The story of Willy Kathurima, Tswana cattle farmer of Kenyan origin in Botswana. We visited his farm again, after being there three years ago, and a lot has changed.
#DaringAbroad #ChamsMediaDigital
This is really thought provoking and inspiring, from Zambia 🇿🇲 we can learn something from our neighbours who put resources to best use.
I’m falling in love with Botswana!
I have been there before Botswana is the safest country in Africa
You should visit South Africa.
@@tsepondlovu1981 where they kill foreigners?
@@tsepondlovu1981 no xD
@@archie2555 Depends on what media you get your news from really, Because Propaganda News will always divide Africans.Let me enlighten you :South Africans are not killers of Foreigners not at all, When the angry masses protest and fight against the scourge crime and drug Lords it is just unfortunate that the drug Lords that are killing our beloved country are not South Africans. What em I saying, drugs Lord only have a nationality when they are killed, while they still alive and killing the nation no one owns up to say they are our nationals. if South Africans are drug lords in your country do to them what we do to drug Lords in South Africa.

He is doing great
wow....commendable
Absolutely brilliant. god bless you
I salute the good work of Mr Kathurima...but I also wonder why our government can't give us opportunities in our own country kenya....am in abudhabi n am given homely welcome here with my technical skills...but if I go back to Kenya I feel sad due to corruption in our homeland
Send us your contact, we may meet there one day, who knows?
Am Ghanaian, currently in uk the corruptions in all the African countries is what's letting the continent down, Ghana for instance huge percent of our food is coming from abroad and in Ghana we have the climate to produce everything in Ghana without importing from abroad, but the corruption is high and it's not going to stop at anytime soon, that's the sad reality in the African continent at large
WOW.....IMPRESSED
If Kathurima can be sincere, he ran away from our corrupt system. You've done a great job sir.
Lol..🤣🤣🤣
It better we join him there
This is awesome
Timo, bravo see you soon from Uganda

Well done uncle!
Beutiful clean nice
This is the kind of stuff that really motivates me
Good
Great achievement. We will meet soon !
nice job
Good job my brother from meru.
Gog given...🙏
Lovely to see cattle...I love cows. I grew up in Mathira, Nyeri District with milking cow. I milked cows at a very early age. Now living in the UK. When I see this farming, herd of cattle, goats and sheep, Mr. Kathurima is farming, it is very exciting. This is wonderful thing to see in youtube. Sometimes, we need to move away from our geographical location, move out and see other countries experiences, work, education and of course farming. I was wondering Mr. Kathurima is in any way related to a Kathurima who used to work as Chief Personnel Manager in Kenya Power and Lighting in early 1991, 1992 thereabout. Well done Mr.Kathurima in Botswana. Let me know.
True
nice job nchaamba
It’s an irony. Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) was a beacon that was sought for cattle rearing. Cattle experts came to KMC to be trained on rearing cattle. Botswana took the learnings and implemented them. Kenyans took their corrupt ways and KMC folded multiple times. When shall we Kenyans ever learn?
Hustler nation loading in 2022, Kenyans never learn, bure kabisa, na MTU ataamka mapema Ku vote...nkt
I would like to visit some time during the year. What do I need to do for an appointment?
How much is a cow in Nigeria
3700$usd
Sometimes good governance counts in business that lacks in kenya
I'm inspired, more expecially with their stocktheft management, I hope my country South Africa can learn one or two lessons here were a stock theft is a crisis and more & more aspiring small farmers are left discouraged. Asante Sana.
Ya in Botswana there is even stock theft unit in Botswana police and have tracking system. It is not perfect because there are still some butchery that buy stolen cattle but its easy for the police to catch them if the is a whistle blowing.
Pastoralism that Africans first pioneered in Nubia and the green Sahara west of the Nile dates back thousands of years before the rise of the ancient Egyptian nation and was the origin of the expansion of the tradition throughout the continent including southern Africa...
I will like to visit this place for 2 or 3 days. Anybody know how to book visiting appointment?
Sometimes I think of Kenya and feel like running away. Corruption is the heartbeat of our lives.
It is difficult to succeed in Kenya ...I just lost a piece of land becuse I came to find out it had been resold countless times and the courts are just as corrupt
Redd Dott sad don't give up try and deal with genuine reputable property consultants when purchasing land don't deal with the landowner
@Brian Nato I had to learn the hard way
Gai ni KENYA yawa pole sana huko KENYA bado !
this is happening in Ghana as well
Then your land management agency is corrupt. In Botswana it was like that at some point but they have computerized the whole system and you can't sell one plott twice, it will show up in the system.
I need something from Kenya.this man can be useful for me..contacts
I salute out mukuru wa kimeru need to come there, invite me for good work you are doing.

@@dreadhead5719 you're very stupid, Allah means God. Christian arabs they call their God Allah as well not just muslims.
Here in Botswana we don't do number is against our culture...no bragging here..do your thing..
🤣🤣🤣... Ya you don't do that here, some believe ba tla go loa, so don't go around shouting ur success.
Botswana is in the league of most disciplined country in terms of governance together with Namibia and Rwanda. It is amazing how these three countries work to have rule of law, serenity, sound environmental policies and maintenance of socio cultural heritage sinewed into a very fantastic and coherent society. Am particularly thrilled by its developments spanning every nook and cranny, which make choosing a town or village to visit very daunting. I love Maun, Francistown, Serowe, Moroka, Lobatse, Kanye, Nata, Tsabong amongst others. Good governance on display. Other British colonies especially in west Africa are in retrogressive spin due to underdevelopment borne out of deceit and corruption at the highest level. I salute Sir Seretse Khama for his vision which endures tillbtoday and the future. Am not African but i do travel a lot on adventure and to explore.
Amb,Kathurima,,,we talk of in calf cow not pregnant
I wonder if mr katurima is doing this in his own country kenya how corruption could have messed up his good work.
shiku wanjiku the reality why sometimes u have to leave kenya and do something in another country
I'm sure he has tested the waters and thought it wise to move to a foreign country.
This coment is underated!
Dr Dlodlo i always admire your brahman bulls by Esigodini Tollgate, you are a true breeder. I promise one day i will start breeding my own cross breeds ,it will be of better or greater value if you could open a school for us young people and attach us on you farm ,give us knowledge that will take this beautiful country out of poverty.
African must learn from Botswana
Ya we are one of the best when it comes to beef farming.
Please I'm in Uganda, let me go and work for you
How much farm land cost pre acre in Botswana
We don't do hectares only
KENYA SILVER BULLET. since we have idle land why cant the govt make it easy for the youth to access the land., with a little boost these people can do wonders not only for themselves but for the nation at large. noticed mr kathurima is utirising dry land which is plenty in kenya.
let not our people migrate to prosper creating jobs in far off land.
on a different note noted how they have managed cattle rustling for good
.
Ya surprisingly Botswana is semi arid but with a lot of grass and small bushes and hot temperatures, our cattle is thriving in these conditions n the region that is producing more beef is more of a semi dessert area. They also mostly practice communal grassing nothing fancy except for those with ranches like boers and other Batswana.
Wooooow Hereford Performance better in Botswana
Thos cows in the back like shish your heard that shyt 6 years ??

I love breeding cattle

Another reason why living in Kenya is wasting my youth years...
Travel...Kenyan are making it globally. I left in 07. Best decision I have ever made.
I am moving out of this country. Am tired. I don't want to die miserable like Jacob Juma

@@KenLwenyi is zuma dead wena?
Turns out Mr Kathurima is giving us Kenyans a run for our money yet we got a great climatic conditions
steve kariuki too much corruption in kenya
Kenya has good land. Find your space and maximize on land use. Cattle farming is just one of very many ways of investing on the space that you have. Go for it. It works.
Bobojane Spanere am Kenyan thanks for sharing info.so does Botswana gvt have problems in paying farmers kana its rosy when it comes to paying them
Bobojane Spanere wow Botswana must be so professional on its way of doing business with farmers i like it ,am now seeing the clear business opportunity in ur country. Here in kenya we run farms in a privatized manner from start to finish which is good at the same time bad in terms of business, ur country is really a nice business model .thank you for the info ave learnt a lot ,twakwamukela kenya (welcome to kenya)
@Bobojane Spanere you got all the points Mr Spanere
Always government to help.Nosense, you will grow old before you get help from government.
But in Botswana government helps a lot when it comes to farming, it subsidies animal feed, help with tracking ing system of animals, strong in anti stock theft and look for export markets and the beef that we eat is only from Botswana.
I understand most of Botwana is desert
Semi desert, nevertheless we have enough of cultivatable land for our people
A desert with a lot of grass and shrubs, thats why we have a lot of wild animals and our cattle is thriving.
Dessert is the best place to control cattle because water is limited
Your number kathurima
Botswana is a great country, they dont blame white people for all problems and invest in own people)
Botswana was never colonized
@@simplecocunut4229 I think it makes difference, it'd easy to blame others for the failure
@@andrerothweiler9191 i agree, most african country need to be learn how to really be independant and stop acting like victims. I know bad thing happen to them during colinazation, but it not a reason to be a failure.
WHO wrote the title description, an incomprehensible gibberish." cattle farmer of Kenyan origin in Botswana: should read : a cattleman in Kenyan, who originally came from Botswana". Or Botswana cattleman, now living in Kenya" . " visited his farm again, after being there three years ago, and a lot has changed." instead " our second visit after three years absence" ...repetitive and incomprehensible , poor sentence structure and poor grammar. Shame on you
Are you for real?? He's a kenyan living in Botswana.
Keep it up big man..
