I genuinely expected Cartman to try and weasel out of getting hit. Him acknowledging that he got shot and playing by the rules is actually a very welcome surprise.

Cartman actually said he got hit, that's surprising. He's actually playing the game fairly instead of cheating (He even said that Kyle getting him was sweet)
I have to ask, when was the last time the boys just got to be kids and enjoy themselves? No crazy adventures, no strangely timed moral lesson for them or someone, no animosity between cartman and kyle, no being parents to their parents or someone along those lines. Just four boys having fun together doing something. I want more episodes like this one.
Yeah I know everyone loves the current events style episodes that they’re always pumping out but I’d really like it if they returned to this style once in a while. Doesn’t have to be all the time but it would be a nice nod to us old-school fans that’s for sure not to mention it would probably have the youngr fans laughing too.
I don’t think there ever was an episode like that. Literally the first ever episode of the show involves a massive alien satellite being implanted in Cartman’s rectum.
I was grinning the whole time during this episode , I didn't realize how much I missed the boys just having fun and being kids . also the depiction of teenagers is so godamn accurate! one of my favorite episodes now!
I remember when I played in an indoor arena like this when I was a kid . So many people violate the full auto rule and wouldn’t go to respawn when hit.
I love how excited Cartman is. He’s so overjoyed that he ends up following the rules and says he’s hit after he shoots Kyle. That’s some surprising growth for Eric.
Tbh- I played paintball growing up, but both Paintball and Airsoft seem to make a lot of kids grow into their confidence a bit quicker than other activities. They’re playing a fun, “big kid” sport, usually with some old timer adults who can sense when there’ll be problems and do what is needed to mitigate any issues before they start(like actually happened when the old timer ref here made sure the youngsters didn’t have a bad time by getting outmatched and shot up), and being on what is a playing field where everyone can have a fun role and make a difference for their team, often regardless of one’s extreme physical prowess, really makes “combat sports” like paintball and Airsoft really good for youngsters and people of all ages really- in my experience these can be very “Honor system” bound sports and those who don’t roll with that get outted as shiteater losers real quick and get there welcomes taken away usually pretty quick. Also: with them carrying what can be a lot of heavy equipment, these games can be really great full body exercises that are also fun as heck, and actually statistically safer than golf last I checked. Even though I played paintball in my day, and am currently aiming to get into Magfed Paintball as opposed to Airsoft(though i may hop into airsoft if i can afford it and magfed pb)- I can’t recommend Airsoft, Magfed, or just regular old Paintball enough to folks who’d like to get into a new hobby or sport: they’re generally a very welcoming, awesome crowd, with some of the funnest times of my life being hanging out as a referee/field monkey at Petty Paintball out in Red Rock, Texas. Good times! How I wish she was still a field open to the public. :)

It was made to say things any way they want and not give a fuck who GETS offended by what they have to say/portray....there's a big difference and it's why it's so successful, and them treating everyone equally shitty because there is no bias...
the people who write this show DEFINITELY played a few rounds at a local airsoft field to research. even the guns they are using, the lingo, everything is just too perfect!

I’m gonna be honest, I half expected Cartman’s gun to shoot like a metal pellet or something instead of a an air soft BB. But no, it was just an air soft gun and nothing insane or sociopathic happened.

Honestly outside of that one instance, I’m amazed Cartman actually called his hits, given that if there’s some way to exploit the system he’ll usually opt for that
But he didn't call the hit. The problem in airsoft is that calling out you are hit is just as much for you because it stops you from being hit further. And since we know cartman is at heart a bitch he'll admit he got hit if it prevents him from being hit further
@@CokesAndTokes maybe it's because I used an ancient TM FAMAS with a Gen 1 gearbox, but I could hear that thing lurch when I used semi auto. It failed to fire a lot as well.

This has been the most accurate depiction of airsoft I've ever seen... Coming from someone whose played for years. Everything from what the ref says to the players. Everyone always used the kids as bait.
played airsoft for the first time last week, this episode is accurate af 😂 especially the jackasses turning on full auto despite being told not to...i got hit in the funnybone ffs, that hurt like hell. had a great time though kenny genuinely enjoying himself is so cute, little dude deserves good times

The boys just having fun and what more Cartman and Kyle felt like good buddies throughout the episode. Most of the times when they're not arguing with each other, they we're just neutral, but this episode gives them vibes I love.

This had to be, without a doubt, one of the best episodes of modern South Park. To me, it felt like an older season episode where it focused on all 4 of the boys solely, which is what the newer seasons have been missing. We also got to see the boys acting their age again and bonding over their love of Airsoft. They’re just going out and having fun and it’s so sweet. And the final scene where they team up with their dads (and of course, Stan’s Uncle Jimbo) to take down the teenagers…the father/son bonding in this episode was by far the best part!!!! I hope we see more episodes like this in the future seasons!!!!
Not gonna lie, Cartman was so innocent in this scene. Looks happy playing airsoft with his buddies. Didn’t mind getting shot at the end and was smiling.

He said to the gang that he’s feeling “depressed” probably because of where he lives at and playing airsoft was the best thing he did for 3 hours of his whole life, and he told his friends he loves them. But…. He might change next episode.
You know, for years I've been saying I like old SP better but man with the Post COVID specials and what they're putting out now, it feels like Matt and Trey have breathed new life into the series and reminded us why we love the show.

This episode was so good! Brought back some seriously good memories play airsoft with my friends years ago. I am willing to bet airsoft sales are gonna skyrocket after this episode aired.
DUDE!!!! I can't believe how perfectly they captured airsoft. The pre-game instructions, the *SOUND DESIGN*, the mix of adults who take it too seriously and teenagers just hanging out.... perfection. I used to play as a kid all the time and despite the occasional awkwardness at bigger events, it was some of the most fun I've ever had. Pro-tip for anyone who wants to pick it up today - playing with six friends in the woods is always more fun than big events.
I can agree with you, I’ve been playing airsoft for a Long time(Or as I refer to it, Call of duty But it’s IRL). When I started the only equipment I ran with was just jeans and a hoodie with a long-sleeve shirt under it(Just basically Picture army men walking towards a fight except one guy wearing a sweatshirt with his hood up, mask, and jeans on, yeah that was me back then😅) so I said “What’s wrong with this picture to my team and If they can’t figure it out then I’m like “you guys have army outfits on, I only have a hoodie and jeans🤣)now I just run a Long sleeve shirt, Vest, urban army Camo pants and some Black Boots And my mask which includes Eye and neck protection. Like you, I’d prefer Field arenas rather than Warehouse arenas. Gives you some good fresh air plus some decent Camo Coverage

Glad to see South park return to the classic formula. South park was at its best with the kids just doing normal things like playing video games or going ziplining
This was one of the best episodes in a long time. Wholesome, focused on the boys, used the adults correctly as supporting characters, and was genuinely funny!

I love the fact that cartman is actually showing good sportsmanship like when Kyle hit him so he came out and got hit he didn’t get mad or anything he just went with it this goes to show than all the kids like air soft and it’s a fun and fair game for all
Tru🤣 I often make this reference when I go to airsoft parks and see people losing their mind over it and if I see that I say to some people “I swear that guy must have 100+ hours of Warzone or even playing cod multiplayer.
Nice to both see Airsoft in a cartoon, and have it look and feel like an actual game, not just show a bunch of rage or people taking a casual match like a major Milsim event.
It would've been funny to have your generic 40 year old fat dude who gets mad at the kids on the field and treats the game like actual war. Other than that, this was a pretty accurate portrayal of your average weekend at a local field.
I've been playing Airsoft since late 2019, and this is a surprisingly accurate representation of Airsoft. All you need is the weird kid that dresses up as a Nazi, and the MilSimers getting pissed and starting fights. Glad to see more representation of Airsoft in mainstream media. You guys definitely did your research.
I have to agree with everyone else. This is relieving to see the boys actually being normal kids, having fun. not trying to kill each other over religious differences or trying to save the world from a crazy World War Z threat. The only thing that would make this better is all the kids playing, like Craig's gang, some other boys, the girls, even.
i hope they keep this in future episodes, like they keep hanging out playing airsoft in their free time. With how continuity works lately i think its pretty likely
I hope to God that they do such a thing. Through all the bullshit they do on the show a scene where cartman (or anyone else) is just like, 'Screw this, guys, let's go play airsoft!' I'd fucking love that.
This was a great episode especially seeing the boys having genuine fun. Teenagers were so accurate, it even represented the 0.01% that would either have no eye protection and blind firing. It's an episode of South Park and wasn't mentioned in their pre-game rules so...
Honestly, this is probably one of the best episodes we've had in *years* and that's saying something. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much with a South Park episode.

As someone who was super into airsoft in the late 2000s, this is fantastic and still accurate. I had the Scarface M16 with a functioning gas powered grenade launcher. Heavy as hell but it rocked. I think my chest rig and M9 holster are still somewhere in my parent’s attic

That was such a fun Episode. I love it. For me one of the best of the last years. Great that they got back to the smaller scaled stories in this season.
This is the best season in a long time, it feels like actual South Park again instead of being all about Randy and Tegridy Farms. It legit put a smile on my face when Randy appeared in the episode wearing his old blue shirt and not his farm outfit.
@Deadprez101 Hitler creating World War 2 is a good thing. Yeah, not all opinions hold much water. Don't expect episodes like this to be frequent. Trey and Matt have made it clear they're not nearly as interested in the kid characters as they used to be, and Season 23 as a whole is full of meta commentary responding to nitpicky fans who get upset so easily that the four boys aren't the centre of attention. Wendy is my favourite character in the series, and it's admittedly frustrating she doesn't have many episodes that centre around her, but I'm a fan and not a writer and at most I can respect content that's well made regardless if it caters to what I want (I want doesn't get), and it does make those few episodes all the more special. Fanbases are cringe inducing to say the least.

I was grinning the whole time during this episode , I didn't realize how much I missed the boys just having fun and being kids . also the depiction of teenagers is so godamn accurate! one of my favorite episodes now!

Tbh- I played paintball growing up, but both Paintball and Airsoft seem to make a lot of kids grow into their confidence a bit quicker than other activities.
They’re playing a fun, “big kid” sport, usually with some old timer adults who can sense when there’ll be problems and do what is needed to mitigate any issues before they start(like actually happened when the old timer ref here made sure the youngsters didn’t have a bad time by getting outmatched and shot up), and being on what is a playing field where everyone can have a fun role and make a difference for their team, often regardless of one’s extreme physical prowess, really makes “combat sports” like paintball and Airsoft really good for youngsters and people of all ages really- in my experience these can be very “Honor system” bound sports and those who don’t roll with that get outted as shiteater losers real quick and get there welcomes taken away usually pretty quick.
Also: with them carrying what can be a lot of heavy equipment, these games can be really great full body exercises that are also fun as heck, and actually statistically safer than golf last I checked.
Even though I played paintball in my day, and am currently aiming to get into Magfed Paintball as opposed to Airsoft(though i may hop into airsoft if i can afford it and magfed pb)- I can’t recommend Airsoft, Magfed, or just regular old Paintball enough to folks who’d like to get into a new hobby or sport: they’re generally a very welcoming, awesome crowd, with some of the funnest times of my life being hanging out as a referee/field monkey at Petty Paintball out in Red Rock, Texas. Good times! How I wish she was still a field open to the public. :)

The boys just having fun and what more Cartman and Kyle felt like good buddies throughout the episode. Most of the times when they're not arguing with each other, they we're just neutral, but this episode gives them vibes I love.

This had to be, without a doubt, one of the best episodes of modern South Park. To me, it felt like an older season episode where it focused on all 4 of the boys solely, which is what the newer seasons have been missing. We also got to see the boys acting their age again and bonding over their love of Airsoft. They’re just going out and having fun and it’s so sweet. And the final scene where they team up with their dads (and of course, Stan’s Uncle Jimbo) to take down the teenagers…the father/son bonding in this episode was by far the best part!!!! I hope we see more episodes like this in the future seasons!!!!

DUDE!!!! I can't believe how perfectly they captured airsoft. The pre-game instructions, the *SOUND DESIGN*, the mix of adults who take it too seriously and teenagers just hanging out.... perfection.
I used to play as a kid all the time and despite the occasional awkwardness at bigger events, it was some of the most fun I've ever had. Pro-tip for anyone who wants to pick it up today - playing with six friends in the woods is always more fun than big events.

I can agree with you, I’ve been playing airsoft for a Long time(Or as I refer to it, Call of duty But it’s IRL). When I started the only equipment I ran with was just jeans and a hoodie with a long-sleeve shirt under it(Just basically Picture army men walking towards a fight except one guy wearing a sweatshirt with his hood up, mask, and jeans on, yeah that was me back then😅) so I said “What’s wrong with this picture to my team and If they can’t figure it out then I’m like “you guys have army outfits on, I only have a hoodie and jeans🤣)now I just run a Long sleeve shirt, Vest, urban army Camo pants and some Black Boots And my mask which includes Eye and neck protection.

This was one of the best episodes in a long time.
Wholesome, focused on the boys, used the adults correctly as supporting characters, and was genuinely funny!

You Know, I’m Glad That Cartman is Being Lucky on The Shooting Game, and I’m Glad That Cartman Made His Team Go Awesome
Nice to both see Airsoft in a cartoon, and have it look and feel like an actual game, not just show a bunch of rage or people taking a casual match like a major Milsim event.
It would've been funny to have your generic 40 year old fat dude who gets mad at the kids on the field and treats the game like actual war. Other than that, this was a pretty accurate portrayal of your average weekend at a local field.

I've been playing Airsoft since late 2019, and this is a surprisingly accurate representation of Airsoft. All you need is the weird kid that dresses up as a Nazi, and the MilSimers getting pissed and starting fights. Glad to see more representation of Airsoft in mainstream media. You guys definitely did your research.

I have to agree with everyone else. This is relieving to see the boys actually being normal kids, having fun. not trying to kill each other over religious differences or trying to save the world from a crazy World War Z threat. The only thing that would make this better is all the kids playing, like Craig's gang, some other boys, the girls, even.

This was a great episode especially seeing the boys having genuine fun. Teenagers were so accurate, it even represented the 0.01% that would either have no eye protection and blind firing. It's an episode of South Park and wasn't mentioned in their pre-game rules so...
Honestly, this is probably one of the best episodes we've had in *years* and that's saying something. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much with a South Park episode.
I loved it. It's in my Top 10 now.

As someone who was super into airsoft in the late 2000s, this is fantastic and still accurate. I had the Scarface M16 with a functioning gas powered grenade launcher. Heavy as hell but it rocked. I think my chest rig and M9 holster are still somewhere in my parent’s attic

That was such a fun Episode. I love it. For me one of the best of the last years. Great that they got back to the smaller scaled stories in this season.

This is the best season in a long time, it feels like actual South Park again instead of being all about Randy and Tegridy Farms. It legit put a smile on my face when Randy appeared in the episode wearing his old blue shirt and not his farm outfit.

Hitler creating World War 2 is a good thing. Yeah, not all opinions hold much water.
Don't expect episodes like this to be frequent. Trey and Matt have made it clear they're not nearly as interested in the kid characters as they used to be, and Season 23 as a whole is full of meta commentary responding to nitpicky fans who get upset so easily that the four boys aren't the centre of attention. Wendy is my favourite character in the series, and it's admittedly frustrating she doesn't have many episodes that centre around her, but I'm a fan and not a writer and at most I can respect content that's well made regardless if it caters to what I want (I want doesn't get), and it does make those few episodes all the more special.
Fanbases are cringe inducing to say the least.
