I noticed Chris talked a lot about mental health and struggles he had with it, not just in this interview. But is it to do with all PEDs ? Once you get off the stage and go clean, will your mental wellbeing become better ? Was that your sacrifice ?

"you do not need to be great" (awkward hypnosis attempt by Crhis, because CBum obviously has a calling to be great).. "I am not enough" and then Chris proceed with main driver being "validation (from others)" and "everybody thinking I am cool and successful". Why this social mirror tangent? Why not sell-fullfilment, fullfilling ones life's calling, calling by God ?

They speak about emotional experiences differently: Chris W intellectualizes about emotional processing, and he speaks around emotional wisdom (high intellect and ability to articulate, but moderately-low relationship with his emotional experiences-at least relative to most of my therapist friends). While CBum has done emotional processing and "done the work," more (moderate intellect and moderately-high emotional processing, which is what makes him stand out among men). You can hear CBum speak more meaningfully and in depth about his relationship with his emotional experiences. CBum has personally "rediscovered" traditional wisdom through this work.
Also, just to note: CBum makes mindfulness sound easy. For clinically "disordered" people, simply attempting mindful acceptance to moderately-high amounts of anxiety/depression/stress may not be possible, nor trauma informed.

    Hi Chris,
I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the outstanding episode interviewing Cbum. It was incredibly well done-very in-depth and insightful into his mindset and the core topics that really define who he is. The conversation went beyond the surface and gave a genuine look at his motivations, challenges, and values.
It’s always great to hear such thoughtful interviews, and this one definitely stood out. Keep up the amazing work-looking forward to more!
    Best,
    Terence

Hearing him say he can achieve this level of success without casting aside his values rings a bell. I believe Jiren from Dragon Ball Super, praised Vegeta for beating his teammate Toppo…who cast aside all his values to attain the God of Destruction power. I know it’s anime. But C’Bum really drove it home here. 💪🏾

Loved the discussion on early months of fatherhood... I liken it to being a pit crew for a Formula 1 car.

As another commenter posted most people seem to overlook the commitment & hard work bodybuilders put in or even how intelligent or cerebral & interesting many of them are. Any sport or goal the requires the choices & sacrifices like bodybuilding does is going to give you some interesting elite individuals. The choice to build a life around training, eating & then cutting weight to a level that woukd kill you eventually & even acutely can be very dangerous. The choice to use steroids & PEDs knowing the risks at play to be the very best & the effect it will almost certainly have on your longevity if not even in the short term like hairloss, infertility, negatively affecting your personality etc just goes to show the seriousness & hopefully the wisdom some of these guys have or develop through their career.
