I agree that if you have to scan your QR code every time to get into the park (or to enter certain areas like the Breyer Store), it would be a big issue on slowing things down. I hope maybe they will have some kind of wristband or handstamp or something like that they do at the park so people don't have to scan the code more than once a day to get in. Not being able to trade SR tickets anymore is a bit of a bummer. Personally I think Breyer made this digital change because of the hassle of distributing tickets, people losing their tickets, international people having to pick up their tickets at BreyerFest, etc. over it being them making more money this way. I think the QR codes are actually going to incentives some people to buy less Special Runs. I feel like some people (younger collectors or ones that are having models paid by their parents) are less likely going to want to spend money on a model they don't want to then try to trade it, rather than not pay anything extra and trade their ticket with someone else for the model they do want. If that makes sense. It's hard to say what will happen exactly this year, but I hope everything will run smoothly.

I am 25 and I suck at anything that has to be thru a phone or laptop, it took me 3 hours to hook my phone to my trucks bluetooth and that is with help from a friend. It's another reason why I don't think I'll make it this yr, I guess friends can still do pick ups?
If you go to your car to drop off your bags, do you have to get back in line to get your QR scanned again? What about parking? BF has free parking but other events going on at the KHP that weekend do not so will every vehicle entering the KHP have to stop at the booths in the drive to get a QR code scanned? That will take frikken forever! Before you simply held up a parking pass & you were waved through. Now every car will be stopped & scanned each time. It will be noon before everyone gets in. I stopped buying tickets when they went cashless. I do all my shopping & spend all my money at the hotel. The money I save by not purchasing 3-4 BF tickets covers the markup on the models. So I’m spending the same amount of money & getting exactly what I want without worrying about trading or flawed models or vouchers or QR codes. I can use cash (which I strongly prefer) & Breyer doesn’t get one penny of it. If my cash money isn’t good enough for Breyer then I’ll take it elsewhere. I’ve been to every in person BF since 1992 (perk of living in Lexington) & I spent thousands each year at BF, with most of that going directly to Breyer. They’ll not see one cent of that money as long as they are cashless & digital. In all honesty this cashless & digital ticket buIIsh*t is one more step in eliminating in person BF & making it an online only event. In the next 3-5 yrs BF will no longer be at the KHP. It will be all online.
I don’t think they’re concerned with people sneaking into the KHP. On the parks side, even if people don’t buy entry they are likely to buy concessions or other small purchases. On Breyers side they know most people that are coming want to buy models and wouldn’t just be seeking entry alone. I also don’t understand why there is such concern with the QR codes. We will be there in person, buy the model and then trade. Don’t even worry about buying/trading the actual codes, do the transaction with the actual model. I’ve been suggesting the QR codes for years and I’m so excited. I think it will make it a lot easier.
From what I’ve seen in the past with people wanting to buy extra SR tickets, it’s specifically to try and get a variation of the model. So for last year with the color shift speos model, I know a good amount of people were looking to get extra tickets to try and gamble at pulling the variation ‘at cost’ instead of the second hand prices which were insane obviously compared to like $65 or so. That’s the only thing that will be a lot harder to do now because if I go through the line and pull a variation and I’m not a huge fan of the original model or whatever, the trade value/resale value of the variation is way more than the original and a lot of people want to try and pull the variation on their own 😊 that’s the biggest reason for trading tickets! But I also totally understand where you’re coming from with just the regular SR models to just trade after you’ve personally bought them like most people do with the surprise horses!
No one is going to trade a model they paid $85 for a model that cost $65. Would you be willing to lose $20 on a trade? For example you buy the Surprise, even though you hate the mold, because you put it on your preference list & it was chosen by Breyer for you. You pay $85 for the Surprise. Now would you trade that $85 model for a SR that cost $65? Would you trade it for Miss Independent or Edge of Glory? No of course not. You’d lose $20 if you did that. Before this all digital nonsense people could trade vouchers then purchase the model. No one got the short end in a trade. Now some people will lose money in a trade or get stuck with models they don’t want or risk trading for a code that’s already been used. It’s a stupid move on Breyer’s part.
