In fact cars do exist. How can you see something, that goes in the speed of light, when it goes so fast literally, that you can actually see it, when you cant realize how fast it actually goes. When the car goes still slow you can see it, but how can you see object that passes earth seven times in second, like the speed of light. That fats going car you can see, if you inside the car, but not by watching it go past you, so it actually do exist, but some fast things go so fast by, that you cant see it.

About 3-4 years ago a good friend played the movie "limitless" for me, I loved it and he said you will love Lucy too. He put it on a USB thumb drive, I tossed it in my car and forgot about it. Last year he passed away, at age 60. Today I came across the drive, remembered what was on it and watched it as a memorial to my friend. Great movie, and ironic it was on a USB drive.

Time is a physical dimension it exists in the physical realm. Think about when you sleep and if you have dreams it seem like days week months even at times. But when you are sleep you cannot experience time itself that’s why a 20 minute nap can feel like 4hours or it can feel like 5 mins…….. We are fixed to experience one moment at a time for our physical body. All of time exists as one the past, future, and present are all at the same time.
Actually quotes you've listed don't really make much sense. She's talking to scientists, of course they know numbers and letters are abstract concepts, but they still reflect reality. Same with chaos part - chaos doesn't exist, it's human concept (and first quote seemed like lucy is throwing away those). To me those were just some pseudointelectual random quotes, but otherwise movie was fun to watch :-)
Can’t watch this movie without cringing hard at the dialogue. It’s like hearing an influencer discuss the origins of the universe after reading a Wikipedia article on it.

The thing with time is, that it doesn't has to be linear especially in quantum mechanics. Is that the case, Time would be a Sphere and not a line. Which then would also make time travel kinda possible by the way but that's besides the point. The director said in an interview 10% is BS and a lot of the movie is pretty and fun. IIRC, he said the message is about overcoming the limitation you put on yourself from fear, personal greed, etc. how much better humanity could become.

I remember watching this when it came out and I was about 15, I’m now a junior in college and major in environmental studies, I fell in love with this movie even more, you really have to study in the evolution of species especially humans to really understand how fucking insane Lucy is and her capabilities, my brain exploded at least 10 times during this movie. Not only that but many of the things that were said in this film many monks/Buddhists and people that follow Hinduism and many other ancient spirituality practices follow and understand the true meaning of life. For instance Lucy says when stabbing the traffickers is that “the meaning of life is going thru obstacles”. Life is just a plethora of lessons and obstacles. She also says to Morgan freeman that she was “colonizing her brain” these are all concepts that many spiritual ppl believe in, colonizing ur brain, meaning understanding who you truly are, ur emotions, ur thoughts, ur being as a whole, being able to separate society from reality.

That’s what I tried to tell my math teacher when is was 10: 1+1 is only two because we agree to it. It‘s an abstract theory we use because we do not have (or fail to grasp) another. He disagreed quite strongly. Probably because I didn't do those perky special effects.
This is supposed to be a speech from the smartest creature on earth but it sounds like the ramblings of somebody who failed high school physics and then took a wild trip.

I always believed that linear thinking is humanity greatest fault. Once you take that away, the possibilities become incalculable. Too many that creates fear of the unknown. People depend on the ground to be there, they depend that a tree is just a tree.
Well, scientists will tell you matter is mostly made up of space. This is just a virtual reality anyway, living in a holographic universe. If you think of yourself as the space itself, you can't fall out of yourself. We are just like Lucy. Or even the Invisible Man.

I resonate very deeply with this scene. She describes my views on reality perfectly. From a nominalist perspective, numbers and letters dont exist. From a functionalist perspective, we are simply events. Without change, we dont happen. Time is unity and that is why Substance Monism is true. Becoming is Grounded in Being, without Becoming there is unity but there is instability.

This however is an atomic definition. In the quantum realm or subatomic levels, there is no unified concept of time among physicists, so we can not prove that we do in fact exist.

Ok, it's adorable how the movie tries to sound clever via Lucy's "monologue" in the beginning. All my mental voice said during that whole scene was " well, duh"! Wow, mathemathics is a human construct? Mind blown!
