Created this cause wanted to help teach the public the truth behind y'all in a short, sweet, to the point fashion. (Also, the camera man was written as a metaphor). I never realized before how much talent and how expansive this thing really is, so lets just say I'm not quite finished working with y'all just yet ;)

Even if people for whatever reason don’t want to hear it from an actual furry, there are many non furs popping up and making videos addressing furries in a non biased sincere way and In a way that’s respectful. Some of them even going out of their way to interact with them at cons and ask good questions. Even genuinely finding themselves having fun by the end which always makes me smile ear to ear.
My mom was sexually assaulted by a furry a few years ago and I have been one since I was 11, I'm 26 now and I can firmly say people like that didn't have good parents. My mom's doing ok now she's helping homeless get tiny homes n its called Occupy Madison

I’m that suiter, I got pretty nervous when her character got popular ~a year after I designed mine that my character was gonna become generic but nope, not very many carnival ride based characters still. Seems like most of them have just been Smiler related more like hers or otherwise Alton Towers (the park the Smiler is at). And because people ask it a lot, the only character trait I borrowed from that character is… the long fur on the forearms/legs lol Even among hardcore ride enthusiasts, being as into spinning/travelling rides as I am is pretty niche lol The one other carnival ride furry I’ve seen online spotted me at a con once and was like YOU! TOP SCAN CREATURE!

I actually was at this one!! I was over in the artist alley so I didn't get to see much of the con itself but it was a wonderful year and I'm glad I was able to be a part of it! (If I saw any of you I was over at Silvered Fox Creations with some ears and tails and trying my hand at some badges) Thank you for this reaction and thank you condensed nuts for giving the convention a try and being so respectful about it all!
This was so endearing to watch. I love when someone gets past their prejudice and realize is just a hobby. I've just been a furry for like two or three months, and I somewhat admitted being one in front of the whole class and a teacher on accident lol. But as far as I can tell they just don't care, I wouldn't have it any other way.

i became a furry at 16, id come out to my mom and she told me "as long as you arent one of those furries" i then proceeded to get into the fandom and realize years later that my mother was joking, and my little spiteful self learned my older sister already went that direction!

ever since I could remember, I've always wanted to be an animal. I spent a good part of my childhood crawling on the floor pretending to be a dog. nowadays, I'm very insecure with my body, being trans and having a very feminine and big body, so using my fursona as an outlet has helped my mental health a good bit. I'm able to draw myself with whatever body I wish I hope to accomplish. and for people who might comment "you should be proud of your body no matter your weight" I understand, but that's not what is right for me. I don't feel right in my body already because of the dysphoria, and I've never been happy with how much weight I've gained since I stopped taking my adhd medicine. the idea of hopefully loosing a lot of my weight is a huge motivater for me

Unironically, a specific train show I watched when I moved to New England in late 2010, is actually one of the many reasons I joined the furry community in October 2010. I'm a furry (give or take), and I think furries are cringe, but in the best way possible. It's the sort of cringe where you know you're flipping the bird to irrational norms and having fun without hurting anyone. It's like this huge secret of joy and creativity that's smarter than "smart", which does take a leap over "feeling weird" to enjoy it but once you take the leap, it's a blast. And I feel like most furries are in on the joke/secret. The self-awareness intersects with the determination to reject self-awareness that makes furry a really amazing place.
You mentioning Furry Weekend Atlanta reminded me of the time that over a decade ago a Normie invaded that con to make a video. G4TV's Attack of the Show sent their correspondent (and former Playboy Playmate of the Year) Sara Jean Underwood to FWA 2011. While G4 is no longer with us, the segment is easy enough to find on YT. Also have to add on to the fact, I also took my friend who was a little iffy about the furry con and he had a lot of fun himself!! Having this as a video is a lot better of a way to explain why I enjoy wearing 1400$ XD. It’s nice to see normal people coming into these things to show that it’s a safe haven and it’s not weird and what not. Especially helps parents who’s children have heard of this and are interested in doing it bc it allows them to see it’s not a sex drive type thing or anything inappropriate rather just a very accepting community who enjoy making characters they create “come to life!!!”
I appreciate how they aren't getting into the zoo and ped problem we clearly have in our xxx art. I try to report every image I find like that but it burns me out sometimes with the amount of crap u have to fill out just to report it to cyber crime. It's an unfortunate legal grey area that we're aware of. If u do find stuff like that you can click the options under images online to report them.
Furry and Anime have connected roots. The person that started the first furry convention in 1989 also was one of the people that started the first Anime fan club in the last 70s. He just died this morning.

I made a paper protogen mask if you wanna make one! Basically you just need some thick ish paper and make a triangle with the first 2 papers and add your face you want on it before taping it all together and then either make a bottom of the mask! And now once your done making your face and taping the bottom Thn you make a triangle to tape to the front and you can add a design anywhere you want! And then I just used tape but you can use what ever and then you make the head straps to keep it on your head I made slits to stick the head straps in it since I had 2 layer paper since mine wasn't very thick this head strap part is the part I messed up a lot but it's better than it breaking so make sure it actually fits and make sure your whole head fits it's good if atleast when you put it on the chin goes down when putting it on and then you make a strap to be on top and then one in the side! To keep it there it's gonna be big but that's okay as big as it needs to fit a good bit! Make sure to tape the bottom though! So you don't slit your throat with paper! That's very i

As a consequence the creators (tour de pizza) will lose money due to less people having an interest. By far gatekeeping has a complete negative impact of the interests of other people. So in an in depth paragraph on how gatekeeping negatively impacts basically everything about a fandom. I am telling you to stfu.

A tip for adding perspective to the negative perceptions of the community: ask the person you're interacting with if they're a fan of MCU or Star Wars or similar (find something they're into that's media-related). For the MCU example, if they're a fan I'd ask if they want to do the horrible stuff to Black Widow that's depicted on the internet: not the normal sexualization but the really horrible stuff. Assuming they say they don't, ask them what it's like to be lumped in with the people that do? How it would feel if the public perception of the ENTIRE MCU FANDOM was judged on the preferences and behaviors of the worst aspects of society, and the rest is ignored?

In the Netherlands, trains weren't used in certain parts of the country this year. Because a lot of badgers were nesting under the rails. Until this day, workers are still trying to get them away. They just keep comming back :P

The fact that the community is full of kind, welcoming people is what helped sell me on being a furry. Being able to be a frilled shark was that final baby nudge over to the furry side.
i became a furry at 16, id come out to my mom and she told me "as long as you arent one of those furries" i then proceeded to get into the fandom and realize years later that my mother was joking, and my little spiteful self learned my older sister already went that direction!
Noticing Asriel there in the crowd (36:40) reminded me that Undertale is a big part of what inspired me to be a furry.

ever since I could remember, I've always wanted to be an animal. I spent a good part of my childhood crawling on the floor pretending to be a dog.
nowadays, I'm very insecure with my body, being trans and having a very feminine and big body, so using my fursona as an outlet has helped my mental health a good bit. I'm able to draw myself with whatever body I wish I hope to accomplish.
and for people who might comment "you should be proud of your body no matter your weight" I understand, but that's not what is right for me. I don't feel right in my body already because of the dysphoria, and I've never been happy with how much weight I've gained since I stopped taking my adhd medicine. the idea of hopefully loosing a lot of my weight is a huge motivater for me
I do love the star wars comment, because, I know i'm weird as a furry. But I knew a dude who was SO into star wars, he was in a group that was dedicated to screen accurate costumes. He was a Vader guy, and their whole Reg was accurate height, movie accurate armor troopers. We're all nerds in the end lol

22:37 "Trains!" Why were trains the theme for this 2023 New England furcon?, I have no Idea. Unironically, a specific train show I watched when I moved to New England in late 2010, is actually one of the many reasons I joined the furry community in October 2010. Of course I couldn't go that con or any furcons because I was prepping for life after graduation. Also because my friends who are also furries, are thousands of miles away.

I'm a furry (give or take), and I think furries are cringe, but in the best way possible. It's the sort of cringe where you know you're flipping the bird to irrational norms and having fun without hurting anyone. It's like this huge secret of joy and creativity that's smarter than "smart", which does take a leap over "feeling weird" to enjoy it but once you take the leap, it's a blast. And I feel like most furries are in on the joke/secret. The self-awareness intersects with the determination to reject self-awareness that makes furry a really amazing place.

G4TV's Attack of the Show sent their correspondent (and former Playboy Playmate of the Year) Sara Jean Underwood to FWA 2011. While G4 is no longer with us, the segment is easy enough to find on YT. Might be good reaction material.

Also have to add on to the fact, I also took my friend who was a little iffy about the furry con and he had a lot of fun himself!! Having this as a video is a lot better of a way to explain why I enjoy wearing 1400$ XD. It’s nice to see normal people coming into these things to show that it’s a safe haven and it’s not weird and what not. Especially helps parents who’s children have heard of this and are interested in doing it bc it allows them to see it’s not a sex drive type thing or anything inappropriate rather just a very accepting community who enjoy making characters they create “come to life!!!”

I appreciate how they aren't getting into the zoo and ped problem we clearly have in our xxx art. I try to report every image I find like that but it burns me out sometimes with the amount of crap u have to fill out just to report it to cyber crime. It's an unfortunate legal grey area that we're aware of. If u do find stuff like that you can click the options under images online to report them.

Furry and Anime have connected roots. The person that started the first furry convention in 1989 also was one of the people that started the first Anime fan club in the last 70s. He just died this morning.

I made a paper protogen mask if you wanna make one! Basically you just need some thick ish paper and make a triangle with the first 2 papers and add your face you want on it before taping it all together and then either make a bottom of the mask! And now once your done making your face and taping the bottom Thn you make a triangle to tape to the front and you can add a design anywhere you want! And then I just used tape but you can use what ever and then you make the head straps to keep it on your head I made slits to stick the head straps in it since I had 2 layer paper since mine wasn't very thick this head strap part is the part I messed up a lot but it's better than it breaking so make sure it actually fits and make sure your whole head fits it's good if atleast when you put it on the chin goes down when putting it on and then you make a strap to be on top and then one in the side! To keep it there it's gonna be big but that's okay as big as it needs to fit a good bit! Make sure to tape the bottom though! So you don't slit your throat with paper! That's very i

@Gorod Grovi gatekeeping is perhaps the most insulting thing to new members of the fandom as it makes people want to leave it. As a consequence the creators (tour de pizza) will lose money due to less people having an interest. By far gatekeeping has a complete negative impact of the interests of other people. So in an in depth paragraph on how gatekeeping negatively impacts basically everything about a fandom. I am telling you to stfu.

As a furry myself, I really appreciate when people actually take information from the community before talking about it instead of just listening to the side against it and the weird groups, Tbh the reason I became a furry was cause the costumes are cute and the community is really nice especially the people.

A tip for adding perspective to the negative perceptions of the community: ask the person you're interacting with if they're a fan of MCU or Star Wars or similar (find something they're into that's media-related).
For the MCU example, if they're a fan I'd ask if they want to do the horrible stuff to Black Widow that's depicted on the internet: not the normal sexualization but the really horrible stuff.
Assuming they say they don't, ask them what it's like to be lumped in with the people that do? How it would feel if the public perception of the ENTIRE MCU FANDOM was judged on the preferences and behaviors of the worst aspects of society, and the rest is ignored?
I was the con medic and I was running around in rainbow thigh highs I also got stuck on elevator duty for a bit, I had no idea you went to ANE!
