Maybe I suck at the game... but when he said he only died 27 times at the burning building section in chapter 6... I felt like shit. 200+ deaths for me... To be fair, I did it the wrong way (no agony bolts, since I hadn't upgraded those yet except the explosive bolts), but no other section gave me as much trouble as that.
To be fair, that section is SUPER luck based. I wouldn't feel too bad especially with 200+ deaths, Chapter 6 is a great big mess of a chapter filled with some hardcore BM haha. I'm glad you pulled through, though!

In the end, when I finished Akumu Mode, I think I had 300+ deaths, but the game did crash on me once while on Chapter 6, so I might have had over 400 deaths. The places that gave me the most trouble were the burning building in Chapter 6, the first section with Kidman in the water trap on Chapter 5, and the garage section in Chapter 11. However, I was playing way too safe. I barely used Agony bolts, and had over 200 (or maybe 400) parts left. I would have died less than 30 times in Chapter 6 if I had used Flash Bolts, but they weren't upgraded.

There is actually a rare moment where you can take damage and survive because if you get grabbed the first half only takes you down to critical which allows joseph to save you mid grab
Idk what it is but completing a survival horror single player on the hardest difficulty is really something special. Idk it just gives you that ummph feeling. I love it. Here’s looking at Re9 and Re5 remake hoping for early next year release.

I think I had almost the same amount of deaths you had in Akumu. I found it hard in chapters 2,6 and 11. Luckily, I found a guide that made this difficulty much easier for me though. You could’ve tried to disarm the bombs by using the weapon wheel though. It’s so much slower than doing in real time.

the evil within is such a good game because in some ways it is better than other horror games like resident evil, they are both top games but the evil within is kind of the psycho version of resident evil & I have loved it since I was a kid. I was so excited about the second part & then the joy stopped there and I was disappointed, It made me sad that the evil within 2 wasn't as strong as the classic. I thought we would get psycho 2.0 with the second part but the game absolutely isn't... I've played through it many times now & I think it's OK but I was still very disappointed at first. The game is so underrated because there are so many people who have no idea about horror or are just too bad & because of them the evil within isn't portrayed as the top horror game & as I said, that's why it's underrated. ❤💔 & respect for you 🙏🏽🙏🏽 i hate akumu lol
There absolutely is a pistol wielder in CH3, I didn't notice while scripting but I did catch it when going through old footage. But they don't consistently start showing up until the mansion.

Helpful tip: Rapidly tap the X/A button when you're out of stamina to recover faster :)
