Considering that it is only a few short years until the 500th anniversary of the incident this song is about (The last stand of the Swiss Guard, covering Pope Clement VII's escape to Castel Sant´Angelo during the sacking of Rome in 1527), I can't help but think of how cool it would be to have this play on the organ in St Peter's Cathedral upon its 500th anniversary. Ideally with the lyrics to go with it.
The Church is picky about the music being performed in sacred places. The lyrics would probably need reworked to bring them in line with liturgical worship. It would also sound better in Latin. 🤓
@@Gordy-fj1jy and overbearing control plus insistence on Latin would nicely illustrate some of the reasons why the church is struggling to garner the interest of younger people. They have a chance here. If they decide not to use it, that is their loss.
@@ranekeisenkralle8265 That’s not how liturgical or sacred music works. It’s not weekend entertainment and we’re not playing it to be trendy. Also there’s nothing wrong with Latin. Although not required in all music, It’s the official language of the Church nonetheless. More on topic, The great composer and conductor Ennio Morricone did a concert inside the Vatican about 10 years ago. They wouldn’t let him use the Church though. So, perhaps depending on the occasion and location certain songs could be performed that aren’t necessarily religious.
I searched sabaton organ cover out of curiosity to see if a mad man had done a cover but I wasn't expecting it to sound like a completely different song and to sound amazing
I only discovered Sabaton in the garden centre yesterday. By last night I was standing in my hall with my arms stretched high, playing The Last Stand at full blast over & over again

Your comment confirms that I've done my work well and communicated the beauty of the organ well.
Thanks. 😊

DEUS VULT! DEUS VULT! DEUS VULT!
We must retake the Holy Land!
Screw the bridal march, I want this playing as I walk down the aisle.
Invaders of the holy see: *approches*
Paladins of the Swiss Guard: "You're talking an awful lot of shit for someone in crusading distance."
Well, Christmas came early this year. You never cease to put out amazing work.
Why thank you. Happy to hear that. :)
I WISH I FOUND THIS EARLIER
Honestly if churches played this, atheism would drop to -1%.

[T]
God wills it, brothers!
DEVS VVLT!
When the priest finds out the wedding is for furries.
This should be a Church hymn
It’d be tough for the congregation to sing without practicing but I totally agree 👍
No more atheism 😳✝️
If only 😪
