400 years.... Why? There is so much pain and hurt in the black community, how can we heal? We've struggled under the weight of racism and injustice. Yet still we carry on seeking, believing, trusting that GOD will bring us through!!!
The dissonance at the beginning of this hauntingly beautiful song is the most brilliant use of dissonance I have ever heard. Captures what is wrong in a painfully exquisite way.
There is no more powerful protest song on this earth. Especially if you know its indigenous African origin as a funeral lament and then its central place in the struggle against apartheid. And THIS is the most powerful performance of that most powerful song. Bless you wonderful young people.

It's very interesting to see the descendants of the oppressors singing what have we done with the descendants of the oppressed. They should be singing what are we doing because it's still happening, the oppression never stopped.
I can't sing this song without shedding tears. Such a powerful and very emotional song. I must say the choir tried shame, but the didnt really nail the song.
