  • Yasmina sat in the carriage, the rhythmic clatter of hooves against the dirt road reverberating through the wooden frame. The chill of early autumn seeped through the thin fabric of her dress. Her gaze was fixed out the window, where the familiar landscape unfolded with a haunting clarity. The road had scarcely changed since she last traveled it as a wide-eyed seventeen-year-old.
Now, everything seemed different, cloaked in a veil of eerie nostalgia. As she approached her ancestral home, memories of her mother’s coldness and her own turbulent past resurfaced. But her mother’s death had uncovered a secret. Yasmina had inherited a legacy, a duty fraught with danger and immense responsibility.

I love that you get some of your inspiration while falling asleep, and that you take a more personal approach to your stories. It's fascinating to hear how the story came about. There's always a lesson or something to take away from each one.

I like the way you wrote about smells and memory, I could smell the study.

Thank you. I try to build the scene as much as I can. This one was difficult to make visually. I had an idea of porcelain people in a porcelain town, a porcelain esthetic like the old Hummel figurines.

@@carlgrant5126 Thanks. I am a writer, not an artist. I might make a video on how I do the art, since it takes so long. People ask a lot, and I think I use the AI programs differently from most people. I spend hours creating and editing the art.

I think family can be a rough topic for a lot of people. You wrote a story last week that made me think about art and sadness and I think it applies to you.

I wouldn't say I am sad, but I have had moments in my life where I was pretty down. I struggled with depression after my cancer diagnosis, and therapy has helped me so much. Family can hurt you pretty badly, especially if they don't love you. Thank you for the comment.
