    I am 70 yrs of age and I have learned more from you and The Chosen show about the Apostles than any other teachings. I especially love the maps and pictures you show. We are going to Israel depending on when the war is over so I'm taking a lot of notes as I have just joined this channel. I know the hard work,time, effort,and expense it takes to run a utube such as this. You are an amazing young man.
    Love and prayers to you and your family

    I absolutely loved the Capernaum site when I visted Isreal as well. Keep up the geohistorical info sir. It helps me to link the past with the present. Your enthusiasm is great and I wish I could come with yall on you tour in 2024, but anyone else who can should definitely do so. Its a trip of a lifetime ❤😊

    4:00 Yes, Capernaum (Kafr Nahum) does mean Nahum's village, but Nahum also means "Comforter" in Hebrew. Capernaum could therefore also be understood as "the House of comfort/consolation".
    Also, the alleged Peter's house kinda reminds me of the Tabernacle with its 3 sections; The outer court, the Holy place and the Holy of Holies.

      I lived in Israel for seven years. What you'll find is that Jerusalem is a big spiritual pressure cooker. You can feel the weight of religion, if you're paying attention. The best places to visit are the Garden Tomb and the Pater Noster. On the lighter side, the best baklava in the Old City is on the Via Dolorosa. There's a trinket shop right across from it where the guy is always going out of business. If you need help in the Old City, stop by the Immanuel Bookshop next to Christchurch, near Jaffa Gate.
      But far more enjoyable, and peaceful, is the Sea of Galilee. Highly recommended.

      By boat, it's really no distance at all . A short sail , or even a row , easily done by strong young men , it's like saying , I'll just pop down the road to the dairy. , Mr Ben Dori of Poriya elit took me and my hubby on a tour of the area in 2006. He was a Most gracious and humble man. His family own the Galillee boats, He was a wonderful tour guide and became our friend , GOD IS SO GOOD . ❤ 🇮🇱 ❤nz

    Thank you for this video, the holy land, and knowing the cities mentioned in the bible could be a humbling experience, truth comes from God, and to often people focus with pride where they are from, when not truly understanding the achievements of those whom God actually spent time with!... so many today claim God dwells in them, and the holy spirit is in them, yet they are unable to perform miracles, interpret dreams, obey the holy commandments, and or to achieve things the bible saids took place ! JESUS walked on water, healed the sick, blind, def, Jesus even raised the dead, and all anyone had to do is reach out to touch Jesus to be healed! .. so all these preachers that say God dwells in them. And others go to them for prayer, they actually have God himself in them. But so many have to walk away not being healed ! ...this world has many tears. Many fears, many with sorrow, and to Know the teachings that God dwells in so many, and when i see and hear someone reaching out for God, asking forgiveness, asking for mercy, asking for compassion, asking for God to provide , and no answer is given, it obviously causes more fear ,more tears. More sorrow and grief!... especially with all this technology being able to see maps and the earth, being able to watch people go to space, watching the walk on the moon, watching aethiest. And so many scholars he able to perform medical procedures, and having a broken heart and mind seeking God! Of course the prophet Elijah showed the people that God was the power and authority! That the Jezebel and her followers were evil! ....the bible shows the bible heroes were heard in the heart and by the hand of God! ...the bible tells us God would never leave or forsake those whom trusted in him! ....so thank you for this video...

    The story goes that the Catholics wanted to build a church around this house and the Israeli Antiquites Authority refused to allow them to enclose the site so they built this building on stilts instead. It is also said that non-Catholics are not allowed inside the building.

    Wow, thinking that Jesus slept in and ate in that house is pretty mind-blowing! And, Brandon, do you know if the stones it is made from are the original ones? the outside walls look like they were made by an amateur, like not a qualified stonemason, such as the ones who made the Temple. Maybe Peter built that with his own hands?? What do you think?😊

    Jews did not worship in the synagogues. They read the Scriptures and discussed them and they were meeting places. "Worship" involves a sacrifice. That only occurred in the temple in Jerusalem. Worship is and always involves sacrifice.

    • @bobh375
      @bobh375 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      maria, I'm sorry but that is not accurate. Jews have always worshiped in Synagogues as did Messiah and all the followers of Him. Worship does NOT involve a sacrifice. The word "sacrifice" is a mistranslation of the original Hebrew word "Korbon", which means "to draw near" (to G-d) Messiah called it a gift in several places. Jews worship in the same way we do, with prayer.

    I don't believe that this was ever a house, let alone Peter's. You say that it looks like the walls were extended out to accommodate more people as the church grew. Assuming that the central ring was the original outermost wall of the building, in these pictures it does not look big enough for even one person to live in, let alone 3 (Peter, his wife, and her mother). Even the current outermost ring seems a bit small. It looks more like a well or public restroom to me, or maybe a storage/utility building of some sort.
    Secondly, has the writing that was found been accurately dated? If someone centuries or millennia after the house was gone, let's say for example during the Crusades, decided "this was the spot" even without much evidence to support that claim, then it naturally follows that others will make pilgrimages there. While there, they will leave notes and other graffiti of the variety found there. I know because people do this in modern times with statues in the image of and church buildings dedicated to people born long after the time of Christ.
    Yes, Jesus would have likely stayed at Peter's house from time to time. Yes, early Christians would have met there after His death. No, this is probably not the location of the house. From the picture shown, which admittedly does not give a good idea of the size of the structure, even the outermost ring is too small to fit a MINIMUM of twelve people comfortably inside. I say "minimum" because there were likely more. At the time Christ had many followers in addition to the apostles. Yes, it is amazing to walk in the places where His feet once trod, but it is far more important to tread His spiritual footsteps instead of His physical ones.
