my best friend is goth, and she's the sweetest person ever. She's constantly gagged at and people laugh in her faces, but that doesn't stop her from dressing that way. shes incredibly, smart, kind, and always steps out of her way to help people, this story makes me super happy :)
Why wouldn't she stop dressing that way. I dressed like a total nerd too. I got bullied for it. Then I started dressing cooler. The bullying didn't go away completely, but it diminished.

The stepmother is a bad mother for being so abusive, and the father is a bad father for not standing up for his daughter from the very beginning. He should have kicked the stepmother out early on, or left with his daughter. He definitely chose the stepmother over his own daughter, and that would be emotionally devastating for the daughter, regardless of the end outcome shown here. A woman as toxic as the stepmother does not change, at least nowhere near that quickly, and someone like that typically doesn't give a damn if they turned out to be wrong.

Ruby looks so like my friend Eloise. Eloise is the toughest fighter on earth, dealing with family issues while getting the right A levels in order to go to uni. While battling cancer at the same time. I haven't seen Eloise in so long but I see her in Ruby and that's a great feeling.

The goths at my school when i was in high school were usually the coolest people. I had one guy take a flying leap over a railing just to tell me he liked my shirt. They're incredible people. In fact, I'm more likely to trust a person who looks gothic or has a bunch of tattoos and piercings than a "normal" person

My best friend is a Goth and I adore her so damn much. She is one of my favorite people. So it really upsets me when people misjudge people who like the gothic style. Like just because they "look shady/scary" doesn't mean that they actually are. Some Goths are actually the nicest people you'll meet.

Honestly I think Ruby is gorgeous as is, even with all of her tattoos and piercings. When she was crying at 14:14 I couldn’t help but get emotional as well. You could hear and see the pain in her eyes and voice.

My girlfriend who was a goth in high school sometimes had to deal with this it’s like the only people who trusted her were her parents my parents and her friends parents every one else saw her as the scary goth girl and the sweet girl she actually was and still is
The dad really is just like mine when my mom criticized me a lot when I was younger for being how I am and my father always backed her up I relate a lot to this story but not the end
the real story is lisa drove off the minute Ruby came out of the school building and than she tells Harley that Ruby is a bad influence on her.
I like how the sign in the back when they opened the door to meet ruby says “stay humble and kind” and then there’s the mom 💀

I am glad the mom realized she made a mistake judging Ruby before getting to know her. I liked how Ruby stood up for Harley when Isabelle was bullying her. Brooke and Claire aren’t real friends by abandoning her. Ruby should stay with Harley so Isabelle will leave her alone
