seriously bro, TP has very good serves and very solid all around game, and most importantly, very very strong mental game, he's gonna be top 10 for sure
Tommy my man, gone up a gear in us summer season last year but I always remember him winning first title in Stockholm 2021 was massive for him and elevated his confidence, let’s go TP
I fell in love with Tommy Paul´s game during his match with Alcaraz last year. What an athlete, an all-around court player. I like his calm and cool attitude too. My favorite US guy with Frances the Entertainer. He reminds me of the great Mardy Fish a little.
@@CA_I when I first saw him his style reminded me of Gaston Gaudio. Later found out he won Junior Level Rolland Garros. Completely agree on him being different from American players
Love it. Tommy Paul is getting the attention he deserves. Works hard, plays at many tournaments. That match against Alcaraz, which he won, was very entertaining in Canada. I didn't get the feel from what I remember that Alcaraz played poorly. It was just a great match all the way around and it's what introduced me to Tommy Paul (aside from the Bag Check commercials).
Tommy Paul might just be the most underrated player on tour. He probably doesn't have a shot against Djokovic, but I surely would love to see him in a grand slam final.
actually I would say he has the most chance against Djokovic. He has the best mental game I have ever seen out of anyone, doesn't get frustrated by anything and extremely stable over hours of playing. Most top 20 players are capable of winning at least a set against Djokovic, but they lose the momentum easily because of the mental game
@@cks2020693 fair point. But his attacking style plays straight into Djokovic's strong suit. Novak tends to eat aggressive players alive when he gets to face them.
Khachanov has been my dark horse pick from the start of tournament. The way he's been playing lately I think he has a better chance than Tommy to beat Novax. I kinda wish the draw was different and that Khachanov was up against Novax in the semi. I still think Tommy has a chance though. I can see Khachanov beating Tsitsipas a Novax Khachanov final would be very interesting indeed. Or better yet, a Paul Khachanov final. This comment May age like milk, but here's hoping!
I loved Tommy the first time I watched him play in Delray Beach 2020. He is so much fun to watch and has an awesome vibe !!!! And his game has improved 100%. My favorite player hands down !!!!!!
Hopefully this AO run will help kickstart a great 2023 for Tommy. No way he beats Novak, but hopefully he can take a set off so that the match isn't boring
People say he's 'underrated'. But what does that mean? Cos the ranking system is the same for everyone: win more matches at better tournaments - get a better ranking..... So his ranking exactly reflects how good he's been in the last year.
Agree. I'd say great marketing opportunities for him with his talent and looks but, unfortunately, tennis is not all that popular here in the US. What's needed to make tennis more popular is a lot: a men's US tennis player that wins Grand Slams and wins them on a regular basis.
tommy paul never played..novak before..anyway tp has improved a lot mentally physically...this meeting he has nothing to lose....hope he gives a tough time to novak
When Aslan Karatsev made a surprise run to make the AO semis and lost to Novak, he became a fan favorite (see "Lord Aslan" comments in every video he is featured), and rightfully so. Now when Tommy Paul makes a surprise run to the semis and is likely to lose to Novak, everyone is discrediting his accomplishment because of Novak. Making a grand slam semi is something hundreds of pros dream about and will never do, so I don't see why people have a problem with Tommy getting some media attention and appreciation.
Am I the only who really appreciate the being humble of Tommy Paul? I start to know and follow him since his match against Sinner at Madrid and the impressive thing is how good he is on clay court a stranger thing for an American player, they tendetially good on hard court. By the way, i really like his game style and tecnique but as i said, most of that his behavior on court. For example i don’t like Novak when he start to shout and do Novak things in the thrilling moments That’s my opinion
The most over rated piece of rubbish on the mens tour! Rating inflated by a good major but that was clearly a fluke as he is getting hammered every week since. Just watched Jarry destroy him from a set up. Shocking player with the attitude to match
Tommy Paul is so underrated

Agreed, always had an awesome talent but a helluva lot of injuries so really nice to see him injury free, fantastic tennis player 🎉🔥
@@cks2020693 his worst weakness was he’s fitness but his improved that part so much in 2022 so now he can really thrive
He got lucky his draw was easy
Not anymore.

tom is one of that outdoorsy american breed who is just superior in whatever you compete with him . i highly admire !
Not a typical American player though, good at the net, and strong backhand.

Why can't he win? He's got a better chance than people like De Minaur, as he can play an attacking style and he's good at the net.

Lol, no chance! Best outcome at 4 set most.

Underrated in how much attention he gets I'm pretty sure is what they mean

The ones against Rafa the best!
now if he can do shots like this over 3-5 sets he can beat Djokovic in semis of AO
This guy is fast but is he in the same league as dojovic
No
Ok, multiply thrilling shots and rallies by 3 and post 30 most by Novak Djokovic.
Come on Tommy. Beat that Serbian injury faker
Do u really think his injury unsettles the players???
@@SoumenChatterjee35098 he is not injured. Djokovic is lying as usual. Like father like son
He injuried himself in Adelaide. Anyway injuried or not doesn't matter, smashes them all like in the previous nine AOs.
