What’s worse- is that banner photo wasn’t even good. They really took all that heat for a picture with a deformed looking horse shoulder and wonky tack. It makes me so sad as an artist myself to see creators being ripped off and let go everywhere. I haven’t even wanted to share my art online anymore for the past year. Even TH-cam now has been frustrating, with the rise of automated bots flagging my videos for kids when they’re not, and people stealing my videos. I’m considering erasing my presence online before AI gets even worse. I know that’s sounds very doomer of me and I hate it. 💀
I work as a graphic designer in a marketing team; you outlined the exact process of asset request to a T, so unless it's some weird internal company objective deadline (which don't tend to be as specific as "change all banners across social media platforms by X date", even if it is an attempt to improve acquisition/retention), it doesn't make sense to not follow a request process/use an old asset. Super bizarre.
I really hoped the candle being made with AI was not a door opening to AI but a one time thing but here we are.. AI art ontop of them letting go of their artists or most of their artists so... 👀 SSO step away from the AI door please.

There are a lot of people who don't seem to understand this, and it drives me nuts. I'm also finding the "last minute" excuse from SSO a poor one. It's like saying that you needed to change your profile pic last minute. Noo..? You don't. There's no deadline on those types of things., so I don't understand how they can be "last minute".

Remember, when star stable used to ask their fans to give them fan, art and be like we have a fan art contest blah blah blah and then they literally have like a thing posted in their daily news from like four years ago of desktop wallpapers where you can click it and there’s over 50 to choose from for your desktop and they’re all made by fans now they just use AI it so stupid they should go back to where someone draws it for them. It’s much better and way Prettier.

I just put one of my digital drawings in the ai detector thing and.. Yeah it says it's most likely ai generated, Which.. Is weird XD I did however do some photobashing with the background so maybe some of those trees I got on google were ai generated? I don't really know how this stuff works honestly, it's frustrating to see you can't really trust the images you find on google especially on free to use png sites to make your work more efficient x) Regarding the excuse they made.. I feel like it would have been more ok if for some reason they had to change the banner because of the banner format on spotify changed, and they needed to use an ai program to complete the already existing artwork in the wrong format (dont know if I make sense, but you can ask ai to add 10 cm to your artwork basically if you need it so this as a last minute excuse I would understand, not an entire drawing..
I don’t know much more than what’s open to the public, but I would suggest comparing it to Epic Games’ Support-A-Creator program for example if you’re curious how it aligns with other affiliate programs! I personally find SSO’s language a bit confusing and lacking LOL
