seems something happened to Randy's guitar......that also looks like Gordon Mote on keyboards. He originally started with the Gaither Homecoming Grp as their piano player, then eventually went out on his own, also writing his own songs. Probably also did alot of session work, and stuff like this.....I loved Jeff's playing.
Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry have kept it going in the wake of Jeff Cook’s passing. They managed to work in “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” in the middle of “Dixieland Delight.” They were great!
Both, but specifically the fiddle. The first time I recall her publicly playing fiddle with Randy was the 2007 season finale of Nashville Star and then in June of 2007 at his farm. That video can also be found on my channel.
This is a great show, and I would have paid good money to see it, but Randy seems to be struggling here. I realize he is 73 years old. It just seems like his heart isn't into it. There are plenty of other performers around his age who still put on a great show. Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, and George Strait are a few who come to mind right away. I know it isn't the same without Jeff there with them, but if they are going to keep performing, they need to try to raise the bar just a little bit.
@@kellychristianson1037 I believe I had heard or read that. I'd forgotten but it is bittersweet to see him still doing what he loves. I know what it's like to have your health go south while you're trying to go north. He deserves to go out doing it on his terms now. Or him, God and family.
I too was very taken back. Now granted, I'm not in the know what exactly went down, but the judge sided with Mark in the lawsuits they levied against him. Also it was devastating when Randy made a comment to the effect that Mark was never a part of the group, just a hired musician???? You got to kidding me. Funny Mark was on every album cover, and spoke many times back in the eighties when this group was huge. Seems greed corrupts everyone. So sad indeed!!
Randy seems very Lethargic. I know he's 73 but moving like 93. This is not him. I choose to remember him from earlier years. Video's I've seen of him even maybe 3 years ago is night and day. I'm a huge Alafan and alway's have been. Randy is not the same though. js i'm worried about him though.
Randy looks like he’s aged 20 years in the past 3. I know he was having a problem with some bad headaches a year or so ago. I hope they weren’t a symptom of something. His voice has just suddenly vanished.
this is very rough to listen to..2 guys left to carry the name on!!!no jeff,no mark?its all about money now!!!used to be only 4 guys needed to be on stage, now they need like 8 plus!!time to retire!!randy looks so lost on this and the last few tours!!!
They sound terrible and slow as hell and I know they're old but hell that's not even worth listening to and I was a Hugh Alabama Fan but I guess I was in the 80s and I'll have to listen to them on my old record player
If you were such a fan, why don’t you do a Google search and find out the health battles Randy’s been facing before writing an insensitive and dismissive comment like you did. It took me 5 seconds to look it up. Try showing compassion for people having a hard time. You never know, you may find yourself in their shoes and need some compassion one day.
I’ve been a fan of Alabama since way back in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina when they were a bar band at the Bowery, and I bought all their records after they made it big, hell, I even joined their fan club, so don’t give me shit when I say, isn’t about time they hung it up? I mean they screwed over Mark Herndon the best drummer they’ll ever have, & Jeff is dead; so take it to the house boys it was over a long time ago. You can’t need the money, you stole it all.
Absolutely Love Alabama but the bearded hippy they got to cover jeffs spot absolutely sucks.. I don’t like that man. He absolutely is not a good representative for the group.
Rest in peace, Jeff , you are sorely missed!!
Jeff was a super nice guy. After a concert he sat down beside us and visited with us while people were getting autographs
Good job guys. R I p to Jeff.
Mark should be there. Randy needs to bury the hatchet with Mark.
Love this song
When did Jeff die. I knew he was in bad shape but didn't know he died
When it was just the 4 of them ,that was when they were great !

So glad im old enough to remember them back in the day. They are just a shell of what they once were.
Gotta remember they are in their early 70's now.
Saw them last week in NOLA, made it 4 songs… time to hang it up boys….. bourbon street was a freaking blast!!😜

Thanks for sharing your video. I enjoyed watching. Take care and God Bless.
What a great song about THE Great State of Tennessee! I feel just like I am there.

Total Superstars. Love the violin girl. She is fantastic and having the time of her life. You can see that!

❤
Howdy
I got a kiss from Randy Owen when I was 15 at Coshocton county fair (Ohio) swore I'd never wash my cheek again we love u Alabama!!!!!!!!
Not the same without them signature harmonies with Jeff.
Randy is showing his age it's sad knowing all my favorite singers are dying off
Bravissimi.😊
Roll Tide! Play it Alabama!💗

They have been doing that for the past number of years. It’s a nice rendition
😊
Bring back Herndon.
Maybe see you next time enjoy your music Randy
How long has she been playing the violin for Alabama
Megan has been playing with Randy since 2007.
@@MichaelSSmith-hs5pw The fiddle or other background instruments.

Sorry to hear Jeff died rest in peace

It did look as though Randy was struggling or slow. He is a cancer survivor, it may have taken alot out of him.
Definitely appears to be slow and somewhat detached.
No energy at all!
He suffers from Vertigo and Migraines, when you have Vertigo, you don't want to move very fast.
@@kellychristianson1037 I believe I had heard or read that. I'd forgotten but it is bittersweet to see him still doing what he loves. I know what it's like to have your health go south while you're trying to go north. He deserves to go out doing it on his terms now. Or him, God and family.
Is Randy ok. He doesn’t act like he was feeling very good
Yeah, he looks to be one nap away from a coma.
He’s had a lot of health issues in the past. Cancer, vertigo, migraines.
Is that Gordon Mote on piano ?
The one and only
randy doesnt seem like hes ok
Well, he had cancer, has vertigo and migraines, so he’s got some health issues, but that voice is still intact!
Rip Jeff Cook.
Randy seems like he is struggling bad. It wasn’t even him singing, his mouth was barely moving.
He is singing. You can tell, cause that ain’t the studio version. His voice is still there, his health really isn’t.
It feels like they are just phoning it in.
which one is Jeff randy Owen was the lead singer then he had a Brother or two and cousin
This made me sad.
Was this the show in Brandon Mississippi
West Palm Beach, FL
Not bad for guys in there 80's
Randy is 73
Just not the same without Jeff
😢he is clearly dead in side he isnt moving around or nothing like he use to he use to get into the music he was singing haveing fun 😢😢😢😢😢
Who stepped in to play guitar ?
Which is Jeff ???????????
Jeff passed away in 2022.
Randy visibly looks so sad now that Jeff is gone. This is hard to watch.
Sad to see. Randy Owen a shell of his former self
Time to hang it up boys. Love you, but this is sad.
RANDY LOOKS BORED.
Lost all respect for them when they screwed Mark

That sounds Absolutely NOTHING like Randy Owen. It sounds like a Completely Different Singer. They're gonna play as long as they can.
Gotta love Megan on the fiddle, Randy seems really.... odd in this video..
He’s unfortunately aging faster than others.
this is very rough to listen to..2 guys left to carry the name on!!!no jeff,no mark?its all about money now!!!used to be only 4 guys needed to be on stage, now they need like 8 plus!!time to retire!!randy looks so lost on this and the last few tours!!!
Wow its time to hang it up buddy…
You hang it up
He could barely move…kinda sad.
Put him in the pasture
He sounds great to me
They sound terrible and slow as hell and I know they're old but hell that's not even worth listening to and I was a Hugh Alabama Fan but I guess I was in the 80s and I'll have to listen to them on my old record player
