I agree. Luke is a beast. So humble and cool. I like the interview the next morning when he was a work and they ask him why he’s there and he like “I have no vacation days!” What a killer story. I’m almost 50, too. Lived in Hawaii in the 90s and surfed everyday. My keikis still live there. I live on mainland now, on EC, but still surf as much as possible. And true about MH, good attitude and tells a funny story, too! Aloha. 🤙🏽

My brother in law lived with Pat Curren (and a bunch of other surfer animals) in a WW2 quonset hut above Waimea back in the mid to late 50’s. No one surfed Pipeline then cuz they thought it was unmakable and too dangerous. Some did bodysurf pipe then though.
UPDATE: I just found out that my brother in law did NOT live in the quonset hut above Waimea. However, he did live in a house in Pupukea with Pat Curren, Rusty Miller, and Diff. Sorry about that. So weird cuz for decades I believed he lived in that frikkin hut.

He has his own channel but it’s surfing only, which is awesome, but I wish he would talk story too.
