These are the best sessions to watch. Everyone out there is doing something different. Cocos power surfing is so strong and then you've got Masons freesurfing acrobatics. The most eye catching was Mike, he wasn't doing anything too crazy but his style is unusually playful and loose. Its like when he's on the board he doesn't age
I'm recovering from surgery, but your videos keep me pumped and ready to surf asap. Coco looks like she's surfing better than ever, especially for a twin fin. So sick!
Thank you Rory for showing masons belly ride. I too enjoy a good belly ride at least once a surf, sometimes purposefully, sometimes not. But regardless it is always enjoyed. In fact a goal of mine is to pop up, do a turn, drop to my stomach, belly ride a tube and come out, only to pop back up to finish a ride. Maybe one day if I keep practicing.
Sometimes hopping is needed to get through the flat spots of a wave, especially when the board has rocker designed for steep waves like V-land. It's like pushing your snowboard across a flat with one of your feet.... without it, he wouldn't stay on the wave.
@@kiteblasterBullshit, I know many world class surfers who never hop. You like the way it looks? Boards for steep waves have more rocker. I have been shaping boards for 50 years. Its a bad habit. Mike Ho doesn't hop.
Lol. Mike doesn't hop because he's too old now. I used to surf with Mike back in high-school. Also we rode narrow tailed single-fins. I agree that hopping and flipping looks lame - but it does help get through the flat spots. He was just getting through a re-form. I'm all about carving, myself.@@matthewwillis4892
@@matthewwillis4892 Without enough volume, the section flattens out, you gotta hop or you're off the wave. It's not ideal. I don't like the way it looks or feels. But sometimes it's the only way through a flat section when you're riding tiny vol like Mase 🤙
You can tell that Mase and Coco grew up surfing this wave! You guys are ripping so hard but it’s just playful yet smooth.
