I hope this gets played in the locker room. If they don't want to play for the GM, or the coach, or each other... play for Sam! And Sam... thank you for being the voice of comfort my entire life. I don't know what hockey is without hearing Sam Rosen call the game. I'll continue watching every game this year to savor it until the end. Thank you, Sam!!!
One of the nicest men I ever met in my life and an absolute institution with the New York Rangers and Madison Square Garden forever. Unfortunately it's extremely painful to be a New York Rangers fan. We all know this. Sam Rosen is one of the few people in Rangers history that you know would never let you down. Thank you for all the years of maximum effort for a team that very rarely gives maximum effort. You'll be missed by all.
I've watched the NHL since 1964 as a kid with my father from Boston , RIP Dad, I'm going to miss his game calls, I can't even think of watching a rangers game without his voice. You'll be missed. I'm sad and I'm old. 🇺🇸🏒 New York Rangers 🙏
I was in the music business for 30+ years in NYC and met many famous stars. But, one time in Tampa, while I was killing some time a few hours before game time, Sam walked past me and I got so star struck that I could not say hello. I just stood there in awe. Sam Rosen!
Shame that this team is playing like this with it being Sam's last year on the broadcast. Sam, you are one of the best to ever call sports and especially when it comes to Rangers hockey. Thank you for so many memories throughout the years. I wish Rangers could have done something special this year and won the Stanley Cup, it would have been a perfect send off.
LOL. I remember Gordon doing games with The Big Whistle, Bill Chadwick. Sam Rosen was the backup pbp guy, until Gordon retired in ‘84. And the rest was history.
I'm a Blackhawks fan but always loved Sam's play by play for the Rangers. He has a terrific, non cookie cutter voice and style. I remember him doing NFL games including Bears preseason games, but he'll always be most known and revered for calling Rangers games.
Thank you for 40 wonderful years, Sam! You were the NY Rangers voice for a generation of fans. Rangers hockey won't be the same without you. Godspeed in your retirement.
Thank you Sam for bringing our favorite team to our Living room. U been a class Act and a True HOF. I will always cherish your call. It's a Power Play Goal !!!!. Job well done my Friend. . LGR!!!
Thank you Sam, truly from the bottom of my heart. I was introduced to hockey and this team by my dad who passed away August of this year, and I will forever cherish the memories I had with him while watching our favorite team together and accompanied by your voice. He was one of your biggest fans, and I remember him telling me after he had come home from a long days work in 2011 when I was just 12, about the time he met you in a chance encounter while working on the remodeling of MSG (he was an electrician). As a person who had worked in Manhattan almost every day for over 30+ years, I had heard quite a few stories about him seeing or crossing paths with various celebrities or people he recognized, but I don’t think I remember him looking as excited or enthusiastic about any of them as he was that day telling me about how he ran into you. I remember one detail in particular about that story, that I think speaks truly volumes as to how you are the heart and soul of this team to the fans. I won’t forget that he told me that YOU, Sam Rosen, thanked my dad for his love of the team. My dad tried to thank you for everything you have done for this team, and you insisted on thanking him. It meant the world to him. So once again, thank you Sam. You are a ‘one of one’, and the words you spoke in that booth will live on way longer than a lifetime.
Don"t usually comment on everything. U being the exception. Been a NYR fan since about 1965. U are the heart and soul of the Rangers. Privy to watch U all these yesrs. We need a banner in the rafters with your name, microphone & TV set on it. I"m Retiriing for work this year also after 50 years. Good Luck Well deserved !!!!. Nice interview Molly.
One of the true gentlemen. As much as I've enjoyed and appreciated Sam for being the incredible soundtrack for my approximately 40 years of Rangers fandom I appreciate him even more for doing so with class, dignity, and empathy.
Hearing Esposito try to announce the first Russian players' names was hysterical. Also, he didn't know a lot of the other players names so he would say, "Number 19 is pretty good!"
My Dad got season ticket in 1967, last year of old Garden. Kept ticket for over 30 years. Took train from Brooklyn. After he was married, we lived in Queens. He used LIRR. I grew up near Albany. We’d buy tickets to Rangers games and ride Amtrak down to games each season. Now, I go myself.
God speed Sam, it’s been an honor and pleasure. I much prefer the broadcasts of the games opposed to the TV, and it was/ is because of your enthusiasm! Whatever they have planned for you at the garden for your retirement will be a blast.
40+ year Rangers' fan--I love and will miss Sam but after listening to other teams' broadcasts, Sam's objectivity is what I will miss the best. He gets just as excited for another team scoring as he does for the Rangers.
I wonder if the Rangers' organization, or God forbid, national broadcasting companies, will ever discover that Molly Walker is a national treasure. In this interview we are seeing the torch passed from one generation to another. Not sure if Molly could ever do play-by-play but if she did then I am sure she would be fantastic! In any event, Molly rocks!
Sam is the best. Started watching Rangers hockey in 1980 when Jim Gordon was the play by play guy. Sam will go down as THE Rangers voice of all time! Now wake up current Rangers and go win it for Sam!
Oh stop-he’s not ashamed, he’s loved this team and so have all the real, true Rangers’ fans! It’s a rough time, all teams have them, and it WILL get better!!!
@@susanlatham224. Truth! Listen to the interview. Sam loved the Rangers during the dark ages of the 1950s. His affection to the team & the players is eternal.
Too bad Sam didn't drink some of the wine he received from the Devils and blurted out , "You know Joe, this team really sucks!" What are they going to do, fire him?
Wow I was watching an NFL vid "How did they not score?!!" and saw a clip from 2000 and I'm like "omggg I remember this voice, who is this dude and is he still on Fox?" and I find this vid.
"Terrific team that's entertaining every single night. Great personalities that are involved..." Either Sam is being very generous or he is delusional. I believe it's the former. This team is playing dead hockey right now. And the post game shows are like postmortems.
They WILL turn it around. They have not adjusted to Trouba being shipped out. This core is still very good. The one thing that will make them elite is if Mika finds his game from 2 years ago.
Who gives a crap, he misses plays, makes errors and is so tiresome when he compliments everyone. Yuck, get lost. People who don't know much hockey or are too young don't remember Jim Gordon and the big whistle. They were the men to respect, not this guy and the simpleton next to him.
Respect Sam on your great career from a devils fan.
Hope you enjoy your retirement and life after this.
Mike Emrick was better.
The sound of Sam Rosen hollering 'It's a power play goal!!!!' is like warm apple pie. I will miss him. Thanks for running this interview.
So glad mollie was to be the one to interview Sam. We love Sam so much and we will miss him greatly. Lgr

Meet Sam a few times class act . Very nice to the fans . Treated all fans with great respect . Not going to be the same without him .
Going to miss Sam and his iconic voice. Thank you for making my childhood ❤

Typical Ranger fashion with this core. Just goes to show how selfish & narcissistic this over sensitive, whiny group TRULY is!🖕🤬👎
I'm an Islander fan, but love listening to Sam! " It's a power play goal!" Thanks Sam and good luck! The hockey world will miss you!
Jiggs McDonald was better.
Going to miss you, Sam.....congratulations for being a true Ranger's fan and announcer all these years....😂
I’m so old I can remember Sam was the studio guy and it was Jim Gordon and Espo calling the games. Enjoy your retirement Mr Rosen

@@SamWesting you’re only a couple years older than me!!😂😂 The Big Whistle!!
Only been a Rangers fan for 3 seasons following a trip to NY but I'm going to miss Sam's commentary...
Happy Retirement Sam... UK RANGERS🇬🇧

I loved Sam the first time I laid my ears on him here in Detroit. A great announcer who deserves all the accolades!
Sam is a class act.
i love you, sam rosen.
The replays give me the biggest goosebumps...Sam your voice will last a lifetime!!
He was named play by play officially before the 84-85 season I was 14 now I'm 55 and Sam is still there you will be missed Sammy 😞
One of the greats. Old school style like the late great Bob Cole. They both brought a certain atmosphere and emotion to a game.
I will never not hear Sam Rosen’s voice when watching the Rangers. One of the best EVER. ❤
You will be missed my friend!

poor man has this horrendous team playing this way in his retirement year

Mollie! Are you in the running to call Ranger games after Sam retires? You, Larry and Joe M would be a great team. Larry between the glass obviously.
Larry will never go between the benches - reminds him of a bus stop.
Sam has been one of the few constants in my life. I will miss him more than I can express.
They will never replace Sam Rosen…thank you Sam for all the years…🤝
Great interview - thanks Molly and Sam! Have a great rest of the year Sam, you’ll be missed…

Sam is simply the best. He will be so sorely missed. He is family.

Thank you Sam. You are the best. I will miss you!!
This is excellent
We love you sam . We wish you werent going ur always been there for us always we love u sam
Sad that for his last season, the team is just hot garbage. You deserve better, Sam!

I will miss Sam. Ye is a big part of the team
Rangers players should be ashamed this year of the effort they're putting out there with this man's final season announcing the Rangers
Wow I was watching an NFL vid "How did they not score?!!" and saw a clip from 2000 and I'm like "omggg I remember this voice, who is this dude and is he still on Fox?" and I find this vid.
Damn. Didn't know Esposito was another NY to FL story.
The goat.
If Joe M can do play by play then move Molly to the spot between the benches!
I hope the team can stop the dumpster fire and dig in for some wins, for Sam.

Sam says this at 38:40.
He's trying to be respectful
If he can check and hit. Put him on the roster. He cant be worse than the figure skaters on the team.
Poor Sam!!
T.B.E
I loved watching Sam and JD calling Rangers games.
Much respect but this crap team this year is a disaster I feel so bad for Sam..
First question... just how ashamed are you of this garbage team? Second question, do you wish you retired last season?
They WILL turn it around. They have not adjusted to Trouba being shipped out. This core is still very good. The one thing that will make them elite is if Mika finds his game from 2 years ago.
@@ArcanumAscent As he said in 1994, ‘This one will last a lifetime!’ And he was right.
Sam Rosen's last call: "It's another Rangers loss, and it's a bad one, goodbye everyone."
More like I don't have to watch this 💩 anymore.
Sam you gotta do something with that hair.
Who gives a crap, he misses plays, makes errors and is so tiresome when he compliments everyone. Yuck, get lost. People who don't know much hockey or are too young don't remember Jim Gordon and the big whistle. They were the men to respect, not this guy and the simpleton next to him.
Just like the Devils did to Doc Emrick, the Rangers are going to do to Sam. Lose Lose Lose.
