Some resorts place folded towels on the chairs for guests so that you know they AREN'T reserved. I don't know about this resort but when we visited Excellence as well as Ocean Coral and Turquesa, they placed fresh towels (folded) on the available chairs and when you take them, the staff unfolds the towel and places it laid out on the chair to show it's taken. Just throwing that out there though, I have no idea how this resort works with their chairs, though.
Yes I definitely recommend getting your pesos in Canada. I usually like to just use the ATM’s where I am going but they surprisingly didn’t have any in the Cancun airport and the ones at the resort didn’t work very well.
If you're at Grand Riviera you can also going to Grand Sunset and Family Club area? If you're not platinum Wich restaurants you are allowed for dinner?
Hello , thanks for all informations. I will be in April. Do I need a sanitaty pass or a covid test ? Is there a Shuttle to the airport tout go go the hôtel ? Thanks in advance
WhySoMelon Hi! We stayed in a deluxe junior suite too and the wifi was AMAZING. It’s really fast and we only had to login once a day (not every time we used it). My only complaint is that they don’t have it by the pools or in the lobby. Maybe there was the odd spot you might find a single outside of your room but not really. Have fun! :)
You can't really say the platinum is not worth it. Depends on how you travel. If you enjoy waiter service at the pool and at the beach, and easy booking of the spa and restaurants the platinum is where you want to be. Deluxe accommodations are crowded, and the bar is packed. I have been many times and enjoy the perks of platinum.
Artie Wagoner I’m glad you had a good time. We are just basing our comments on the experiences other people had told us and the general consensus was that it wasn’t worth the money...different experiences for different folks though. I agree the regular area was sometimes crowded, but that can be fun too :)
Mike Chan yes we had access to all of the kids areas, but we didn’t use them much. They seemed great though and were sometimes the only place you could find a chair!
barry wilson sorry I don’t remember but the pool chairs have an adjustable back. It was actually pretty difficult to get chairs at all because everyone would put their towels on them.
Bigdog Bulldog the platinum suites are closest to the beach. We had a junior suite that was far from the beach (but closer to the food), and another couple with a baby had a junior suite that was close to the water but really far from dinner. They didn’t seem to pile the kids in the same area. The kids areas are mostly on the edges of the resort on both sides. When we arrived at night, the resort seemed dauntingly large but it’s really not that bad... although make sure you bring a stroller that has adequate shade.Walking in the sun with a baby who hates hats was frustrating!
Wow! Such great information. We’re heading there in a month with an 8 month old. 2 questions: did you find the rooms to be loud with outside noise at night? I read that if you’re close to the disco or the elevators it’s loud. Also, how loud are the shows? Would you recommend baby ear protection? We’re also from Canada.
Awesome, have a great trip! We didn’t find anything overly loud. The shows are in a really big auditorium so you can sit at the back if it’s too loud, but most of the kids were on the floor at the front :) I could see not wanting to be by and elevator. Check in was kind of a shit show but maybe you could ask them there :)
hi! just came across this video and I'm going to this resort in February, my son will be 9 months by then. I have been to this resort before without a child, but haven't travelled much with him yet! My main question/concern is how to manage the beach with a baby in a stroller since you can't really drive a stroller on the beach ! did you guys ditch the stroller when you went to the beach, or just carry it over to where you were sitting? Also was wondering if you could tell me what kind of stroller you used on this trip and if you'd recommend it. Thank you!
Allison R-D hi Allison! You’re going to have such a great time, our son was the perfect age when we took him around the same time. At the beach we just carried the stroller and it wasn’t a big deal. Everything is pretty far away so one thing I recommend with your stroller is that you get good shade coverage. We had the Summer Lite which seemed very popular at the resort but we should have brought our Britax B Agile which has a lot more shade coverage.
Hey there, did you feel unsafe at any point during the trip, I mean from the airport to the hotel and vice versa? We have a trip planned to the resort soon and my mother is worried about our safety in Mexico, so I need to put her at ease even though we're overgrown adults... LOL.
We didn’t feel unsafe for a minute! The only thing I guess I could say is don’t buy drinks at the airport (completely overpriced) and don’t let someone help you with your luggage at the airport unless you have the right change to tip them, otherwise everything is incredibly safe and wonderful from the resort perspective. We didn’t leave the resort because of the little one. Have fun! You’ll love it :)
Do you know if there was a dress code at the resraraunts? Do men have to wear pants? If so are blue jeans permitted? Sandals or shoes? Thanks so so much! We leave may 19th and this was super helpful
Hi Nathan! In our experience, when we were booking our dinner, they told us that we couldn't wear flip flops and muscle shirts, but they didn't state any specifics for pants/shorts and what kind of material. They were pretty easy going. We didn't wear jeans but we did have shorts on for a couple of the dinners.
Stayed here in March 2020 its amazing .. DONT buy anything in shops though in resort there a lot more expensive then outside .. also dont do a bus excursion go to the concierge and book a cab for full day to take you anywhere you want costs about 3000 pesos mexican then the local entrance fees are pennys at say maya ruins etc
zarfin Music I’m pretty sure the kids could do the archery and they have an awesome kids section that seems like it would have a lot of activities going on. We were mostly on the adult side though except to get ice cream :)
Julie Ng it’s up to you... we tended to tip $3-5 dollars when we ate because we had a (messy) kid, but when we were drinking we would probably tip $1 for every few drinks. The hardest thing is getting small denominations to tip in, so I would try to acquire them before you leave.
You said two of the restaurants you had to pay? Hmmmm, thought it was.ALL inclusive? Which ones were they? Also, we don’t drink beer but do drink hard alcohol,....that’s all served there too right. Lol. One more thing, the rules of dress codes for the eating had men having to wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. REALLY? I can’t wear khaki shorts with a comfortable T shirt? Does it have to be a long sleeve shirt for men? Oh,....one more question. Is the water crystal clear like we have down here in south Florida? Don’t wanna go there if not. I’m use to crystal clear! Thanks
J V I forget the names of the ones you have to pay at, but they make it very clear and it’s just for the food - drinks were still free I think. My water wasn’t very clear...it was pretty margarita coloured but from what I can remember the bottled water should be up to your crystally-Florida standards ;-) We pushed the limits on the dress code and they were never strict about it. If you like decent, that was enough for us - and maybe wearing better shoes than flip flops. Have fun!
J V haha oh! It was okay. When I went in March it wasn’t gross but it was nothing to write home about. We just did Vietnam...it didn’t have anything on Vietnam beaches!
@@letsgobrandon7112 we went there in September and I felt Florida water was nicer, but it was still nice overall. We also got to go over to Cozumel which wasn't far and they did have Florida like water. I would definitely go back due to the overall experience.
This was extremely helpful! I’m going in two months! 😊 Thank you!
Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm going in Dec 2024 and this is still very helpful!
Loved the information, the tips are very helpful, will be going in October. By the way, baby Jackson is adorable! 🙂
Going in a week. You answered all my questions. Thank you
Daniela Roy-Gervais thank you for the feedback. Have a wonderful trip! :)
Daniela Roy-Gervais thank you for the feedback. Have a wonderful trip! :)
We have been 4 times and will be there again in December. We have always gone with the platinum. We are trying the Villas in December.
Thank you for the review Nicole. We are going there in Mid-March. We are exited!
Do you have to wear a bracelet since it is all inclusive? Or what did you have to show that you are staying there for the restaurants etc

Great tips. Thank you for sharing your experience. Is it hard to book restaurant reservation? How do we book?
I found this video very useful, thank you so much (about to book the same resort) and greetings from Montreal QC
Great!
Thk u for sharing!!!!
thank you so much, this video was so informative!!!! :)
So helpful thanks! Hopefully the quality is the same as you described now as well
It is best to buy pesos in Canada then withdraw additional pesos from an ATM or bank. don't waste the exchange rate to exchange CDN to USD
Yes I definitely recommend getting your pesos in Canada. I usually like to just use the ATM’s where I am going but they surprisingly didn’t have any in the Cancun airport and the ones at the resort didn’t work very well.

Do they give you a wrist band to walk around the hotel? And do they scan the wrist band whenever you have dinner reservations/bar/pool?
Steven Acanda sorry I honestly can’t remember! I am 80% positive that there were no wrist bands and they definitely weren’t scanned anywhere.
Hello, do you know if there’s free WiFi in the rooms? We’ve booked to stay in a Deluxe Junior Suite

I will be at this area in Feb 2023 if you want any additional info
Get the. Platinum villa package and you’ll have access to everything
Going soon thanks
4 weeks to go
Can you tell me do they have upright chairs for the pool area for older people thank you

Went there in 2014 2015 2016 and now next week 2024
How was it? I'm on my way in, hoping it's nice
Is this a good place for singles?? Friends and I are goin in April of next year.
It wasn't as wild as I imagine some resorts could be, but I had a limited perspective with a baby there :)
Have you stayed at any other all inclusive resorts in the area?
Pam Levenstein unfortunately just this one so far!
How was the nightlife? Do they have night club
They have sports bar, and a "disco" that is actually a club as well as nightlife entertainment

Lol random question do they have speakers in the room ?
Sasha sorry I kind of forget but I don’t think that they do
Hi do they have some entertainment for 12 years old ?
zarfin Music I’m pretty sure the kids could do the archery and they have an awesome kids section that seems like it would have a lot of activities going on. We were mostly on the adult side though except to get ice cream :)
Look good
20 pesos is actually less than 1 USD, but pretty much the same. 20 pesos is equal to $1.28 CAD and 1 USD is $1.30 CAD
That’s great that the rates have gone up, but when we went, it was 18 pesos per USD. The exchange rates add an additional expense as well.
For one week, how many USD $1 would you need to tip? Do you have to tip everyone?
Julie Ng it’s up to you... we tended to tip $3-5 dollars when we ate because we had a (messy) kid, but when we were drinking we would probably tip $1 for every few drinks. The hardest thing is getting small denominations to tip in, so I would try to acquire them before you leave.

hi, where did you buy your your ticket?
I live in Canada.
We bought a package through sunwing. We bought it the night before and got a really good deal!
Which side has LESS kids? :-D
If you are looking at the resort with your back to the ocean, there are less kids on the left side (furthest away from the ice cream shop :) )
Cute kid
wow very nice hotel i hope going that places very cute baby
