As suffering from a vertebral disc degenerative disease myself on top of having a severe spine canal stenosis, I have known that I would end one day in a wheelchair (which is the case now) and I have also lived my life to the fullest, and still now I have projects to fulfill even if I am less mobile. But I am 50, I have lived life. I don't think I would have done it so easily in Jacob's shoes or having my health problems at his age. He truly is a real fighter and an inspiration to me, pushing me to do better and work harder to overcome or adapt to the situation I am dealt with. Wish him many more good airsoft fun and memories and if you see him again, Mustang, let him know his story and the way he take on living on despite his health issues is inspiring more people than he knows, and that I will never forget him and how this "conversation" has inspired me.
It’s interesting what he says about how the cancer gives him a motivation to live his life to the fullest. How many people waste their lives because they don’t have anything looming over them reminding them that they need to make the most of the time they have.

Yes, 80% of Airsoft people dont call their hits when nobody sees them.. Thats why airsoft sniping sucks. You pay a lot of money to have an accurate gun for long range, and nobody calls their hit if you manage to shoot them...

I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the end of 2016. I am in remission, and have been since 2017. I also have other health problems, not related to the Cancer. I am 54 years old, and wish I had half the drive and gumption that Jacob has. Glad that he isn't letting his diagnosis hold him back!

Used to watch a lot of airsoft videos in hospital and dreamed to play it one day. Glad to be alive and on the field with amazing ppl that I meet every weekend ❤

Many of us can learn from Jacob. I'm a 49 year old dad of 2 boys and a 23 year police officer in America. Jacob impressed me because of his positive outlook on life. We should all live like him...as everyday is a blessing. Keep fighting the good fight Jacob.

That was very touching. Most people slog through life day to day not really thinking about the inevitable future we all face, and never do what makes them happy. I did it for 20 years, but no more, so At 50 yrs old, I’m going back to school and doing what makes me happy for once. None of us is here forever. Find what you love, and embrace it with the time you are given. Very powerful lesson to be learned from that kid.

You can truly appreciate Jacob in so many ways.. nobody knows how truly horrible it is to have cancer until they experience it or experienced it day in and day out with someone very close to them.. Once the cancer progresses... there aren’t words to explain how painful it is to watch someone slowly die from cancer.... I lost my mother to two forms of cancer 12-26-2018 and I’ve never woken up due to crying in my sleep until I lost her..... It took seven years but in the end she finally got to rest...
I suffer from a rare genetic disorder which has caused me to suffer from peripheral arterial disease , macular degeneration and also nerve problems which will shorten my life by alot and watching this amazing young man deal with his condition with such strength is truly inspirational. I can't imagine being in that situation, thanks for posting this. I've been really down lately with life situations and hearing jacobs situation and still being able to smile just makes me want to make the most of my life if not for myself, then for him.
He reminds me of my mum when she was alive and battling through her cancer. Always making jokes, trying to keep the darkness away, wanting us not to think about it.
Jacob has an old strong soul guiding him through his shorter but much more intensive life. He will just be reunited with his higher self a bit sooner then the rest of us. Great how you took your time and heart to share your spirits with him.
Cancer is tough, man. I lost a friend to bone cancer a year after he graduated high school. He was a year older than me and battled it for 3 years. I always had the same thoughts you do when I saw him until 5 years ago when I got kidney cancer. I beat it, but I still have exponentially greater risks of developing things like stomach cancer now looming over my head forever. It taught me a lot of things. Never take life for granted, because we never know when it might all come to an end. And I always tell people now, even if you have no issues of any kind, whenever you can, find a way to live like you were dying. You’ll never realize how much you’re missing otherwise.

As someone with a disorder that there's no treatment for and will continue to handicap me for the rest of my life I gotta say that Jacob is an inspiration. He's right when people just try to make a joke of it and soldier on because I've spent many a long day in bed, in agony both physical and emotional and they're the longest days ever. Kudos to him and I hope he stays playing airsoft for a very long time
Definitely appreciate the feather added to your weapon for camo! I make my own ghillie suits and love adding touches like that. I once went a whole match with basically an entire tree branch with leaves attached to my suit and literally had people stepping right on me and going by.
Watching this video again today and remembering the first time I saw it. Jacob's legacy will forever live on. Wish we had more airsofters who loved the game and lived life like him.

Most of us can't seem to grasp of finality of our own mortality until it, quite literally, smacks us in the face; That exact moment of realisation of "Oh f****, forever really will surpass us." Next time you see him, I'd appreciate you giving him a big hug on behalf of everyone who's yet to find themselves in that situation, because goodness knows we'll all need that when it's our turn.

That was very touching. Most people slog through life day to day not really thinking about the inevitable future we all face, and never do what makes them happy. I did it for 20 years, but no more, so At 50 yrs old, I’m going back to school and doing what makes me happy for once. None of us is here forever. Find what you love, and embrace it with the time you are given. Very powerful lesson to be learned from that kid.

You can truly appreciate Jacob in so many ways.. nobody knows how truly horrible it is to have cancer until they experience it or experienced it day in and day out with someone very close to them.. Once the cancer progresses... there aren’t words to explain how painful it is to watch someone slowly die from cancer.... I lost my mother to two forms of cancer 12-26-2018 and I’ve never woken up due to crying in my sleep until I lost her..... It took seven years but in the end she finally got to rest...
I suffer from a rare genetic disorder which has caused me to suffer from peripheral arterial disease , macular degeneration and also nerve problems which will shorten my life by alot and watching this amazing young man deal with his condition with such strength is truly inspirational. It's people like that who really drive me to continue fighting for what I have . Thank you for sharing kicking Mustang
I didnt want to cry skin. My grandmother had leukemia and i had to watch her suffer and i know what his family is going through and that brought so many memories back. Thank you for sharing his conversation with him to us.

I can't imagine being in that situation, thanks for posting this. I've been really down lately with life situations and hearing jacobs situation and still being able to smile just makes me want to make the most of my life if not for myself, then for him.
He reminds me of my mum when she was alive and battling through her cancer. Always making jokes, trying to keep the darkness away, wanting us not to think about it.
This kid is the embodiment of Stoicism.

Jacob has an old strong soul guiding him through his shorter but much more intensive life. He will just be reunited with his higher self a bit sooner then the rest of us. Great how you took your time and heart to share your spirits with him.

Cancer is tough, man. I lost a friend to bone cancer a year after he graduated high school. He was a year older than me and battled it for 3 years. I always had the same thoughts you do when I saw him until 5 years ago when I got kidney cancer. I beat it, but I still have exponentially greater risks of developing things like stomach cancer now looming over my head forever. It taught me a lot of things. Never take life for granted, because we never know when it might all come to an end. And I always tell people now, even if you have no issues of any kind, whenever you can, find a way to live like you were dying. You’ll never realize how much you’re missing otherwise.
Aww, you got yourself a little trooper right there. A trustworthy comrade. It melted my heart hearing him enthusiastically go "Common Kicking" while running into combat zone.
Shout out to Jacob! What an inspiring story. His mindset and enthusiasm is contagious!

As someone with a disorder that there's no treatment for and will continue to handicap me for the rest of my life I gotta say that Jacob is an inspiration. He's right when people just try to make a joke of it and soldier on because I've spent many a long day in bed, in agony both physical and emotional and they're the longest days ever. Kudos to him and I hope he stays playing airsoft for a very long time

I suspect I'm far from the first to say this... But Jacob's situation is a shining example to us all. Most of us can't seem to grasp of finality of our own mortality until it, quite literally, smacks us in the face; That exact moment of realisation of "Oh f****, forever really will surpass us."
Next time you see him, I'd appreciate you giving him a big hug on behalf of everyone who's yet to find themselves in that situation, because goodness knows we'll all need that when it's our turn.
