Man, I wish I never would’ve stopped playing Pokémon. I started playing when I was 8 years old in 2008. I stopped playing for a while my Senior year and sold everything but I’m back in the game now. Sinnoh was my first generation and it brings back so much good nostalgia
I played Platinum since I was 10, but I never once stole a flag. I was all alone. -.- And better yet, in 2012 I finally learned how to get into Wi-Fi for my gen 4 and 5 games. Then, a year later it went bye-bye. Lol. R.I.P Stunky that is still in the GTS in Pokémon White. XD
On my old diamond, I stole 491 flags The next week my cartridge fell out my pocket and into a sewer :( I had a shiny empoleon, shiny Garchomp and shiny aerodactyl on it too
same, even have my pokemon blue and gameboy color, except now the cartridge is so broken that when i go to start a new game professor oak just has no text and a pokemon cry goes off, sometimes it lasts a while and is high pitched. really spooky.
15:47 bruh I felt that 💯 wen this game came out I had just turned 7 no care in the world, no responsibilities no nothing. Now I’m 19 broke af hustling 🤧 I wish I could relive those moments where I had a level 100 pikachu that I refused to evolve
I’m 16 so most kids my grade started with gen 4, and if you were like me, you grinded HGSS or Diamond/Pearl all day long. Sadly at some point I deleted my saved files on both my soul silver and pearl which I regret to this day
I put by far the most amount of time into my Pearl version, much more than any other individual Pokemon save file. I really wish I hadn't sold my copy six years ago
Or ya know. He can just have 2 Angels 1 God and 1 Satan. Or he could just have beings that are deadly and from another universe (Ultra Beasts), orrrr he could just catch something that can destroy the Galar Region easily and apparently it’s fair to have that in the Championship
Yep, makes you feel old, huh? I was in high school in 2007, imagine how old I'd feel. Back in that day, I wasn't too into Pokemon, I dropped out during gen 3 & came back in during the 5th so I completely missed gen 4 but funny enough, when I got back into Pokemon, I wasn't really all that into gen 5 so I bought some used copies of 4th gen games & played those until X&Y came out. I actually reset the save file on Diamond & gave it to my cousin's daughter since I was able to get my hands on Platinum for a good price which is what I wanted but I settled with Diamond since the store didn't have Platinum. I sadly lost my copy of Soul Silver, last time I was playing it was during the midnight release of X&Y & that's the last time I remember seeing it so I'm convinced that I accidentally left it at Gamestop somewhere. I did sit on the floor, playing on my DS for a few hours during that & I believe I switched out Soul Silver for Diamond at one point because my friend & I started trading Pokemon with other people, I didn't have much to trade given I didn't even finish the game but my friend had a shiny Wooper that a bunch of people tried trading her for that she wasn't willing to give up, I think that was her very first shiny. I actually looked over my Pokemon in Diamond before deleting the save file to give it to my cousin's daughter & I had a similar feeling except my oldest Pokemon were from 2012 so not as strong of nostalgia, I was out of high school by then & all days after graduation somehow still feels recent. I was like, why did I name my starting Pokemon Waddles? I chose Piplup by the way, I love penguins. Mostly, I was just questioning my naming decisions. I guess years down the line, I might pop X back into my 3DS & ask myself stuff such as, "why did I name my Fennekin Felix & why did I raise him to level 100?" Yeah, post game X, I mostly just trained up Pokemon so I could breed them for a shiny without worrying about them forgetting moves so members of my main team from the game are super high leveled from spending countless hours training my other Pokemon & then of course I used them to help raise my shinies too. I actually have a level 45 shiny Mudkip because I didn't want him to be a Swampert, I don't know why, I just didn't. That was my first ever shiny, if I revisit the game years from now, I'd probably want to go back in time & kick myself for not evolving my cute little Gumdrop up into a big, bad, pink Swampert... that's still named Gumdrop because that is a perfect name for a pink Swampert. Hope this was a nice & fun callback, wish I could have that kind of experience but as a kid, I was into the cards, like severely into them. I had every single card except for a few, I was missing Charizard & Chancey. The biggest revisit into Pokemon I had was popping in this disc I got from a cereal box with Lugia on it, I also have another one with Slowking of which funny enough, Lugia is one of my favorite legendaries, Slowpoke is one of my favorite Pokemon but Slowking is my preferred evolution of it. I think these things were promotions for the Pokemon 2000 movie but it was so long ago, I don't fully remember. They're these small computer discs that are like the most boring thing EVER! I remember as a kid thinking that I could finally adventure into the world of Pokemon on my computer, I didn't have a Gameboy so I couldn't play the video game so I thought maybe it was like some sort of computer game for people who couldn't play the Pokemon games & that I could go encounter wild Pokemon. Oh my gosh, my spirit was so broken when it was like some weird math game or something. I revisited this thing in 2011 because that's when I was slowly dipping my feet back into Pokemon & the memories of how I felt when I first tried them as a kid came rushing back. I still have them to this day since they're a weird & unusual item that I don't see people ever talking about but it would be an interesting thing to do a video on I think. It really is so disappointing, at least you got to be brought back & feel so happy revisiting your childhood game, mine was from a cereal box & was super stupid. Man, if only I had asked for a Gameboy for Christmas or something when I was a kid or stuck to watching Pokemon when I got my DS Light so I could play the main series games sooner. Maybe then I wouldn't pop in a game that I last played in 2013 & just question my naming choices. Well, now I gotta continue playing some Platinum, since I don't have Diamond anymore, that's what I got but it'll be fun going back to it. Last time I played Platinum was when I was waiting for the Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions to start when I saw it about a year or two ago so it will be fun looking back on stuff & getting back into the game.
can you do my essays- *COUGH* amazing and interesting story. I still have my copy of Pokemon Pearl. And crazy enough, only two years ago I got myself a level 100 Togekiss all the way from Japan from giving away my Palkia(is that the name?) and the only reason I sold it off, was because Togekiss was my first plush that I held on to as a kid(and that was when I was only 8). I'm 15 now and still have it just for showcase. Right now, I'm reliving moments of my Pokemon days and REALLY wanting a remastered D/P for either the 3ds or Switch.
Wow, when I was eight, Togepi was still a mystery so weird to think about other people having a Togekiss plush at that age, makes me feel so old even though I'm only 26. Ha, have me do your essays, at least your comment was better than most people who just says I talk too much & yeah, I was that one kid in class who cheered whenever we had to write essays. Heck, I think I only passed work experience because the final in that class was an essay & I was able to finish it within like a half hour & do so well that it's the best grade I ever got on anything else in that class but that's not saying much since I'd spend that entire class sitting in the back corner with some friends & watch Happy Tree Friends on their ipod, probably bought off of itunes since I'm talking a dinosaur ipod that wouldn't be able to access youtube. It's nice reliving those memories, I have friends who started on gen 4 & they want to see it make a return too. Since it's the one generation I was completely absent for, I had mutual feelings towards it but because that generation did revisit my favorite region, Johto, that helped up the score on them. Today I actually had a generation 4 themed day, I almost wanted to dub it Sinnoh Day or something along those lines since I went to Toys R Us to pick up the promotional Piplup card, saw Giratina coloring sheets so I decided to color a shiny Giratina because I want to catch one so badly, I plan to SR for a shiny Giratina in Ultra Moon, & I got the Diagla & Palkia codes from Gamestop as well. I wonder if I should pop in my copy of Platinum & play a little bit just to ice that Sinnoh cake a little. It definitely has grown on me, I don't get too nostalgic about it since my love for Pokemon boomeranged back to me in 2012 which was only 6 years ago & that's when I got my gen 4 games. I did put in Platinum just to see what I have done & all that since I haven't been on it in years, I was surprised to see I only had one badge & questioned why I had two flying types in my party & a Ponyta in the lead & I realized I was right outside the second gym & then facepalmed. I swear I thought I was much farther than that but apparently not, I did remember getting some help last time I played to get to that point. Definitely hold onto your Togekiss plush, you'll be happy you did in the future. I had a giant Pikachu plush when I was eight, my mom gave it to Good Will & I kind of wish I still had it. Now, the only Pokemon things I still have from my childhood are a Pikachu & a Poliwhirl golden Burger King cards & these two discs that came from cereal boxes I think, they're super lame Pokemon computer games. One has a Slowking on it & the other has Lugia on it, I think they were promotional from the Pokemon movie 2000.
1991birthday I’m playing Soul silver and platinum now and my goal is to catch all available pokémons from gen 1-4 and I also traded my old pokémon over to soul silver to just restart platinum so I still have all my memories from my first pokémons sence 2008 :)
1991birthday Oh, ahaha. Same here actually. My favorite subject in school is actually English/Composition. I'm the one in my family where everyone goes to ask "How do you spell this?" and "How do you spell that?" I even helped my brother with his last essay so he can graduate; I even managed to get 70 bucks off him for doing so. But yeah! Seeing as I'm only 15 now, and I feel old; man I don't think how you feel, haha! Certainly though, I love the 3 different evolutions of Togepi. It's moreover my feeling of childhood over preference of Pokemon. Generation 4 really had me hooked though. Just the idea of exploration *and* storyline at choice gave me away. In my party, I had a evolved-to-3 chimchar (forgot his name since I called it "fiery" and I don't have the game.), a Giratina named Dustorm (*facepalm*), Togekiss (Level 100, because I traded Palkia) Typhlosion (Level 100 with rare candies), Shaymin, and an Azelf. Also, I certainly will keep my Togekiss plush. I've almost lost it 5 times! And I'd go almost everywhere with it when I was younger. My dad used to call it a doll, and I said in return "No dad, it's an ACTION FIGURE!" My mom would laugh in the background, and I can see why now haha. But for now, all I have is a shoebox full of Pokemon cards, and some Pokemon plushes from back then. But for you, certainly keep those "lame games." They'll certainly be an artifact to be found in the future. So you'll probably earn lots from it! But if I may ask, do you have any way that we can text elsewhere, I'd certainly like a friend that has the same passion of pokemon like me. xD
I caught my first ever shiny when I was 8 and it was my favorite pokemon garchomp, and I didnt find out that it was shiny until 5 years later when I revisited the game to look at my save file for fun.
I still remember getting pokemon Platinum as a bday present when i was like 7 (which is around 8 yrs ago now). Seeing you re-discover your old save file brings back so many memories, thank you for sharing this with us!
Platinum was my first game. I got it when it forst came out. I had no odea what pokemon was, I just remember seeing the commercial for platinum on t.v. and telling my parents that I wanted it haha
*Game starts off in Canalave City* Relatable. When I go back to my Pearl file I'm always there too because ya gotta delete those HM moves before transferring Pokémon to other games.
ImFromTheMeta T he did notice, he pointed out how entei was shiny and entei came along with the other two beasts so he already knew about the shiny event.
When pokemon came out early 90s i was 6 and it hit me hard. Its funny to see the next gen growing up with the new versions of the game having the same feelings for it like i do for red and blue :D
Dude I have so much mad respect for your passion. Seeing your nostalgia reminded me of my love for Pokemon as well. I was in kindergarten when i played my first pokemon game im in my second year of university now and i still love it just as much as day 1
@@dende_ult714 everyone knows what he meant. No reason to correct him. It's not like he thought "if" was the right choice, he simply pressed the wrong button.
Ooh you should have transferred the competitive ones up to USUM, hyper train them and bring back the old team onto modern VGC. Throw a Tapu in there for the completeness as well. Also don't hatch the Manaphy egg in this copy of game - you can shiny hunt it by transferring it to another Gen. IV game, like that copy of Platinum or SoulSilver. An legit OG Pokémon Ranger Shiny Manaphy would be AWSEOME.
I remember the first Pokémon game I fully played through was Pokémon Diamond. It is by far my most favorite game ever. Can’t wait to head home this winter break and open my old save file to see what memories I had. The nostalgia is real!
My first Pokemon game was Diamond. Seeing this brought back so many amazing memories. I wish I still had it. My stupid self sold it for who knows what reason. Man. Just seeing this made me remember the whole reason I got into (and loved(past tense, but I still love it)) Pokemon. PokeTips, you brought back happy memories from a time long ago, and I thank you.
Treasure that shiny Entei my dude. I lost mine in Pokemon Omega Ruby when my save file got corrupted, as well as several other event Pokémon. That includes many others you showed in the video (Draco Meteor Jirachi, 2011 Arceus, and a few others). Treasure them and congrats!
Just happened to me few months ago man, it sucks. I did lost EVERYTHING. I even made s post about it amp.reddit.com/r/3DS/comments/as5alc/ive_lost_12_years_of_pok%C3%A9mon/
This makes me sad, my original PEarl and Platinum version were stolen, had a complete dex on platinum and a great team. And Pearl was special to me because of my OG gen 4 team. I wish I still had them so I can transfer all them up to gen 7 now.
This is so weird. I recently explored my old copy of diamond which was my first game as a child. It still has everything I had back in 2009 when I last played it. Although all of my legendaries and mythicals are gone since I transferred them to Pokemon Battle Revolution when I was a kid and I no longer have that game. So rip Darkrai, Shaymin, Cresselia.
My first Pokémon game was Pokémon pearl, unfortunately i list that copy, a week ago i was playing my old soulsilver game for nostalgia reasons and i found out ,my first Pokémon, empoleon was still on that game ,now its a beautiful empoleon on my ultra moon game
Thijs Pluijmert My first starter was also empoleon but since I didn't buy the Gen 5 or 6 games he is forever trapped in my Pokemon Diamond game which I still have to this day.
1:39 This made me a little sad. My parents would never take me to any of the events - even though most of them were a 15 minute drive away. I really loved Pokémon. All of my neighbours' parents were willing to drive their children though. Kinda sucked being the only one without any mythicals. I even stuck around with the franchise years longer than any of them :/
With hacked r4 pokemon, idk. But of you have a real pokemon platinum or pearl or diamond, you can transfer them to black and white (2) and than you can tranfer to pokebank (im dutch)
lol. My first Pokemon game was a pre-owned version of pearl. The game was already finished and there were several level 100s. But stupid 10 years old me decided to restart the game. I still regret that to this day. I did transfer some of the Pokemon to my new black game (first Pokemon game I played all the way through). I have a level 100 torterra in my Alpha Saphire copy from that game.
Golden_Pickaxe23 same. It was also pearl. I found it on he street outside my front house, my guess was sumone must’ve dropped it front their car without knowing . All I remember it that when I checked the party they had regigigas arceus girantina darkrai and palliative is all I remember .and I never checked the pc. Gullible 9 year old me was tricked into restarting it since my cousin who also played at the time and was also jealous said it was cheating and convinced me to restart it. Smh I regret it, no one survived
You know guys, I felt the same way too. This quarantine made me go back to play the games I played before. The difference is that I don't have my NDS lite anymore, it was stolen by someone along with my Nintendogs and other cartridges. But looking back to my childhood, I didn't have a lot of friends and these games especially Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Diamond made me feel like I'm not alone and it felt great going on an adventure. Collected all 8 badges and beaten all the champions without being bothered by time coz I had plenty of it when I was 8. Now, I'm already a college student and hearing the bgm of Twinleaf Town and Eterna City makes me cry of the memories I spent playing this game coz they were really nostalgic (and it's kinda sad that I'm playing in an emulator). 😭
Mike: "oh the old emerald cloning glitch" Me who accidently deleted my maxed out Rayquaza and restarted my entire save: War like flashbacks intensifies
Geez I feel so left out, my first Pokemon game was Pokemon Sun. I won't be surprised if people call me a 'noob', but generation 7 gives me so much good nostalgia. And Pokemon has been apart of most of my life as I've watched most of the movies when I was young. Also, I have all the 3ds Pokemon games. Sadly I can't get my hands on the older games, I'd love to play them.
OMGGG DUDE YOU REMINDED ME OF SO MUCH. I used to love tweaking so so so much!! I was so good at it, I probably spent more than a few hours practicing it, I remember I spent over 2 hours for Darkrai and an hour for Shaymin, and watched LOTR while holding down the buttons haha. This gives me motivation to dig through the old attic stuff and find it, i heard there’s a way to get Arceus now!
It wasn't Black and White. It was for Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver... Specifically for the release of the Zoroark movie that featured the Shiny trio. I got weird looks cause I went to GameStop just for the event and would download one, switch cartridges and download again. I was always like "What? Easy shiny Legendaries. I'm down for that?"
I got the Japanese version of Pokemon White because I couldn’t wait and pretty much flexed on everyone lmaooo. Btw, you should explore your Japanese copies if you haven’t already. Would be super cool :)
I finally beat Cynthia, now I can buy a villa...and spend and collect 2mil+ Poke dollars on a house... I had to sacrifice my Giratina to switch in my lv68 Starapter...and 4/5 percent of my team...
I've never played a game older than Sun and Moon(minus the Alpha Sapphire I have but I've yet to start that game up) but the nostalgic twinkle in Mike's eyes in these videos makes memories I don't even have come back to me
People are going to laugh at this but whatever I’m saying it anyhow. My first Pokémon game I played was Pokémon emerald )which is my favorite game still and generation still is and I played it on an ios emulator...
There is nothing wrong from that! Emerald was a fantastic game, a great one to start with - it doesnt matter if your first experience was playing it on a phone!
Vincent 17 I remember trading with a bunch of people on Pokémon Pearl most of them had Diamond so what I did was trade while the teachers are not looking. And then I quickly hide my DS inside my desk.
13:57 obviously you only placed 4 traps, because your friends can´t see them, they are likely to run into them, while you can always walk through this area without any problems, since you left yourself an open path x3
First game was leaf green and played that game so many times over and over again. Eventually played every generation and sinnoh was one of my favorites. They really need to make a remake of gen 4.
Diamond was my first Pokémon game then I went to Platinum and it was one of my favorite games, I ended up losing the cartridge and I went on to HG/SS and Black/White2 series and I stopped there, only new game I've played is Omega Ruby
I remember the days where we'd have to sneak our DSs to school. Sometimes we'd get caught and lose it. Now I find it appalling that they let them now have it in schools. There were a bunch of times with my old elementary friends where we would play mario kart ds. I remember I actually beat the whole game one time there, and my buds thought I was just the coolest. Now I'm a freshman in college and don't have much time for my ds anymore. Hopefully I can give it to my nephew who doesn't have any videogames. His dad, my brother, doesn't let him for some reason and I don't know why. Ironically when my brother was his son's age he would play mike tysons punch out on the nes all the time. He actually beat the game at 5am where he yelled and ran around the house waking everybody up. I believe he actually had a notebook where he would keep track of all the patterns each boxer had for that game. Ah, the memories.

Yeah, post game X, I mostly just trained up Pokemon so I could breed them for a shiny without worrying about them forgetting moves so members of my main team from the game are super high leveled from spending countless hours training my other Pokemon & then of course I used them to help raise my shinies too.
Thanks for the life story😅 super entertaining
can you do my essays-
*COUGH* amazing and interesting story.
But if I may ask, do you have any way that we can text elsewhere, I'd certainly like a friend that has the same passion of pokemon like me. xD
You just gave me the biggest nostalgia. .
*Game starts off in Canalave City*
Relatable. When I go back to my Pearl file I'm always there too because ya gotta delete those HM moves before transferring Pokémon to other games.
the raikou and suicune were shiny
csZipy205 the entei too
csZipy205 Yeah, it was an event for black and white. If you tranfer them up to black and white i'm pretty sure you can get Zoroark.
We know
And entei
ImFromTheMeta T he did notice, he pointed out how entei was shiny and entei came along with the other two beasts so he already knew about the shiny event.

When pokemon came out early 90s i was 6 and it hit me hard. Its funny to see the next gen growing up with the new versions of the game having the same feelings for it like i do for red and blue :D
You said "We're home in the Sinnoh region!" Yeah, you're in my home region! In My pokemon backstory I was born in Sinnoh!
I'm from the unavor region!!
I'm galarian lmao

Omg Diamond was my first Pokemon game, it just reminds me of so good times 😍
Dude I have so much mad respect for your passion. Seeing your nostalgia reminded me of my love for Pokemon as well. I was in kindergarten when i played my first pokemon game im in my second year of university now and i still love it just as much as day 1

Nostalgia hits me so hard
this was so nostalgic to watch. that bit about how life "used to be so simple" hit home! i love your unabashed pokemon enthusiasm its very good
I remember playing pearl and my brother playing diamond and we battled every week to see who was better.
this is like the 50th version of this type of video so far
Nostalgia is a powerful drug. Stay in school kids! You'll miss the good ole days soon enough!

Model Z and being not original
Dea Rat child detected, no pun intended
Ooh you should have transferred the competitive ones up to USUM, hyper train them and bring back the old team onto modern VGC. Throw a Tapu in there for the completeness as well. Also don't hatch the Manaphy egg in this copy of game - you can shiny hunt it by transferring it to another Gen. IV game, like that copy of Platinum or SoulSilver. An legit OG Pokémon Ranger Shiny Manaphy would be AWSEOME.
I hacked a shiny ranger manaphy and a shiny faraway island mew. I loved using them in gen 6 for fun
My diamond was ate by my dog XD I was so mad
Was your dog ok?! 😂
Oofy oof
That Lv. 100 Starmie had Pokerus at some point. The lil smiley face indicates that.
@@xythrr its processed. People say if your pokemon has pOkeyrUs you should release it before your ds gets haunted.

"I really hope that if they remake Diamond and Pearl" Yup, that aged very well
Wow is that already 11 years ago? It was the first pokemon game I played. Sadly, I lost my game... So that's sad
Oh btw there is a weird black flash at 5:38
My first Pokémon game was Pokémon pearl, unfortunately i list that copy, a week ago i was playing my old soulsilver game for nostalgia reasons and i found out ,my first Pokémon, empoleon was still on that game ,now its a beautiful empoleon on my ultra moon game
Pearl was my first Pokemon game but I lost my copy as well
Thijs Pluijmert My first starter was also empoleon but since I didn't buy the Gen 5 or 6 games he is forever trapped in my Pokemon Diamond game which I still have to this day.
Same bruh. Lost my pkmn pearl. FeelsBadMan
I spent A LOT of time in gen 4 I REALLLY HOPE THEY DO A REMAKE with new MEGAS!
They making some lol
The game is released and sadly there are no megas to be found
My pokemon game timeline:
2017: pokemon leaf green
2018: pokemon emerald
2019: pokemon black, pokemon white 2, pokemon yellow, pokemon platinum, pokemon diamond, pokemon heartgold, pokemon soulsilver
2020: pokemon black 2 (japanese)
This timeline is incorrect and confusion
1:39 This made me a little sad. My parents would never take me to any of the events - even though most of them were a 15 minute drive away. I really loved Pokémon. All of my neighbours' parents were willing to drive their children though. Kinda sucked being the only one without any mythicals. I even stuck around with the franchise years longer than any of them :/
Here's me watching them react to very old saves when i've just finished the game for the first time.....Sad me...
Same lol
If I'm wrong please correct me. Cant you still take pokemon from Gen 4 and get them into Sun and Moon with Black 2 and White 2 with Pokebank?
With hacked r4 pokemon, idk. But of you have a real pokemon platinum or pearl or diamond, you can transfer them to black and white (2) and than you can tranfer to pokebank (im dutch)
I feel the childhood, nostalgia ♥️♥️♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️
I miss these days...
You coined the term "ice king" before adventure time
Love this content! Keep up the good work man!
It's sad to think about how one day you picked up your game and played one more time only to save, put it down, and never play again.
Yesterday, I decided to go back to my first game, Pokémon Black. It was a real nostalgia trip. The memories.
I'll have to reply black and white sometime, I don't remember those games that well!
I got my DS and Pokemon black stolen
Golden_Pickaxe23 I did same thing but my shiny mew survived. So I still have my shiny mew till this day in Pokemon ultra moon
Sadly phione is like a common legend now 😂
You know guys, I felt the same way too. 😭
I’m so happy I can replay PD and PP (now BDSP) it’s so nostalgic

Mike: "oh the old emerald cloning glitch"
Me who accidently deleted my maxed out Rayquaza and restarted my entire save: War like flashbacks intensifies

Bro started his save file 1 day after my birthday
