This is great! Totally a contrast! I can tell the Flood Light 2 has a much wider throw too. More of a wash in general! It really does seem like it's worth the price difference. I ended up swooping up two six packs of the originals just to justify also buying the Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro, but these will be on the shortlist for the future! I'm a sucker for warm lighting though, so I see these eventually moving to be more of a dedicated perimeter light and less involved in the light shows. But, for now, the 1's will satisfy my urge for a year until next black friday sale! The more I can show the lady how cool things look, the less against the spend she is. lol Great video! My love for smart lighting is also expanding quickly as well!
@@DustyJ excellent points you make! Haha yes I totally hear ya on trying to sell your significant other on the idea. Here's an idea 💡 that might help her feel comfortable on the spending. You could set them up on a automation. For example when my security camera detects a human (only human not animal or car) then my flood lights turn flashing red for 5 seconds & go back to warm white after unless human is still detected. Here's a list of some of the security things I've got for the house, like those A.I. cameras that can distinguish between an animal a car and a human. www.amazon.com/shop/getelevated
Thanks for the video. If you have 4 or 6, do the themes alternate the colours across the flood lights, so you can have stripes? Do they recommend a minimum distance they should be mounted from the wall, or could I mount them on the wall and still expect them to throw light up a decent height?
@@LeiChat they do alternate the colors across the lights & there's no recommended distance from govee however I can tell ya I've got them mounted in the dirt in our flower bed next to the govee spotlights & they outperform the spotlights on throw! It's pretty awesome. I'm curious how the spotlight 2 (if those ever come out) will perform
I’m curious. Are they spaced out the same length on the line as the 1st flood lights? Like say I’d like to replace the first ones with the second version. (I have all mine hung up)
@@section1595 they were both spaced out 4 inches from the wall & both canted 42 degrees. In fairness to the second version on the left hand side I should have moved the power adapter out of the way. 😅
