  • In this video we explore the audio routing capabilities inside the OPx-4 synth. OPx-4 offers a rather unique audio routing capability with 3 distinct audio routes, 2 filters, and 3 insert FX slots. This allows us to create layered sounds, as well as do parallel and spectral processing.
We do a full patch walk through here, exploring using all 3 busses to help you get a better understanding of how to use these in your own patches.

I've only owned Force for a week or so and just bought OPx-4 in the Black Friday sales. I can't believe how quickly I am getting my head around the complex routing options in it and it is ALL thanks to your marvellous teaching skills. To say nothing of your obvious programming and music in general skills. Thank you.

Thanks for that. I'm not great at sound design and software synths generally overwhelm me, but this video really broke it down in a clear way. Will be giving the concepts a try later.

I did thank you. I made a modified version of that patch and it made it into a piece I was working on.@@joefilbrun

Thanks this reminder of the power of OPx4 while most of us are focused on Jura. What are opinion about Jura? I'm testing it out know & I think it really dope! Hopefully you'll makes some demos.

Hey Poetic Noise! Haha, yeah, I wanted to get this one out the door before I forgot what I wanted to show. Hoping to get a Jura video out this weekend while people are thinking and deciding on it. Personally I like it! It has such a nice clean, warm sound - they nailed that! And the reverb section is unlike anything else we have on the Akai standalones.

    Hi Jo,
Thank for this new tutorial. But what's a pain to work with such a mono colour screen with agressive brightness ! For this reason, I cannot use this plug-in. It seems that Air Music Technology has 30 years of ergonomic knowledge to learn!

Hey Mounir, It doesn’t really bother me but I understand where you’re coming from. It would prob be nice if they’d offer a couple different skins. At least like a light and dark mode like we have available in a lot of computer based apps to meet different preferences.
