You didn't mention it but, if you start with a background that has Targeting like the Bounty Hunter, you can capture one of the Crimson Fleet ships during the tutorial before you go to the Kreet Facility. Not sure if they vary but the one I captured had some pretty good lasers and decent missiles and shield. No bed in the main hull and only 200 cargo. So if you wanted to skip Constellation for a role play build you can get that ship.
Just a tip: I found it is slightly more expensive to register ships through the guy.. if you press H(default) it will bring you to the ship menu and register the ship through that menu instead
Is this into the section where the inventory can be found and the other bits like skills?
@@dangerwolfsbanegaming Yes, the menu where you can either access the inventory, skills, star map, and the ship.. enter the ship menu and it should say register at the bottom right

While you CAN go sell the contraband, you can also just put it in the ships cargo and jettison it to save time. While it's got a high base value, your actual payout is MUCH less. It's always in the misc section and has a yellow marker on it.
Apparently the crews of the ships you capture were not aware that you had just shot the shit out of it and boarded. So you board and surprise them making lunch.
I've found its cheaper to register your ship while in space, preferably after you take it over.

You can take over on the ship on ground. Just kill the crew on the ship. You will find them outside the cities near the mines.
Sometimes when on planet you will hear/see a ship pass over and land nearby. This can be a good chance to run over and board. If unlucky the ship will takeoff before you can board.
Lol this happened to me, I ran up the ship ramp and was about to board, but the ship started to take off and the door closed so I thought I was trapped but I glitched out of the ship about a 100 ft in the air
@@nickwilkins1025 i once got in that way and got taken up into space first time ship exploded cause pirate in UC space then reload welp still on ship had to rush to the front to kill captain then enemies stop fireing at the ship XD

What keys do you use when you are using a controller?
It would be nice if you could ask one of your companions with a max level piloting skilled to fly the larger ship to port if your leadership skill is high enough.

Docking option in combat only happens if target ship has no shields, engines disabled, and inside 500m range.
So what happens to your original ship after you’ve flown off in your new one? Can you access it from space ports, or is it just kind of stuck floating in space where you left it?
It goes with you, unseen. When your at any spaceport the old ship will be in your inventory and you can choose the old ship again if you wish, and "Make it your homeship". All the ships you own will be shown in your inventory when asking the ship tech what ships he has to sell.

@@NOOBLETS What about if your ship has more cargo than the ship you're capturing? The game tells you the cargo will be moved from your home ship to the new ship, so how does it choose what gets jettisoned? This is why I haven't kept a ship yet, because I don't want to lose my hard earned cargo.
@@Gottaculat It will overload your cargo. When you look in the cargo screen is will say something like 1300/220. (or whatever you had in your previous ship) You won't be able to add anything new to it till you take the overload away.
I'm also a packrat, but am trying to get in the habit of keeping my cargo mostly empty for loot when I go out. Don't forget you can sell from your ship's cargo at vendors.
Another thing you should do is put some ship parts into your captured ship's cargo hold to do repairs before you undock. (and before it overloads it)
What’s the best weapon to use to cause minimal damage to the ship but maximum damage to the engines?
They are called EM suppressors, and they do minimal to no damage to the hull of the ships.

I want to be a space pirate in the game, however if you in area with more than 3 ships do you have to kill them all?
How do you get your old ship back?
Like if you just wanna sell the captured one?
Can you call them to landing pads or something? Does there have to be crew aboard?
There's an option to make it your main again.
Go to the ship mod guy at the station and go yo mod chat part then simply select your ship and press to make it your home ship. I have roughly 8 or 9 ships at current found fast way to get them and does less damage to the ship too
So this might be an off questions: Can you take over a ship. Add it to your fleet. And then just go back into your HOME ship. All in Space?
Does this make sense?
Further explanation: Currently I take out the engines. Board. Take out crew. Take over ship. Fly to nearest platform. Register ship. Sell Ship. Swap back to my main ship.
This process is quite tedious.
TL;DR: Is there a way to collect a X-number of ships in space and then sell then in bulk add a ship vendor?

Yes it you can call it back home at the ship service technician and register your stolen ship too

My inventory was full so I used my shops floor to “store” my stuff if I land and or register the stolen ship will I lose the loot on the original ship that’s on the floor?
You do not lose the stuff you drop on the floor when you switch home ships the shit is still there. If anyone was wondering. So not worth stealing the ship a profit of 3000. For all that work.

FYI if you commandeer a ship but don’t fly it like I did, today, it does not get added to your fleet. I was hoping this was not the case, but that’s how it works.
2 frag grenades will usually clear the cockpit for you..
I use the highest level Lazers, turrents and Em weapons and all my weapons are rank 4 and I have no problem with that. I keep all my weapons off , but my lasers, which is low and my EM weapons that are all the way up, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm have an issue with keeping them in my sites long enough to target. I'm higher levels also and usually so is the ships I'm targeting, so it seems like they are flying faster than me and I'm just flying around in circles trying to get them in my target sites. I have arthritis in my hands so it's making it harder to keep it up, but I'm doing it and stay at top speed when the ship lets me hit it, but in most of these battles of trying to take down the ship, it seems like a cat and mouse game where we are going around in circles and it's taking so long and in most the battles, I just give up and turn my turrents and Lasers back up and just finish them to get it over with, because I can't keep on.. What am I doing wrong? I'm almost done with the game and I've just started doing the ship take overs so yeah, I'm sure it's something I'm screwing up, even though it feels like it's the speed of my ship. I have all the constellation crew in my ship and assigned, my piloting is maxed, I have all piloting magazine perks. I'm flying an Autobahn III that I have rebuilt and it's all top of the line parts. Any suggestions?
What happens to the ship you left behind when you take over another one?
When you leave your ship behind after taking over another one, it goes into some storage thing because when you interact with the ship technician you can swap your ship to the one you left behind (sorry for the possible typos and grammar mistakes I’m on mobile and it’s hard to type)
I have a question. Where do i store my loot at. Im always encumbered. When i put them in the captain's locker, they literally disappear
You can store it in the cargo hold, and sell what you don't need.
They don't disappear, they go into the hold, that's where you find them again...
I prefer to take every single item, pay the fine, sell all the stuff and go rob the security and head to the trade person. The pay out on stuff is so low but $20 bucks is $20!
Experience stealing over a dozen pirate ships. You have a player limit of 10 ships, don’t have all your 10 slots filled in total. Completely clear every ship you steal of Pirates taking the ship then completely sweep it for contraband. As there is contraband on every pirate ship. Sell any pirate ships you don’t want to keep so your not maxing out your hangar roster of ships saving slots for better ships you get to steal. Having 4/4 Piloting skills ensure you can pilot any ship you steal, but you will still occasionally run into bugs that don’t allow you to sit in Captain’s chair. Game won’t allow you to pilot ship sometimes if you haven’t killed all the pirates, when stealing ships don’t fire fight outside the ship. Quickly board it fast and get thru the hatch into the ship and wipe out the crew if hostile. Best if you have a companion that don’t disagree with your boarding tactics.
I can confirm that when a ship takes off and you’ve killed mostly everyone on board or was on ground that it’s being controlled by AI and not an actual pirate captain. The ship will or can take off in the scenario you boarded and killed everyone onboard but there were other pirate crew still outside. As if you leave the ship at that point to engage the crew outside for whatever reason and you leave the ship ramp while engaging the pirates outside, the ship will take off. If your in the cargo bay and it does, you’ll die and be punted back to ground in horrible death. If you happen to revised the ship fast during a takeoff event, you will notice on reaching the cockpit that there is no one there commanding the ship. Just auto AI. And if you have all 10/10 ships slot filled with ship now in orbit, you screwed. You have to revert the save file, or straight up delete a ship from your roster. Which sucks, but you don’t have much options at that point. Also cheaper to immediately register your newly stolen ship in space. You don’t have to land in populated city to do this. Sell your stolen contraband quickly at the Wolf Den and get it out the way.

Try with EM weapons on your own if you don't know. Shouldn't take too much of your precious time
I've been using EM weapons and it's worked for me. I didn't even know this targeting skill existed until I started watching these Nooblet videos tonight and I've hijacked multiple ships. Probably sloppy without the targetting and you have to avoid using your other weapons (if you have non-EM weapons).

I landed on a moon and saw a big ass ship landning and it was just normal civilians that have been stranded becuse the ship was too damage to leave the moon. I just broke in to the ship and leave them forever stuck in space lmao. Yes they Said the ship was too damaged too fly away but i joink that shit.
