I did this job for over 9 years in the UK and we picked everything up by hand! This just seems ridiculous.

I used to live in SoCal and I'm in AZ now. I talked to the guys picking up my bulk in the same fashion and they said it is a "safety" issue because of all of the workers comp claims. Notice no one is using their backs any longer.

That would be smart. But it probably isn't really helpful to pack a dense material, since once wood is chipped it becomes smaller and easier to fill into places.
these are the kind of people that take two days to put a toilet in a garbage truck
+Nathan Stock Yeah. Garbage Men in Action (a video I shot on the next day) had a four man crew to "catch up" on the "heavy loads". They were behind by almost a whole day.

Oh my God what a waste of time and effiency! In Finland the driver lifts it all up, and gets money from that (also as per hour). Meny, meny minutes per place would have been saved without that loader..

No need for that 2nd machine, its taking too long to load the truck and with manual lifters it would take less time.

+Boom Trucks Recycling Productions Eventually. I think this series did great and I will most likely try and film again in 2016 to continue the series. There is still two or so videos that will be coming out (one the finale and another just additional clips for another time).

I like some of the older Recology trucks. The company itself is okay.
Is the driver falling asleep or what? I can go faster than him by just crawling. And what does he get even paid for? Using the levers without even watching what he is doing?
Like your videos but the guy that is truck driver is not using his brain and looking when loader opperator puts a couch in he should open up packer before couch or chair is put in hopper cause when he does open it up makes mess

+Nicholas Littlejohn Actually, per CalRecycle regulations, this is considered Construction Debris and is sorted a special facility with a 90% recycling rate.
Talk about inefficient! Christ. The guy on the truck could work multiples faster than that loader. Such a waste of time.
