"Ginger, turn that mess down!" Memories of my parents trying to tell me what to like. That was over 5o years ago. I'm 81 years old now and still refuse to "turn it down!" Love it

@@murielwilliams1257Warms my heart to read your comments. I’m 72 and feel the same way. I listen to Doowop and play the songs on my guitar every day. It’s what I have loved since I was a little boy and will hopefully keep me going until I can’t anymore. I hadn’t heard this song until I discovered it on TH-cam and it is terrific.

I'm part of the Generation Z and I love this music so much and I want to carry on its legacy to my children and future generations to come. Doo wop is my life and it always will be. @@ethy9186 Definitely not….I am 16 and no one cares for this music. Most millennials are mostly into country, electro music, rap, and 2000’s rock which is similar to punk….Gen Z got even more shafted since most either dig mumble rap and modern pop or are complete posers when it comes to anything before they were born, ask anyone my age what is their favorite rock band is and you will probably get AC/DC or Zeppelin and they can’t even name 3 songs.

Damn...Something about these guys hits me real hard. Just that one time to ask that favorite girl who didn't even know my crush on her was bad hard...to walk over past her group of girlfriends...and ask her to dance, trying to maintain every cool feature learned on Bandstand, or from the older, cruder Football players, or wherever...but finally to nerve up at the next Church dance, enough to ask her to dance to this song...Eyes meeting in the dim light as I brush past her perimeter girlfriend guard. Eyes fastened to each other and slurred words asking her to dance as she already takes my hand. And then my Life changes forever as we hold each other and the body heat is something never realized before. No talk as we hold each other and move together to this. Each of us ... thrilled... and scared as we revel in the magical closeness of holding each other.

These Sinceres. Special good. Last dance song so powerful. This song could force a young man to forget his own shyness, or class status, or whatever... and walk right over to that special girl he had a hard crush on forever... And actually ask her to dance. If she said yes, son of a bitch, ...the world changed right then...for him for sure... and he was scrambling for some kind of control or comprehension over this overwhelming situation as young inexperienced hearts melted and leaked out. Maybe the purest and most honest emotions we had back then...

PJDoowop--You have proffered a most powerful and nostalgic service to so many of us that grew up with this doowop genre of music by offering these memory strong and important songs of our younger lives. Listening to some of these songs is a trip back to another time of our lives, maybe a better one, at least a more exciting one...This Sinceres song is poignant good. jerry blavat was the DJ at my senior prom after party....

I've heard that too, but there's a lot of confusion on this. A while back I posted another "Sinceres" record called "Forbidden Love." The general consensus was that they were from Allentown and that this is a different group. The Richie label is most definitely from Wilmington, De, but the lead here does sound like he could be the lead on "Forbidden Love."

The Passions are an American doo-wop group from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The quintet recorded a few demos in 1958, at which time Tony, Albee and Vinny began looking for replacements who were more career-minded. Another group in Bensonhurst had what they needed; when the three Sinceres heard Runarounds lead singer Jimmy Gallagher, they knew he was the one for them (Jimmy’s previous group, the Palladiyms, included Joe DiBenedetto, who later formed "The Four-evers".)The Sinceres weren’t sure how to approach Jimmy, so they followed him home one night and knocked on his door, so ask Jimmy Gallagher.

If this piqued your interest. Check out Kansas City's own Bloodstone also originally known as The Sincerest. An epic group of immense musicians and vocalist's.
